This was my very first attempt at using Apple Motion. After watching a single tutorial video, I jumped right in. This project took 10 days to complete, including render time.
I know a lot of it isn't perfect, but this is really more of a test than anything else. That's why it gets so screen-saver like at the end, I felt like playing with particles. Some of the lyrics are ambiguous, with the source not including a few verses and multiple internet sources disagreeing. I just went with what made sense to me.
The Motion file had to be split into 2 parts. The render was split into 5 parts (re-assembled with with ScreenFlow). My little MacBook did not have fun editing or rendering this.
Next time, I will try to make some sort of a coherent story and have more deliberate design. What song would you like to see?

This song is quite odd, considering it's about what your dreams will show you, specifically things like bad luck or insecurities.

To me, this comes of as someone you know hurting you. In dreams, this is seen as trust issues, or maybe even feeling powerless.
"Once I flew above the cars, and the wind blew gratitude through my heart"
I'm not entirely sure about this one, considering flying in a dream means to have full control over something. I'm wondering if these means that for a short time, he felt in power, and then went spiraling downwards, since he goes back to seemingly calling for help right after this line.

About a month ago I posted my analysis on this video. I have changed my thoughts. It feels more like a person who is stuck in a constant state of discomfort with their life as if they were mentally unhealthy. "Haunted pillow beneath my head. Where does it go?" Pillows are used for comfort during sleeping, but if the haunted pillow disappears, then it would signal discomfort in a time when they should normally be comfortable.
"Pick out her heart with a kitchen fork, pin down her arms." I think this would signify self harm to themself. "Wake from the scar, still feeling sick, when did it get started?" This would refer to the person who is singing this song to be regretful of harming their body, looking down at their scars with uneasiness, wondering where in their lifetime did it all start.
"Where, oh, where, did this come from? Oh my god, my head's a gun!" Wondering to themselves where that dreadful feeling of self hatred first came from, their head began to fantasize about the suicide from a gun
"I let myself go ×4" Their life goes downhill from here.
"Once I flew above the cars, the wind blew gratitude through my heart." This definitely means the singer attempts suicide by jumping off a building into the busy road, flying above cars would mean that they would have to be pretty high up in the sky. The wind blowing gratitude through their heart would mean they felt pleased with their decision.
I think when the singer's refers to another person, it's actually the singer's inner demons, or the part of him that leads him into panic attacks and causes him to believe things about himself that aren't true. So, his bad thoughts or possible personality/bipolar disorder.
"Who's that kid that wakes each night and takes me on these wretched rides?" "SAVE US FROM OUR OWN TWO HEADS, CAN I KEEP JUST ONE AND DITCH THE REST?" These two lyrics are the reason why I believe this.
Good analysis! This song reminds me of the game Blue Whale, where the game would intentionally make people harm themselves and then commit suicide at the end. Some of the lyrics are really similar to the challenges they would make you do
So overdramatic, not every single song is about depression, bipolar disorder or other dumb shit like that.

1:56 i've been looking EVERYWHERE for likely lyrics to this segment but none that I had found sound nearly as spot-on as yours do. The words go together perfectly and form correct sentences and each word sounds exactly like what he's singing when you can actually compare it.

I don't feel angry or sad, but I do feel some sort of anxiety or distortion. Sometimes making me feel unusually happy, like if I'm going insane. Similar to getting high... I guess.
i would recommend trying to use different fonts, as Arial isnt the best looking aesthetically.

Hello, A year later and someone made a great animatic to this song for the game "slay the princess". I'd definitely recommend watching a playthrough of the game first but the animation is some of the best I've seen

I think the song is about intrusive thoughts (aka typically unpleasant, random thoughts) especially with lines like "where, oh where, did this come from"
Edit: and the thoughts become excessive and common to the point where they are not intrusive anymore and are seen as normal, and the person goes insane from them.
edit: sorry for all the edits, but now i think its about someone having intrusive thoughts, and panicking about them, not going insane

For me who experiences these sorts of things, I think the song is just about intrusive thoughts, and terrible nightmares leading into a severe mental health decline. Losing teeth is also a common dream people have when they fear getting older or fear they're missing something that makes them feel safe. It's common in those who are declining in such a way to have a moment where they know they were once were okay but aren't anymore due to so much trauma. They struggle with taking care of themselves, they don't know what's next in the future. In short, the "narrator" here isn't feeling mentally well.

This is my take on theorizing what these song lyrics are about.
My analysis may seem a bit scattered but that's because I did this for fun more or less, so bare with me. (This is just a theory- Also not about DID/ MPD just an identity crisis-)
(Used they/them cus idk the gender of who this story is based around if it isn't the artist)
"Wake from a dream where I was stuck losing my teeth" It seems as though this is metaphorical for slowly losing yourself. The person is waking up to reality, realizing they're losing bits and bits of their identity slowly. They were stuck losing themselves. But they woke up to reality, realizing there's nothing left of their current identity to lose.
"Lucky for me it was all fake, or not what it seemed" By this they mean the identity they're losing/lost was a persona identity. An identity they used their whole life subconsciously without realizing that it wasn't their true identity. It's the identity everyone around them has grown to know and care for, including them themself.
"Where oh where do we go next" This seems like they're asking each separate identity, the true one and fake "Where do we go next?" Because they're lost on what to do. Keep up the facade of their persona identity that they never knew wasn't the real them until now, or fall back and take on their true identity/ true self/ true nature.
"Haunted pillow beneath my head" It seems as though they're haunted with the memories from the past of the identity they've always known, the fake one, the persona they put on without realizing it. They're literally "sleeping on" the decision of where to go next ("Where oh where do we go next") because they don't know what to do yet.
"Where does it go" - Where does it go from here?
"Pick out her heart with a kitchen fork, pin down her arms, wake from the scar" This seems to be a term for self harm. They're inflicting harm on themselves because of their confusing identity crisis. They're burdened and don't know what else to do so they're harming to cope.
"Still feeling sick, where did it get started?" When did the cutting get started? (I think they passed out and woke up to the cuts healing so they're confused on when they began cutting)
"Where oh where did this come from?" Where all of a sudden did their true identity come from? Why are they just now finding out who they really were all along?
"Oh my god my head's a gun" This is referring to their head being a war zone because of the 2 clashing identities.
"I let myself go" They let the persona identity go. They referred to it as "I let myself go" Because they genuinely feel like they let their true self go because all they've known up until this point is the persona identity.
"Who's that kid who wakes each night, takes me on these wretched rides" Who's this waking up to reality? Me? The other me? My other identity? Takes me on these wretched rides-->(Takes me on these wretched rides referring to their true identity throwing them mentally into an identity crisis and making them go into a downward spiral)
"Once I flew above the cars, and the wind blew gratitude in my heart" Once they felt like they were on top of the world and the recognition everyone gave them gave them gratitude, now it's the complete opposite.
"Save us from our own two heads, can I keep just one and ditch the rest?" Save them from themself- (The 2 identities) they just want to keep one identity and ditch the rest/ the other one.
(End) I'm assuming that the person kept the true identity and ditched the persona identity because they were referring to "I let myself go" - The only myself they could've been talking about is the persona identity- Since that's all they knew until not too long ago.
