but once you are experienced, you will have to come up with thought process to sell the design to your clients, because more and more you will be hammering out designs completely from your head to illustrator without even taking 5 minutes. So to stop giving the client the impression that it is easy, you will have to start to come up with stories, and that is a skill
@@arunashamal this is not true. these are not stories. these are the process. and you can't fool a client. you should have a solid process and client will know if you are lying or honest. that's how people charge good amount with their designs.
Embarrassed to say it but back in 2005 when my step mother first taught me about adobe photodiode and graphic design I didn't take it seriously and thought it wasn't going to be a secure job, even though I fell in love with graphic design. Now over a decade later I know better and really appreciate designers like you that show the process you personally use. It is an astronomical help for my learning style

I love how the ‘final‘ 3 options are presented, but then you go one better for the real final version adding the strapline instead of the block. Funny how thinking in simple terms, e.g. shape blocks, can allow ‘unexpected‘ results, but then it fits the primary vision you intended. I can‘t get enough of these videos! :D
Every time I watch one of your videos it inspires me to want to learn more. I've watched so many of your videos and they've helped me to design better. I know Photoshop but I don't really know illustrator but because of your videos I've been practicing and rewatching. And now, I'm starting to feel comfortable using it. This confirms I’m on the right track. I do this intuitively but if I plan to expand and grow the team, I need to be able to articulate this process. This video was a great example of explaining the process.
It takes a long time to design an appropriate logo. People don't understand the psychology behind the process. Thankfully I did. You have furthered that.
Thanks for sharing this tutorial 👍 and I totally agree that marketing research plays a huge huge role. When you understand the background for each project on what their target audience likes is vital to communicate to their audience.
Love that the negative space in the G looked like a fist punching out as well its a nice little touch that even if not noticed right away can just make someone go, "Oh thats cool!"
You have set out what really is the ideal successful logo design from both sides of the issue. Your process- find out as much as possible seems only a natural inquiry logo or otherwise. Inviting the clients in only means a more efficient process with fewer re-writes and re-thinks. Add to that the transparency of thinking through design decisions and being able to say why and what at each juncture. I wish more designers could set themselves up this way.
I got my BA in Graphic Design a year ago and till now I did not work on even one project I want to start, but I don't know where should i start from I've learned so much from your videos, Thank you so much both ways

Feedback- I have seen your videos here in there but never subscribe until last week. I find your videos a lot more engaging, I love the incorporation of graphics and the short stock videos and having more of that and less of video image of you it's excellent. Love the smooth graphics and this transparency on your logo design process is refreshing to see. I hope to see more content like this and all the other recent type of videos I've seen.

The fundamental aspect of this video shows just how important connectivity and good communication is with your client and how equally important a well structured and meticulous work flow is. Again, very well presented, clear, concise, fluid, with lots of relevant and solid advise...Great stuff, and a pleasure to watch, and learn!...BTW, I think your end product was really good and perfect for the clients needs. Getting it spot-on like that is not as easy as many people may like to think and it takes a good deal of work...The final logo design is aesthetically very pleasing to the eye and makes perfect sense for the field in which it is to be applied..keep up the good work!
Very interesting video. I've only had 1 customer to make a logo for (who didn't pay so i stopped designing) but getting a look at your proces really helps, because i had no idea how to start on making the logo.

Very nice job - I did lots of martial arts since early childhood, so this kind of project would be a dream come true. Logo psychology is a new concept for me, so thanks for introducing it. I've made some logos in the past, but never thought about the process itself being based on any particular theory. I haven't seen all your videos, but perhaps more videos on this concept of logo psychology would be beneficial for lots of us.
Generally, the arrow part you put on bottom left to fill the negative space is a negative sign. Mostly it is shown on top right to indicate growth and positive direction.
I am going to design my first concept for a client and all I could think of was how you would do it so came here to check out the video, and I'll use the process mentioned, thank you so much, it is an absolute gem❤️🤜🏻
Hey Satori, I loved this video because I wish I could have seen it in my twenties when I was studying. I'm a Designer working 100% in a company but I might come back as independent. One question triggers me: how do you deal with an uninvited third party? Because the client always have a wife/cousin/uncle that used to install Photoshop at home and give advices 🤣
i love the thought process that you put into a logo creating a logo is so daunting that it can be scary. The final logo that was chosen for Iron Grip is amazing and beautiful love the strength the lines the cleanliness of it and how it represents, love it.

The level of knowledge attained today seems unmeasurable to me. You judiciously decide on what not to do and what to when designing. In short, you made me grasp the meaning of the word 'design' differently; however, interesting. For whoever's curious to know the interesting thing I've learned; Design to me, *means problem-solving to make a work serve intended purpose yet elegant. *also means thinking thoroughly.

Like only logo or logo guide, supporting elements, do's and donts, colour combinations, relevant mockups etc. And how you restrict or control rounds of iterations and options. Maybe to someone this logo will look like it is too simplified or someone would not be able to see connection between logo and jiujitsu. But each time I look at it, it have more and more connection to jiu jitsu. For example the "hook" used in letter "g" is excellent. I did some jiu jitsu and there is move called underhook (it is in fact a important move) and this hook on your design immediately associated me with that. Also round part of "g" gives me feeling of gentleness and jiu jitsu is called "gentle art". I do not know if you knew this information when you did design. Logo is great.
