LASSI - The best refreshment drink in hot weather or when eating spicy food

    Lassi is a very popular drink in India and is a refreshing summer drink. Its base is yoghurt and can be made sweet or salty. We’re gonna show you both here. This is such a simple drink to make and is so creamy and refreshing we’re surprised it hasn’t caught on better in the western world but maybe after this … who knows?
    As it’s made from yoghurt, it also has health benefits for your gut and it keeps you hydrated as well as having a cooling effect on the body. Eating spicy? Nothing quite beats the effect Lassi has on cooling down the mouth after a particularly fiery dish. Its versatility is amazing.
    The ingredients set out below will provide 2 servings of each type.
    Why not try adding your own flavours like Mango (a common favourite) Strawberries etc?
    Lassi is best served immediately but could be stored in the fridge up to about 2 days.

    Sweet Lassi Ingredients:-
    480g Plain Yoghurt
    40 - 50g Granulated White Sugar (adjust to your personal taste)
    175ml Water (adjust to find your own consistency)
    ½ tsp Cardamom Powder
    ½ tsp Rose Water
    5-6 strands Saffron
    Crushed Pistachio Nuts (garnish)
    Salty Lassi Ingredients:-
    480g Plain Yoghurt
    ¾ tsp Cumin Powder
    ¾ tsp Black Salt
    175ml Water (adjust to find your own consistency)
    Mint Leaves (garnish)
