congratulations on the gold and silver coins. you are one of the only hunters i can watch without getting pissed off because you are funny and get properly excited when you find good stuff, and you dont go bragging about all the stuff youve found.
Don't feel bad, most treasure hunters go 40 years without finding a gold coin. You likely won't ever find another one again.... You could but likely not. Congratulations and welcome to that little club.
Dan, you are such a character. I've just found your channel and think it's great. I'm thinking of getting into this as a hobby. I hope you someday decide to make a few more videos.
Around 23:09. Looks like a funny sieve. It's the metal container of a pastille burner. 19th century perfumed candle or night lite for getting rid of smells before Febreze. Usually hidden inside a porcelain house or some such kitsch.
At 17:00 looks like a perfume bottle stopper / dabber. Attached chain so you don't lose it from the bottle. Some of these are very old and ornate with matching bottle collars where the chain would connect to.
Dan, I'm pretty sure that at 8:30 you have an ammunition can lid. German rifle ammo used to come in tins about that size and they were sealed shut with lead to keep moister out. If I remember right (and I may not, it's been quite a while since I've seen one of those cans), the can itself was made of zinc
The item at 17:27 is for a pocket watch. Possibly you wound the watch with the piece that you have, then you put the piece into your button hole with the chain extending out and that piece behind the button "T"-ed across on the inside of your jacket. It kept the watch safe from falling outside of the pocket or falling if you dropped it while telling the time.
Wow gold cleaned up good looks like it was just minted.... I couldnt sell it to cool .a 1000 congrats still like the 1907 but im wierd my oldest is a 43 american penny , 23 it is . best to you .
So happy for you! I really enjoyed watching this mostly to see how happy you were finding your ultimate "treasure" and seeing how excited you were! Atta boy!
enjoy all your vids keep digging wish i was there visited friends in straubing in 83 sure miss the good beer....happy digging! all i find is bolts and bottle caps lol
more on the bullet: the design is called a spire point. They were made for some time for the 9mm but I do not know if anyone still makes a mold. Google "9mm spire point bullet"
Hello dan . Wow you finally got gold , such a great find and it looks brand new ! That would make my day if I could find a gold coin ! But there are so many metal detectorist here in America is hard to find a place that someone has not already been ! Well done
I've just gotten into watching vids related to metal detecting, and you are quite interesting to watch when it comes to metal detecting. Interesting stuff, keep posting and sharing, awesome stuff.
Dan, its either a Roman stylus, or its newer cousin, the pen. Posh types after the days of the feather quill used to have an ornate pen with the nib on the end, and some times they also had wrting lead on the end.
Hey Dan, congratulations on your gold coin and the silver coins as well, mate, fantastic finds. Am just catching up on my video watching as weather is terrible here at the moment. This is a fantastic video and just about sums up what the whole hobby is about. Well done, mate, GL and HH, Ian.
Dan, your gold 10marks is kaiser 11. The A under the head denotes its the Berlin mint mark. There are a few different mint marks on the gold 20 marks , A being the easier to find out of all of them. On your 10 marks A the Berlin mint was the only one used of all different dates.
Awesome find!!! Beautiful gold coin!!!! I would take it to a jeweler and have him make a coin pendant with it so you can wear it each day. Congrats on the other finds too, a great hunt!!!
Sir, you are a rare Gentleman and always good for a honest laugh. One of my joys watching your adventures, is trying to figure out what you've found! I'm a retired shuttin and you allow me to join your adventures. Thank you!
great video Dan, congrats on the gold mate, and that camera makes all the differance, we can see now that you are quite young ,love your down to earth humour as well ,so keep them vids comming ..best wishes pat
3:18 ***** You're right i think but! its older i think because from some history channels ive watched that perfectly resembles some of the first bullets used as the riflings inside barrels of guns started to be ground into them
Yeah, definitely a bullet, you can see the lands and grooves marks from when it was in the gun. Very nice! I've heard about bullets shaped like that, but I've never seen one.
'It's GOLD !! It's GOLD !!!...... Get IN !!. , Really chuffed for you , I could tell you were quite pleased with it ;O).... and silver and some really other nice interesting finds, well done you. can't wait to find gold, What a feeling it must be .
Your right Dan, it is a bullet. They were a bit of an experiment I think late 17-middle 18's. They were used for better accuracy 2ith a shorter barreled musket. This was before they began riffling the inside of the barrel. It was not long, during its time ,before they begun using the cartridges which made the pointy projectile obsolete.
My friend Jetskijohn recommended I give your videos a watch. Well worth the effort. Fun and inspiration all the the one video. Marvelous, keep up the good work. :-) Gaz.
Ryan Mickley depends on a concave base for expansion to seat the bullet to the rifling. Claud Minnié of France is the guy who created the concave base and is why they are called Minnie bullets. They were used in the Crimean War also.
Am a bit late but well done mate you've beat me to it, you've struck gold, i don't know how i'd react if i found gold lol. All the other finds are good too but gold is unbeatable. Oh and loving the new HD footage, great vid mate, keep em coming. HH mate
Those pointy bits of lead you thought were bullets...well they are. Used in german hunting rifles in mid 1800's. In fact, probably the majority of the lead balls you found are from old hunting rifles/shotguns from the 1800's. If you google '1860 spitzer bullet nitroexpress' you will find a forum page that has pretty much all the bullets you found as well as info to what shells they go to. There was also a Norwegian paper wrapped military bullet with same pointy tip.
I noticed the gold coin has the same looking eagle with a crown that the large iron eagle you found in another video has. Thanks for entertaining us with your GREAT hunts.
That thing with the chain looks like a wax seal press. ??? However not to flat on the press side... Is there a detail on the end of the large side "pressing end"?
At 8:08 that thing that says felix whatever......I believe it could be a top to a bottle as I have an antique bottle with a similar top but it has a cork on the underside...kind of a decorative top to a bottle possibly.
Your pointed bullet is called a "paradox" bullet. it was a poppular style in the 19th century. They were used in single or double barrel hunting rifles. Hope that helps. Congrats on the gold coin. GL and HH Hugh
3:40 You are correct. a bullet. here is a similar bullet: www.dixiegunworks.com/product_info.php?cPath=22_99_311_313&products_id=3647 I have some bullets of this type somewhere. I can't recall if they are for one of my black powder revolvers or for a 9mm. they are not necessarily old. If they are dead-soft lead, they are likely for a black powder revolver. If made of hardened lead, they are likely for a more modern pistol.
just to let you know those large bullets are probably from Snyder breech loading guns also the small top with holes in it is a smoking pipe cover for wind or rain protection
Hi I saw in one of your older videos that you were looking for tips on how to tell the mettals apart. Well I am now at that stage :) Any ideas Deep Digger Dan. Cheers David.
Man that was funny :) The bit where you talked about your gold. Did you sell it of in the end and you hopefully got what you were lookin for it. Happy for you. Great video.
Lucky find, the 10 mark is scarcer then the 20 mark but is only half the weight. I am a numismatist ie coin collector and have collected these pieces for many years. The 10 marks is touching in weight 4grams, the 20 marks is touching 8 grams. The 2 and 5marks coins Kaiser Wilhelm 11 are .900 silver not quit sterling. How much did you get for gold 10 mark coin ? anyway Well done finding it.
congratulations on the gold and silver coins. you are one of the only hunters i can watch without getting pissed off because you are funny and get properly excited when you find good stuff, and you dont go bragging about all the stuff youve found.
some info:
1906 10 Mark coin from Prussia. It was minted from 3.982 grams of 0.900 fine gold which converts to 0.1152 ounces of gold.
DEEP DIGGER DAN,CONGRATULATIONS ON FINDING GOLD I HOPE THIS IS ONLY THE FIRST OF MANY SUCH FINDS.
Don't feel bad, most treasure hunters go 40 years without finding a gold coin. You likely won't ever find another one again.... You could but likely not. Congratulations and welcome to that little club.

Mr.DDD you should not stop making videos!your videos rock!
your golden coin im sure you found out by now but the tini tiny green shine glaring off it from the sun is a good sign ive been told
Around 23:09. Looks like a funny sieve. It's the metal container of a pastille burner. 19th century perfumed candle or night lite for getting rid of smells before Febreze. Usually hidden inside a porcelain house or some such kitsch.
Dan, The gold coin IS a gold 10 mark
Freidrich August III (1905)...composition .900 gold...nice find!
At 17:00 looks like a perfume bottle stopper / dabber. Attached chain so you don't lose it from the bottle. Some of these are very old and ornate with matching bottle collars where the chain would connect to.

So happy for you! I really enjoyed watching this mostly to see how happy you were finding your ultimate "treasure" and seeing how excited you were! Atta boy!
The round flat piece at around 5:00, that looks like it could be knee or elbow protection from army gear maybe?
really nice horse shoe at 8:45 , I have only seen pictures of them before
DRINKING GAME over 9000 shots of liquor, every time Dan says GOLD drink a shot, commence at 14:00!
enjoy all your vids keep digging wish i was there visited friends in straubing in 83 sure miss the good beer....happy digging! all i find is bolts and bottle caps lol
more on the bullet: the design is called a spire point. They were made for some time for the 9mm but I do not know if anyone still makes a mold. Google "9mm spire point bullet"
Good for YOU, Sir! BTW, that thing with the chain. It may be the opposite end of a pocket watch chain.
I confirm it definitely is!
I love it when the wisdom of old age works!
Deep Digger Dan, i love your energy especially when you find something of worth and Congratulations on your gold coin.
Hello dan . Wow you finally got gold , such a great find and it looks brand new ! That would make my day if I could find a gold coin ! But there are so many metal detectorist here in America is hard to find a place that someone has not already been ! Well done

Dan, the peice that looks like a crown is from an oil lamp. It is the ornate bracket that holds the glass to the lamp.
GET IN!!!!! nice one Mr. H.... you deserve all the luck you get mate!!
WOW !!! Great feeling isn't it.....Bloody well done my friend....more to come i hope, for both of us of course.....GET IN !!!......all the best..

at 24.08 is a Roman fibula and is 2000 years old.

Dan, your gold 10marks is kaiser 11. The A under the head denotes its the Berlin mint mark. There are a few different mint marks on the gold 20 marks , A being the easier to find out of all of them. On your 10 marks A the Berlin mint was the only one used of all different dates.

Congrats on your first gold! I am happy you were able to check that off of your list.
Congrats on the gold coin it is sweet & the silver is not to shabby either.Glad it's in HD as well. GL & HH
@24:50... it is a key to wind up pocket watches.....
that little pointy thing with the lil bit of chain I believe is a perfume bottle cap with the part to apply the perfume.
I believe the small item with the chain could be either a medieval powder flask top or from the top of a sprinkle bottle.
great video Dan, congrats on the gold mate, and that camera makes all the differance, we can see now that you are quite young ,love your down to earth humour as well ,so keep them vids comming ..best wishes
pat
Yes what an absolutely stunning gold coin, love it! Well done
3:18 ***** You're right i think but! its older i think because from some history channels ive watched that perfectly resembles some of the first bullets used as the riflings inside barrels of guns started to be ground into them
***** Mate you certainly found one of the first ever rifling bullets and you have the accompanying musket ball to prove it @4:18
Yeah, definitely a bullet, you can see the lands and grooves marks from when it was in the gun. Very nice! I've heard about bullets shaped like that, but I've never seen one.
Stephan Smith i think its the tip of a crossbow arrow

Awesome finds i believe those are bullet's and those handles with the dog and the deer are cool! and Great video funny stuff really amusing! GL and HH
My friend Jetskijohn recommended I give your videos a watch. Well worth the effort. Fun and inspiration all the the one video. Marvelous, keep up the good work. :-) Gaz.
That little thing with the rest of a chain is a key to wind up an early pocket watch.
The bullet you found at around 3:30 I think is a minie ball it was made during the American civil war
Ryan Mickley depends on a concave base for expansion to seat the bullet to the rifling. Claud Minnié of France is the guy who created the concave base and is why they are called Minnie bullets. They were used in the Crimean War also.
I also have a real sneaky suspicion that the lead handle you are referring to could be the handle of a knife....
Am a bit late but well done mate you've beat me to it, you've struck gold, i don't know how i'd react if i found gold lol. All the other finds are good too but gold is unbeatable. Oh and loving the new HD footage, great vid mate, keep em coming. HH mate

Absolutely amazing find! A gold coin is on everyone's list and I'm still looking for mine. Thanks so much for sharing the experience! Lady bugs LMAO!
I noticed the gold coin has the same looking eagle with a crown that the large iron eagle you found in another video has.
Thanks for entertaining us with your GREAT hunts.

Felix Meyer, came from Aachen, he was a businessman/inventor. Fantastic find, you deserved it!
6:50
bullet. it has lands and grooves cut into the base. bullet type is called Spire Point

One of the best vids ever Dan
good honest detecting. well done Merv.
Its a black powder bullet. It has a lube groove and a dished bass.
Send me a record of "COME ON GET IN!" Best fraise ever
Sorry, now that ive had a second look and can see that what I thought was a stylus is actually a plug for a beer/wine tap
I am really happy for you! Glad to be with you when you found it. At least on the other end of the video. lol
nice silver find at 648 and right after those lady bugs had me in tears laughing xD

Paul
just to let you know those large bullets are probably from Snyder breech loading guns also the small top with holes in it is a smoking pipe cover for wind or rain protection
8:41 I might be wrong but I am pretty sure that is a lid to a Russian ammo can
Hi I saw in one of your older videos that you were looking for tips on how to tell the mettals apart. Well I am now at that stage :) Any ideas Deep Digger Dan.
Cheers David.
Wow, that is a gorgeous coin, great condition!!
Dan,I think you are great man and I don't think you should ever stop digging because of what some idiots have to say about you. Come on get in

Man that was funny :)
The bit where you talked about your gold.
Did you sell it of in the end and you hopefully got what you were lookin for it.
Happy for you. Great video.
6 years later...still at it.!! 2018
They really do look like bullets from years ago. Especially when you see the 2nd one, well and truly.
What a Find !!
They might be Giants intro too !! win win : )
Those sharp metal cones you say are bullets. If they are not lead I bet they are practice Arrow tips. look at 5.29 of the Video
NICE!!! ALL of the finds are great. I would have died if I found that coin!
The ending reminded me of the Leprachaun movie.." gold and its all mine" lol but that most have been amazing to feel
Very nice find, Hope I find one some day too.
Love how you threw the musket ball at your head lmao
how do you choose the woods you go to? i went in some but only found rubbish and old tools
Nice! glad ya found gold! The lead thing looks like some sort of spigot?
Lucky find, the 10 mark is scarcer then the 20 mark but is only half the weight. I am a numismatist ie coin collector and have collected these pieces for many years.
