Really useful guide. Way too many people hate the game simply because they don't know how to avoid getting staggered. I'll try directing them to this video from now.
The game revolves around staggers but you can get around staggers with positioning and MS skills. Spiker and I are discussing the next video and considering terrain as a topic since it's another key aspect of avoiding staggers. Game modes are important too like tips for ace, when to bomb and where to hide, etc. We'll see!
Such a high quality video. I can really appreciate the love shown to the game here with elements like the coordinated custom server used to make the intro lol. Criminal that it has only 2k views
Woah wasnt expecting it to be a whole series of informative videos! So awesome to see people in the community doing stuff like this. I have about 1000 hours in the game and am gonna check them all out lol. Thank you for putting in the effort to make these 🙌
12:20 There are 2 types of evade after attack. Immediate evade and evade after a short boost. By pressing boost button twice slowly, the unit will do a short boost before evading. This lets the unit switch weapon during the boost. It's the same technique used in Banshee heavy claw combo.
We don't have that video yet but we do have a few examples you can try out now to fight on the left! Do be careful since they are very situational: 7:15 The video has me going to the right but the main idea is the same. If your suit has MA, boost out into the left and soak up that stagger. Once the stagger hits you (and is negated by MA), stop boosting and fire your own stagger. 8:06 Jumping out of left and landing a ranged stagger in the air (safer if you have fall prevention). Most enemies don't expect suits to be in the air and will have to aim up, giving you a slight window to stagger them first. 12:03 Rolling out into the left. Some enemies will shoot the moment you roll out so your dodge will negate that stagger. A bit of a gamble! On how to aim from the left corners, if your suit has a splash stagger weapon, you can shoot an area where it'll hit the enemy if they're right around the corner. You may need to back up so you can get a better angle (or not if you have a left-weapon suit like the Geara Doga Sturmfaust or wire). Hope this helps!
I didn't know Maneuver Armor and Forced Injectors paired so well. This entire time I didn't know you could use Forced Injectors to reset Maneuver Armor build stun and I've been playing this game since GBO1. Thanks for the tips!
Ah, I think we didn't explain that clearly. MA and Forced Injector to doesn't reset build stun. It's just nice to use with Forced Injector since you can boost again if you're expecting another regular stagger. Build stun still accumulates like usual
Also, in the "Heavy Attack" section. If an ms attacks the enemy ms when they release their heavy attack from behind, they will be put into a heavy stagger.
@@2MUCHWONG no I mean stuff like force injector, ambac control, etc etc. I can never remember what they do just by looking at the skills. Always easier to just get into test drive to try out what I can do
I'm glad spectator mode exists in GBO2 but man...it's tough to get everything filmed within the time limit and also not get kicked/punished for inactivity.
just wiggle left and right to make enemies miss their shots. just walk backwards and shoot them to make them miss mele attacks. peek around corners and shoot then hide back quickly. always shoot legs.
Indeed! A key skill to learn is moving left and right to make it hard for the enemy to hit you. It's extremely useful on fast moving suits like perfect gundam.
It definitely adds another layer of mind games, which is fun and frustrating. On console, it's also kind of awkward to use which is why I ended up installing back paddles on my controller for easier blocking.
On PC, I often host a custom room at night to get my dailies done. Otherwise, it takes about 1 hour to find a rated match (impossible to find a quick match)
Hello. Can I ask you something about a gameplay mechanic? This is the scenario. I have my melee ready, my opponent tackles me and when the "crash" ends, my opponent strikes me first with his melee. Same scenario, but, I was thr one who tackled. Why is it that everysingle time, my opponent beats me on th3 swing? Which stat should I look for and to know if my ms is slow.
After a tackle, you should be able to get your melee off first if you hold down the melee button and don't swing in a direction. Typically neutral melee comes out fast. If you hold down the melee button after the tackle, it'll automatically come out at the very first frame it can.
How do ppl recover so quickly from getting knocked down or staggered it takes me forever for some reason to get back up and i suddenly see these ppl get back up within like 2s while for me its like 4 or 5s is there a part i'm missing out on or something? Also seem to get hit or killed while doing evasive maneuvers but everyone else i see that do it take no damage during their evasive maneuver is it latency thing for me?
Some tank-like suits (Hildolfr) do recover faster than other suits. Otherwise, everyone should be getting back up the same time. By evasive maneuvers, are you referring to dodge rolling (double tapping boost)? Latency makes this a bit frustrating since you can take damage while dodge rolling (or even take damage while countering). It's a mix of luck and latency.
We haven't but I've stopped by few of your streams! Timezones makes it tough to play together but one day I'll be able to play in a custom match with you!
Stunlock mechanic is stupid, specially for big, bulky and slow supports. Even more when they do not have anything to resist that. There should be a limit for how many times you can be stunned in a row.
The flip side of the mechanic is that it encourages teamwork since teams need a solid frontline of suits that can soak up damage and staggers without getting stopped so the support can do their job. Also encourages the idea we've mentioned about covering your allies and constantly target switching rather than wailing on a single enemy for a combo Whether or not the generals actually do that job in a match is a different thing entirely BUT it's what should be happening and does happen in clan matches!
