To be honest, I'm not a fan of the fuddy duddy curtains (I'm in Ciara's camp), but how about you bring me one pair of curtains (maybe the bedroom ones) when I next see you and I will wash and reline them with blackout lining and you see what you think? You can then decide about the others. X

Thank you so much Howard! Glad you enjoyed, I'm not sure if we mention more about the engine service in the next video so will tell you now. It went well, oil definitely needed doing! It all seemed quite straight forward, but the fuel filter was a bit more fiddly. I think we will be good to do it by ourselves next time and can definitely be more on it with our oil change. As a general rule you should never back into a winding hole. Next time reverse past it then go forward and stick your bow in. That way you keep your prop in “known” water conditions
We very much agree with you! What you can't see on camera is that the winding hole is directly next to a weir and tunnel through to the lock which just made it impossible with our positioning to do that and so had to bodge it a bit. But a very wise tip! Thanks! - Izzie x

Green curtains are lovely, even more so with the mustard walls. Assess the existing backing for durability / life expectancy and if OK consider bleaching or dying - could save a few quid.
Remember if you make them black then it will be hotter in the summer.
Where could Izzie's job be? Theatres and water hmm i WONDER
Hi Derek! Will try and do some more composing challenges whenever we have time. They certainly are great exercises in terms of keeping me creative. Maybe we won't go for black blackout, we have heard rumours that white black out exists so maybe that? Who knows! - Izzie x

Dear Izzie and Ciara,
Izzie once again many thanks for sharing your music. Most of those who have a channel find music online, as you know, but having your own tunes provides a special personal touch.
As for the noise, OOO how I miss the rural life at Bears Backyard. That was a place where one could hear a ravens feathers as it flew overhead. Living in an urban setting one has to chose when they go outside due to the dogs barking, the kids screaming or the rowdy parties.
The other day I watched Vanessa's vlog. Vanessa lives on Alice Grace and I think you know her. She has a wonderful acronym when it comes to boat service. The letters are WOBBLE which stands for Water in the engine, Oil, Belts, Bilge, Level of drinking water, Electrical connections. I suppose "level of drinking water" could be exchanged for "Lubricants" as in the stern gland. Vanessa is OK if you use the acronym.
Izzie your Naughty Coots music is wonderful. I had to laugh as I listened with my eyes closed. What a little rescale your little coot must be LOL.
Ciara, I am much like you when it comes to thunder and storms. Find me a bed to hide under and I will be quit content.
Very excited for both of you regarding work. I know Lavender misses your energy when one or both of you are gone.
Finally, you two are two amazing women living on a very magical boat going forward on a magical journey. Looking forward to your next vlog.

Beautiful music, your voice is haunting. A lovely vlog, well done getting the acting job. I hope you let us know soon where to see whatever it is that’s being filmed. If the vlogs are getting too much just do the odd short one to let us know what’s going on, until you have got more time. Please don’t just disappear like so many other narrow-boaters have done. Glad they are clearing some of the weeds. I love the curtains with the yellow paint, they look quite expensive so laundering them and trying to save them would be a good idea, in my opinion. Hi Izzie and Ciara thanks for another enjoyable short film, the music sounds soothing i would like a copy of your next CD. You had no probs. with the winding round what was you worried about you breezed it, not like me after my Thames trip going up the river Kennet on strong stream with a over heated engine which kept cutting out when winding round, much to others amusement there's always something to sort out on a narrow boat it would be boring otherwise, it was nice to meet you Izzie in Oxford, both take care, look forward to the next one.

I’m not a fan of green in any shade, and I think it tinges your yellow wall to be yellow-green, but there’s something to be said for not creating more work for yourself in changing the curtains! Hopefully the engine service gave you the knowledge you wanted to change any upcoming little maintenance items yourselves; it all seems quite intimidating. You seem like people that would be easy to be friends with, and I appreciate that you’re sharing your narrowboat journey with all of us.
Thats fair enough! They are very much not top of the priority list either way, so maybe we should wait a bit more to decide what we actually want to do with them next. Hope you are doing well! Hello! I agree these little supermarkets are so expensive! You can make your own pesto with basil, olive oil, pecorino cheese and pine nuts, get a little blender and that's it. I like the green curtains but maybe a revamp will be good. Good news on some acting work I'm sure whatever you both do you will be great.😊x keep making the music 😊
Oooh I did used to make a lot more homemade pesto but found pine nuts way too expensive, but maybe I should see if I could get a big back outside of London as the shops here are all so tiny. Hope you are doing well - Izzie x

Happy wonderful Monday my lovely friends. Your visiting coot might be naughty, but they sound delightfully happy as they go about their malfeasances. I think we can find it in our hearts to forgive them. OK, I am taking quite a bit of delight in their antics. The naughty coot was just one of several seriously gorgeous musical interludes that you placed in this week’s episode.
This week, I house and dog sat for my son and daughter in-law at their home in Atlanta. They were traveling to a wedding in New Hampshire. The dogs and I enjoyed lots of play and daily walks. I read and wrote a bit in between. However, the Atlanta heat and humidity was unbearable and I am looking forward to heading home to Jodi and our cats tomorrow.
I am looking forward to next week’s video and hope to hear good employment news! You both work in a tough industry and I sometimes worry for you. But, I know that you love what you do and that counts for quite a lot in my book. Another thing that I give lots of points is the way people treat each other…guess what? You score high there too. Love each other this week as you will continue to be in my heart here in Ohio. Tim

The green curtains are lovely with the yellow walls a good wash should improve them then a rub up with brass wipes on the rods should be grand if the liners are loose you could get new one easy on line don’t worry about posting work must come first we all need cash o live tc both luv from the oldies 🤗🤗👍👍🌷🌺🌷

Yellow/gold and green is a lovely, regal combo. Maybe you coukd get some gold thread patterns embroidery on them? Great to see you back. Hi! I have a very specific question about boat life - how do you have the battery power for all the music equipment - piano, recording mic, etc? What voltage/watts/amps do they take, and how much do you have to run your engine to use them?
This is so bad of me but I think I checked the piano would work with our inverter when we bought the bought- we have a very capable one and I just have to run the engine in the day for an hour or so in winter. But honestly, I've never found it to draw a crazy amount of power! - Izzie x

@@theperformingartsandme My top tip would be to look for a boat with a bigger saloon space or a second bedroom/study! Mine definitely takes up a lot of room.
