Not Christian, believe in Civil Unions for anyone. But to punish a player that is religious for not agreeing with same sex marriage or "idolizers" or "alcoholics" or anything in that damn post is crazy. People seem to forget that he was the cover of a Gay magazine supporting the Convict Rugby team (known for being pro-LGBT) in Australia. He hasnt got a mean bone in his body, and he was treated like a criminal. Let him play and have fun. As an aussie I'll be cheering for him when he puts on that Tongan jersey!
I’m not religious in any way and agree with the right of gay marriage. It’s a right everyone should have as is the right to free speech as is the right to practice religion. Anyone who argues that you have a right to free speech but not to have to face any consequences is an idiot or a tyrant! I could understand if his personal sponsor decided not to continue sponsoring him but that’s as far as it should have gone.
I’m a queer Australian, and while it may seem harsh and unfair that Folau was punished in that way, especially considering how undeniably exciting and important he was for the Wallabies, I believe it was the right decision, as religion should not be an excuse for hate-speech against other groups. I understand and respect his right to his beliefs, however, these are specific beliefs that he reiterated on multiple occasions on his social media page, in his own time. That is discrimination period and demonstrates how weak the narrative is that is being promoted, truth stands defiant in the face of all opposition. As such if it was truth they were pushing then nothing others would say would affect the stance they had taken. Here is the truth, why should someone go against their moral compass to promote something they can't believe in because it goes against their beliefs, this goes for both sides. Here is another fact, truth welcomes challenge as it gives truth a platform to even further establish and validate itself.
It's religious discrimination. He quoted from the Bible which basically said if you sin repent or hell awaits. If it was a Muslim being told to repress their religiousness this would have never held but its OK to hate Christians.

I commend you on your understanding of free speech. I may not share if's position on damnation of those contrary to his families religion, but like many historic figures have stated/acted upon, i will defend his right to say it, to the death. Society, not just rugby, is in profound danger of using sensitive issues to control populations. I love rugby & he was truly a world great player. What a shame, but what a current tonga team? Thank you for your sincerity & objectivity. Very welcome in todays dawn of control.
A good analytical review. Me, personally as a Straight White Atheist, I don't really have a problem with Folau's social media posts. I don't agree with them but I also think it's important to see what religious bigots really think and I believe in their right to share their opinions under the premise of free speech. I think he should be allowed to play. Also, it is a shame that religious mumbo jumbo has warped an otherwise healthy mind.
What pisses me off is that Izzy is a well known highly devoted Christian yet media thought “let’s see what he thinks about homosexuality” then everyone was shocked when he gave a religious response. First of all athletes shouldn’t be asked political questions because it’s not their fucking job to have push politics. And second, nobody gives SBW the same treatment for converting to Islam which is known for having the same stance as Christianity being against homosexuality.
Villain? He was a hero for making a stand - way ahead of the curve. Just look at the state of things now?! We should have heeded his warnings. His treatment by media and Australia was unforgivable. He’s a legend and I’m cheering him on! Go Israel 👍👍🏴🏴
Some sportsmen have behaved really, really badly, without being driven out in the way Folau was for expressing a traditional Christian teaching... The double standard sinks.
That’s pretty eye-opening how players were only allowed to comment if they disagreed with Folau but those who supported him were gagged. Talk about bias!

I wonder if anyone else can see this was the start of the end for freedom of speech in Australia. Disgraceful how they treated Folau. Everyone has a right to their own beliefs and opinions regardless of your social status.
What really makes me scratch my head is that journos to this day, continue to ignore the fact that Izzy posted a LIST of people, but yet they only ever mention a stance of homophobia.
Poor decision by Rugby Australia, proven by settling. I wish they went to court to settle the wrong decision once and for all. He should still be playing for Australia. On a side note he was a better centre than a FB. Look at his rugby season as a centre with the Waratah’s broke the try scoring record. In my opinion he was always a better runner on the off load, line breaker and fender when running. The FB position needs to know how to read the whole game, know where the gaps are forming and know when to support the running play and when to get back. Izzy didn’t have the rugby brain.
Amazing player, he used to be the best fullback in the world IMO. Still can't believe that he was punished by his ideologies... The Wallabies never found a good replacement for him
I played Rugby Union for 16 years and i learned that the most intolerant players in the game , were actually the gay players . Case in point , i was playing a quarter final against a team and half the opposition team we played , were actually gay . The papers for a week were hailing them , as landmark players for the game just because they were gay . Just before the game started the opposition team approached the ref to talk with him . The ref then came up to us and told us , that the team had made a complaint against us and he would not put up with any homophobic slurs against the opposition team during the game. That was the first time we had ever had , an accusation like that levelled against us . We didnt give a damn they were gay , but that accusation sure did piss us off . By the time the game ended , we had thoroughly flogged them on the pitch 45 - 3
It's amazing that politicians can say whatever they want through social media, who let me remind you, are nothing but servants of the people. But Folau, cannot express his own views on social media, is ridiculous. Whether you agree with him or not, it is his right to freedom of speech. It has become obvious to many people, that the political structure needs to change. Something is very wrong with the present system in place, and does not work for the people any longer.

Can't wait to see him play, a shame it won't be in gold because we still have no fullback. What a joke Raylene Castle was to the game 🤦
It's not that he was censored it's that he was contractually obligated to be an ambassador and was warned that if he continued to breach his contwoukd be terminated he breached it again and was dismissed for his behaviour.
💯 you can't have a game that claims to be for everyone and then somebody who only wants certain people to be alive.
@@jestersage8700 no they would be sacked if they were preaching hate speech.
What the media did to him and his wife was disgraceful
True Father and Son relationship displayed here. Dads immovable respect will carry on in the Folau bloodline Forever. Integrity at its Finest something this Ugly world Hates and won't understand. God Bless Izzy your Reward in Heaven will be the Best your ever received.
a amazing guy.
a incredible incredible athlete.
a man of principles, character with good intentions.
freemdom of speech for all.
real tolerance from all.
Why would he be the most hated player at the world cup? I'm gonna be cheering for him
Guttered for Folau, even having to miss this years World Cup…
Such a shame! Tonga are looking good though
@@uggy thank you for this video, really put things in perspective and I didn’t even know there was a doco about him - fa’afetai lava bro
Well said
What pisses me off is that Izzy is a well known highly devoted Christian yet media thought “let’s see what he thinks about homosexuality” then everyone was shocked when he gave a religious response. First of all athletes shouldn’t be asked political questions because it’s not their fucking job to have push politics. And second, nobody gives SBW the same treatment for converting to Islam which is known for having the same stance as Christianity being against homosexuality.
Really enjoued this. Great content. Someone that can stand firm in whatever they believe in shouldn't be sacked from their job
Extremely informative video. Thank you
Thanks for watching and the comment!
Villain? He was a hero for making a stand - way ahead of the curve. Just look at the state of things now?! We should have heeded his warnings. His treatment by media and Australia was unforgivable. He’s a legend and I’m cheering him on! Go Israel 👍👍🏴🏴
Izzy is a real Deal.
God bless you brother
Izzy forced us Saffas to contest 'Gary Owens' and be good at it. Thank you sir.
He never devided the sport your media did
Haven’t watched a wallaby’s game since.
Some sportsmen have behaved really, really badly, without being driven out in the way Folau was for expressing a traditional Christian teaching... The double standard sinks.
Imagine if he waved a rainbow flag and heterosexual males were goung to hell....🤔 Probably get a knighthood
🤣🤣🤣
The lad has his beliefs and hat the modern world disagree with. He's been punished let him go back to what he should stick at... On the rugby pitch
I'd shake his hand. Great man
You got my vote Folau🙏 ...if God is for you who can be against you🙏
That’s pretty eye-opening how players were only allowed to comment if they disagreed with Folau but those who supported him were gagged. Talk about bias!
He upset the alphabet people
Once Folau was let go Australian rugby hasn't been the same...
Izzy the missing link to the wallabies. And I'm happy he's playing for tonga Everytime he played you know he's gonna carve up even now hes still better than any fullback in Australia
Folau is and always will be a legend Standing up for what he believes in and speaking the truth from the bible 🙌
They definitely have lost a Super Talented Player .
Best fullback ever ❤
A real man, on and off the field 💪
Appreciate the info.. When Izzy left, he took the Wallabies chance at winning rugby games with him😂!
I'm more concerned about Folau turning out against Ireland in September!
When surrounded by 25+ GOD FEARING TONGANS it doesn't matter if your the most hated🤷🏾♂️🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
😂😂😂
Best player of his time dedicated to God Yahweh Go big my brother
No
Folau was never a villan in the first place. Alot of people supported him espeically some of the pasifika brothers who are Christian.
Dude could’ve been the best fullback in the world if his career wasn’t derailed
... he just played in the Tonga side that beat Australia A.
After watching this, just wondering who were the ARU lawyers that wrote or agreed to Izzy's contract- major F*** up.
MOST HATED? By who? non rugby players?
Haha check some of the comments about him on other rugby channels! Plenty love him, plenty hate him.
@@uggy on this channel more loves him l do
is there anywhere one can watch this two part documentary for free online? especially if we are not in australia?
Not sure if anyone partners with the ABC - you might have to set up a VPN then access it
@@uggy thanks, i just set up my free account with my email with ABCiview but am having some trouble with the video actually loading. looks like it most likely just wont be available if outside australia
@@maddssmithy ahh bugger, I’ll do some digging for you!
Poor Nic White 🤣
🤣🤣 good clip with the mouth guard too
@@uggy yeah mate loved it!
Don't think Nic White has 3.1 million dollars to soak up his tears.
One thing about true Christians they never back off from their faith as apostle Paul says, To live is Christ and to Die is Gain, for I’m not ashamed of the gospel for it is the power of God unto salvation for everyone who believe
I'm a Papua New Guinean Christian and I stand with my Tongan brother Israel Folau!
He should be allowed because everybody has a right to express their beliefs.
And the employer has a right to terminate
Good to have him back in the international game.
I wonder if anyone else can see this was the start of the end for freedom of speech in Australia. Disgraceful how they treated Folau. Everyone has a right to their own beliefs and opinions regardless of your social status.
Hes entitled to his opinions tragedy that he was cancelled for it
Loved the last sentence of the video !!! Would love to see Tonga beat Australia with Falau scoring the winning try.
This man has done nothing wrong
He is a very good player. I'm not worried about his religious beliefs.
It's absolutely ridiculous how the public view him as a villan when he did nothing wrong.
He said gay people are going to burn in hell? That’s pretty messed up man
@@jimmymann1496no it isnt and if they dont believe in hell whats it matter? You are off
Your media did this you may have won the world cup in Japan had he had been on the field
Where do we find his documentary?
On the ABC iview website
the reaction shows the world is worried...I mean, what if he is right
If he's right then the tooth fairy and father christmas will be laughing at us all
Now wallabies are out of the World Cup...
TGBTG
What really makes me scratch my head is that journos to this day, continue to ignore the fact that Izzy posted a LIST of people, but yet they only ever mention a stance of homophobia.
One day they will all know that he was right, for many it will be too late.
And of course, you know this to be true
The Wallabies never found a good replacement for him
As a Christian, he just said what the bible says. Whatvhappened to the right to religious freedom and free speech?
Just subbed: keep up the great work
I played Rugby Union for 16 years and i learned that the most intolerant players in the game , were actually the gay players .
What kind of crazy world do we live in where we cannot recognise someone's ability because of their opinions outside the pitch?
It's amazing that politicians can say whatever they want through social media, who let me remind you, are nothing but servants of the people. But Folau, cannot express his own views on social media, is ridiculous. Whether you agree with him or not, it is his right to freedom of speech. It has become obvious to many people, that the political structure needs to change. Something is very wrong with the present system in place, and does not work for the people any longer.
Issy did not split the sports. Each and everyone has his/her own view /oppinion and with the help of media made the sports and fans pick sides👍...Issy's oppinion and beliefs was put on media to make their ratings and sell 👌 could have been your oppinion or mine👍but we just not good enough for their ratings.ill give you a test...try sell your oppinion on TV..I promise you will stir up some nests and if you are a celebrity that target is locked for ratings👍
All the best in what you do Toko. Good luck in your world cup prep🌴🕺🏽much Love to you and fam 👊Godbless 🙏
The sick system decided to favour woke garbage and introduce it to sport!! He is a man of courage and conviction. It is Australian rugby's shame and loss to have excluded him. He is the best that Australia has ever had
A real mess of a situation. On the one hand Folau has the right to say what he believes. That of course brings consequences (positive or negative). There is something that I do often wonder: We saw this in the last couple of weeks in tennis at Roland Garros. Is there really a need to "use your public platform" to air your views? Does it really make any difference?
No
Israel Folau is one of the greats and he has been treated disgustingly. Christians have always held these beliefs. This is about scaring Christians into being silent in the face of the growing push for LGBTQblah blah blah
The world hated hated him as they hated Jesus. Folau is the man 💯
