    Probably the nicest example of a brick oven build that I’ve seen, would be nice a a series of videos to explain the process. Nicer outcome than most professional kits!

    • @ShopperPlug
      @ShopperPlug 3 года назад +6

      Check for the youtuber "The Melbourne Fire Brick Company". The man has blessed the world with free professional how to design a pizza oven from dead scratch, the guy is an engineer and he makes the firebricks, refectory motor and the plans of building the oven. He also provides a complete kit of different ovens if you don't feel like buying the parts. His RUclips channel and website has a complete long videos of how to precisely build the oven and even explains the theory of why and what is being done as building the oven. I'm building mine from his videos.

    • @fieldfurnacerefractoriespt990
      @fieldfurnacerefractoriespt990  3 года назад +2

      Yes, he has lots of videos and i have built a few of his ovens which are OK, but I'm not a fan as there are much simplify and better ways of constructing a brick oven. Which gives better performance and much more enjoyment in the building process and longevity for the oven.

    I like this build, encourages me to do the dome. Did you notice the buckets of water and sponges? He cleaned the outside of the structure as well as smoothing out the stucco finish. That's what I liked the most. No residue traces.

    • @fieldfurnacerefractoriespt990
      @fieldfurnacerefractoriespt990  3 года назад

      Cleaning as you go is much easier and make the whole build easier, sponging the render takes all the trowel make out.

    • @guysmiley1757
      @guysmiley1757 Год назад

      I think that the water is to wet the bricks before applying. Those fire bricks are like sponges, and if you don't wet the bricks first, they will soak up all the moisture from the mortar, and make for a weak bond. I keep my fire bricks in a bucket of water before installing.

      Most likely a sand dome. Build a plywood platform inside the oven first. Then stack wet sand into a dome shape. Then lay the bricks onto the sand dome. Once dry, then remove the plywood and the sand from inside.

    • @javiertorresfernandez3533
      @javiertorresfernandez3533 3 года назад

      i saw in other video that a yoga ball is used inside the dome to support the bricks in place in a perfect round shape, then the ball is disinflated once everything is dry.

      They are Insulating fire bricks, not ceramic fiber board. Fiber board is not structural and will deteriorate and compress from the weight and the weather. Insulation fire bricks are very light and strong, also weather proof.

    • @benshotton6272
      @benshotton6272 4 года назад +2

      @@renehernandez558 Thermal conductivity. Clay bricks are more conductive than ceramic fibre. The more insulation your pizza oven has, the better it will work.

    • @DavidAlanReece
      @DavidAlanReece 4 года назад +1

      The insulation is absolutely necessary. There are several reason to use it. First, it provides insulation between the firebricks used inside and the exterior to keep the exterior from reaching temperatures that would decrease the lifespan of the covering as well as keep the exterior cooler to the touch. 2nd, it does provide additional insulation for the interior that helps keep the temperatures regulated. It provides a buffer so that the interior will heat evenly and maintain an even heat throughout the entire oven which in turns reduces the amount of fuel needed. So Shaban is correct in his comment.
