Problem with the name trick, most people who've played for a good while used it already before the level cap got raised. I started playing a month after it came out and used them already.
Same. I played it the week it released and used up all the names, before the cap was lifted, sadly. It sucks that they make it a requirement, so now only new players get the advantage of using the name trick.

Gotta grind Eevee for the evolutions now. Did it all in a day, the exception being Sylveon which I used the name trick for. Got to the next level that same day

Whenever I mass transfer, I search “0*” and delete any lower cp (1500 or below) mons, then I do the same with 1* and then if needed, 2*
Make sure to check for nundos, I think they're actually rarer than hundos
@@arcticgamers123 They are, but they really aren’t useful for anything. Just takes space for F2P players. Hundos are at least usable.

I know this is embarrassing but when i first started playing i thought double xp eggs were normal egg and used all the eggs i had and wondered why i didn't got any baby pokemon 🤦♂

Eevee is a common spawn. The ONLY random evolution is the first three. All of the other Eeveelutions have a set method to evolve.

For those who are new to pokemon go here are the eevee name tricks to evolve 8 only: Pyro - Flareon, Rainer - Vaporeon, Sparky - Jolteon, Kira - Sylveon, Sakura - Espeon, Linnea - Leafeon, Rea - Glaceon and Tamao - Umbreon.

Google never told me about one time use of Eevee's name. It just told me that changing names can evolve eevee to specific evolution. Now I'm in trouble and make that double.
I used to not check ivs but recently started to check em. This was a great reminder
If you trade someone who used the name trick it gets rid of that name for you to use I know this because I traded someone for Eveelutions and they were specially named so when I tried to use them it didn’t work so now I have to somehow get a glacial and mossy lure module 😅

The name trick only works once. But it also only works if you haven't evolved it the normal way. I tried to do the name trick to evolve hundo umbreon, but I already evolved umbreon the normal way and it didn't work
I think this video really should’ve included how easy it is to look at your 0,1, and 2 star Pokémon all at once. That’s the easiest way to mass transfer.
I saw an Eevee evolving and immediately knew the Eevee names were on the list. I’ve used 2 names so far for Umbreon and Sylveon. Both of them were shiny

I never knew I accidentally transferred 3 hundos. I saw my 4* Dex and it said I registered poliwag, popplio and clauncher. I never knew I had hundos of them.

@@AustinBeasley0428 he probably saw in his 4* Dex that there was a Pokémon he doesn’t have a 4* of in his storage but is registered

I never knew you could just put a number and a star at the end of it,that makes looking for stats so much easier,I only have one 4 star which is a fennekin from the community day,too bad it wasn't a shiny,but it's still very cool that I got my first 4 star mon

There has been IV since Gen 1 but they got a big change in gen 3. EV and IV

So many of these i did, but because at the points of doing them, iv checking wasn't a thing before, the eeveelutions happened before the level cap increase, and the iv thing again for the last one in the past.
I’d save those Eevee nicknames for the shiny Kanto variants.

Evolving the eevees without the name trick is more than doable within the time it takes to reach level 42.

My mate started a new account and did all the Eevee name tricks. I told him he wasted name tricks cos umbreon, espeon, leafeon, glaceon and sylveon can all be evolved without using them. He didn't even do a random evolution to see what he got. Used all names

I've used the eevee name trick,but for some reason sakura never works,so I have to rely on randomness and hope that it's an espeon cause that's the only evolution I'm missing,I can't figure out why the sakura name doesn't work
All you have to do is make it your buddy walk for 10km and evolve during the day, that should work
Don’t have to type anything to search for 4 star, shiny, legendary, XXL, or XXS. It’s an option in your search bar in your Pokemon tab. All you have to do is ⭐️ all the ones that are in those categories then delete everything else.
I stopped playing in 2018. Came back this year and started clearing out pokemon I didn't need, luckily I was online and learned how stupid I am.

Save the name trick on eevees for fire/water/electric shinies. Eevees evolve to a random of these 3 types without name trick.

Level 43 or the Go Beyond update came much later than the debut of the eeveelutions. People had already used up the tricks back in 2016/17

Another noob mistake is evolving specific Pokemon too early when they will usually get a special move when an event occurs. I have a fully evolved Venasaur with near perfect IV's, and as of this comment, there's an event that's going on where if you evolve your Ivysaur within the time of the event, you'll get a Venasaur with a very powerful exclusive move. I should have saved my Ivysaur for an event like this, but I wasn't thinking.

Yeah the eevee name trick got me. Somebody mentioned it on the FB group when I'd just re-joined in 2021, I got excited because I had a bunch of really good ones already and didn't want to worry about the randomness. The next week someone posted a PSA about needing it at lv43. So here I am at Lv42, with a bunch of eevees re-ready to go with buddy levels up and lure modules saved 🙄
the first mistake, yeah i actually did that once, i accidentally transfered a hundo zangoose without realizing it, i realized it in a few months when i was looking at the hundo Pokedex and there was a zangoose, i searched it in my pokemons and there was non their so the only explanation is that i transferred it 😭

The eevee name changing trick cant be blame by old gamers of this game! I mean that trick has been around before they came out with the level 50 thingy..
And here I got 2 umbreon 1 flareon,1leafeon just randomly in my bed, but never got eeve even after going to the nearby location...
When ever my Pokémon storage is getting full I click the 0,1,2 filter, go to the bottom and select transfer on all of them up to 1000 cp and before I transfer I search shiny and make sure I unselect all of them I use the rest a Pokémon above 1000 for gyms so I can save up for storage

I used the Eevee name trick back when I didn't really know much or cared about IVs. I just wanted my Vaporeon instead of the 12 Eevees that evolved into Flareon.
Sorry if this is a silly question, what does IVS mean? Also when he mentioned checking for them- how? I just started playing again for the first time since 2016/2017 lol
@@chloex2883 IVs is the thing when you catch a Pokémon and have it appraised by your team leader, whichever team you picked, red, blue, or yellow. Perfect IVs would be 15/15/15, but that changes if you want to use the Pokémon for Great League battling. Every Pokémon is different so it is best to Google search what their particular “best” IVs should be. Not a silly question. It can get confusing. 😂😅

I’ve used the name trick three times on my account since launch for vaporeon Jolteon and flareon and it worked every time 3x each
I’m at a level 30 something and did the name trick with all my eevee evaluations except for one. That was before they changed it to what it is now. So yeah.

One of the first things I did in Pokémon go was the name trick and I didn’t know this!
Whenever I played pokemon, when it was commynity day, I always only caught one pokemon because I thought I only needed one pokemon because then it's mine
Glad to know that I was playing it correctly, even when I first started out. Lol
I have them sorted and tagged.
There are "Arena Fillers". Pokémons that are over 1000 but have bad IV's, so I just keep them around to put them into an arena and send them away once they are back.
Anything from 90 on gets tagged as "Evolving" and "90+IV". Self-explanatory.
4* are just favorites to make sure I can't send them away
And Shinys, legendaries, mythicals, events, etc. Are all under the NYIDSTA tag, which is short for "No you idiot don't send them away"
There are some Pokémons that don't get tagged but also not sent away. Those are simply fighters. Anything that has a bad IV but is over 2000
Omg! I just figured out that it works with the shinies too if you've already used it on the regular eevees!!! Now i know that the eeveelutions are a freaking quest, I'm gonna save this! Cause i started playing back in 2016 but have played on and off since then, cause it got repetitive at the time. It's a lot more interactive than it used to be, so hopefully i can get somewhere now 😅 i used most the name tricks back when the game first came out, so I'm glad to find out that the trick works on event and Shiney poke`s too.

I actually went on to evolve a really good pokemon a few weeks ago. I had completed a raid and got a very lucky 100 IV sneasel. I went on to evolve it after completing the buddy challenge for it
I’ve been using the name trick now for a few years and they have worked multiple times
A large issue that some do is evolving early, when they could wait a few weeks/months for a community day/cday classic to come around.

When I first used the name trick they only had up to level 40. So niantic pulled some bs w that one. OG players would’ve had know way to know they’d do that in 4 years 😂

The name thing should be anytime thing since the stone evolutions were always a on your call decision.
For sure wasted all my eevee name evolutions. To be fair there wasn't a proper appraisal system back then, or a way to pvp somebody. Also I'm currently doing all the eevee evolutions to reach level 42. Not sure if this was changed. But as of writing you have to complete all eevee evolutions at level 41 to reach 42.
i hated when i got so many good pokemon just for them to add IVs late in the game. so all of my transferred pokemon would’ve probably been 4* or even my 3000cps are only0-2 stars
And a mistake that I found in this video, some people do not want to do competitive battling. They would only want to do the in battle thing against Team Rocket and would want a certain Pokémon back without waiting like a Million days from the gyms and want to fill in the dex

Before 2020, i definitely transferred 4 stars. I didn't have any for a long time and I figured welp I must have transferred hundos and nundos

I only have 1 tag I use, it is for anything 3 or4 stars so I know which ones to keep
