I know nothing about Final Fantasy 11 except for small bits of stuff i find on the wiki, but I think he's pretty cool. I didn't know any characters until Shantotto and Prishe from the previous Dissidia games and I like them a lot. I wish people were more open to the idea that these characters need a chance to shine just as much as any other character.
Actually as an 11 fan this guy was really low key, very forgettable and not a particularly important, impactful or interesting character. They had way more interesting choices than him which is the biggest problem. I do, however, love spellblades and enspellers so I really like what they did with him.
Especially Shantotto, would definitely love to play as her considering every other FF game makes it look like she's the most overpowered character In the franchise.
In Final Fantasy XI, Red Mage could use en-spells to enchant elemental properties to their weapon. So, this is why he is called a Red Mage if you played Final Fantasy XI. Above all, Kam'lanaut comes from Final Fantasy XI, therefore it is accurate to call him a Red Mage.

Yeah, Mystic Knight is similar like this ,but Mystic Knight can only unleash the elemental blow once entirely before they can re-cast the spells properties again to unleash another blow. Also, Red Mage's en-spell from Final Fantasy XI has a time duration for the buff to wear off and rinse and repeat to do it all over again.

The two themes used in this video aren't even his. Realm of Emptiness is Promathia's theme, though it does play when you fight him with his older brother Eald'narche in the quest 'Apocalypse Nigh.' The one after is Fighters of the Crystal, which is the Ark Angels theme. When you fight him alone, he just has the default FFXI:Zilart boss theme (Tough Battle #2 I think it's officially called).
Since FF11 never got much publicity since it was more about the community and the main villains could only really be known by actually playing through FF11's monumental story, I never even knew who this guy was. FF11 was fun and deserves more attention at least. And they didn't put Hildebrand from FF14 in here? That's my main pet peeve imo
Meanwhile, their popularity is a massive contrast. So many people love Sephiroth outside Japan, while in Camel Nut's case, mostly Japanese people and some FFXI fans outside Japan like him.

This, however, doesn't give him Ignition, Liquification, etc. Those are Esoteric Scrivening debuffs. Each one applies debuffs depending on the Element of the Scrivening (Ignition = Plague + Burn + Attack Down. Terrafication = Potent Slow + Rasp + Defence Down). Scrivenings can be killed by their Elemental weakeness, though, but only if it's magic. They have high physical defence. If you don't kill an Esoteric Scrivening, they can become a clone of Kam'lanaut at 100% HP. Spirits Within (short sword Weapon Skill in FFXI. Is not a ranged attack) and Intervene (level 96 *Paladin* Job Ability) are skills he does not have in FFXI.
I was hoping for Caius, but at least is a villain. An interesting character. Neutral attacks with buff pisses on Bartz's Mystic Knight. What a range, for the love of... And he'll come alongside the new soundtrack so it will be awesome. (Many of us surely only put Triumph arrangement in our soundtrack list I think)
He seems interesting to play... but I wish there was some sort of free trial to test out characters before deciding to purchase them. It might hurt business but it could also help by removing the hesitation in buying a character you have never tried before.

Reverse 012 Vann to be exact. If Vaan uses the same move, the second one will be worse. Kamlanaut subsequent move becomes better instead. But Kam'lanaut get buff that differentiates a bit further. Any attack hit makes all of his element blade buffs extended. which mean he gets rewarded from both landing the same move and different move

I’m aware of the toxic fanbase in this thread but they no nothing of a fun character when they see one he’s a very fun character n very cool antagonist I never bought him but still trying to I wanna use him he looks really sick also he be a very fun character in super smash bro’s hopefully he can get added to that one day alongside sephiroth
zack skills is similar to a mime. as he can adapt to any charaters and alter them. such as cloud meteorain and sephiroth octaslash. the only original attack he has is chain slash; which is almost similar to cross-slash. so the only skills he would have are the materia he used from crisis core; like assult twister. which is similar to blitz in FFXIII. if another character from 7 its either tifa, vincent, aerith or yuffie. cause those 4 are getting more spotlight than the other members.
I wish they had used ignis for this role instead he would av made a good mystic knight style character. But I guess they got to keep FFXI fans happy too. I'm still hoping they changed there mind from the data mine and they put Vincent in I would pay a extra £20 not even joking
