- Leaving plenty of room for improvement for next year, but very satisfied with my first time racing!
During the race I had no clue how far at the front or back I was, so I just tried to finish. Ended up placing 17th out of 320 and third in the under 30 category!

I appreciate this video because it shows how much easier it is to make mistakes when you are fatigued. It seems more real than some of the pro videos. They are more practiced at cleaning the camera lens. Great job, and terrific race.
Amazing, man! This was REAL. You killed it. This is so instructive. It shows how much speed is your friend (and the opposite your enemy) on those boulder strewn upper slopes. Line choice is important every step of the way. Fatigue is real. Psychology overcomes physiology in the bottom third when muscles are burning. Fun can be a savior. And just going for it overcomes logic. What a great run. You have the strength and ability. Now you know. Next time will be even better.
This is a great comment. Every word is true and it is encouraging.
Dude you were so pissed then had so much fun. The screams of that guy in agony was awful. Loved this amateur run. Thanks for sharing! Will follow
This really shows how hard it is: almost as exhausted as you by the end of it: just watching. great effort.😀
Funny to see myself ride, i am the Guy in fluo yellow 😂 number 1218. Need to step up my flow on the trail😂! Good race👌
AHHH, next year we'll be quicker!
Props buddy
I read that comment in exactly moment you are pushing your bike. Good race.
I'm no pro or even good at mountain biking so take this for what its worth... but I've seen quite a few videos from Killian and Damien etc... those guys are not too far ahead of you in pure skill and talent in my opinion. You are almost there! With some high quality training and technique mastering you are right there with them. In fact I would put you in the same room as them. If you haven't already.. I would say find a way to connect with them and just be around them. (if you aren't already) I think with this performance you proved yourself as a capable rider with a lot of talent and bright future. You already know what you need to do. NOW GO DO IT! Great work man and I can't wait to watch your progress!
@@Lacyb07 thank you so much for this comment. I have been training a lot after this try. We'll see what that will do next year!
That's what me & my hubby were saying, solid rider for sure!
Followed your whole ride with a spinning pass Amazing live feeling. Great ride, enjoyment, fighting spirit and positivity
I just watched another of Kilian's vids from several years ago (manic man! ❤❤😂 ), and thought I need to watch someone from back in the pack(!)... and see how the crowd of riders gets through the kilometers of narrow zones, the big-azz rocks and tight trees.
So I've just watched your first 15sec racing, paused it, and am looking forward to your descent, up to 17th(!) place. That's wicked good!.
More to come.
Thank you for this wild rollercoaster ride.
Unbelievable dude, this vídeo was amazing. I've never seen a megavalanche video like this. From Brazil here.
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it!
I love the start of these races, total mayhem and chaos. Great run.
Really nice job of closing those gaps and passing once clear of riders. Respect!
Thanks! 👍
thanks man, great ride in tough conditions, that mud looked so slick, well done
@@reeceholmes8546 The part where the people were standing still in front of me, you could barely stand still, let alone walk around#
I was going to say how great it was to see an ordinary cyclist doing the Megavalanche, as opposed to the usual top professionals. However, the more I looked at it the more I realised that any participant who can complete the course could not be deemed by any standard 'ordinary'. They are all EXTRAORDINARY!! It does just go to show though how exceptional are the likes of Kilian Bron, Damien Oton etc. Like the highest standard athletes in all sports, they have the ability to make the incredible look reasonable!
Always nice to see a different view than the pros. He started way too far behind and was slowed down behind by some crashes.
Estoy muy emocionado, espero mas adelante poder participar, buen video.
That was a most enjoyable video and I admire your skill, determination and pure bloody mindedness. Subscribed and look forward to you racing again.
Thanks, loved it!
Heel gaaf om je zo veel mensen te zien inhalen!
Holy moly, that's what I call "Hardcore Downhill " 💪👊🍺
I'm apparently your newest SUBSCRIBER 🍓🇩🇰 I do hope for more videos like this one..
- It could be 👌if there also was some "Attitude / Height" on map. ✊ ✌ 🍺
You'd want my attitude and height on there?;)
Can certainly do altitude next time!
@@ErikPruijssen GREAT. Looking forward to watch your next videos.
Bravo ! You are fit, incredible. Next year, try with the pros. 👍
In the mud, even with the fall and technical problems, still an excellent downhiller. Work on the physical condition for climbing and next year it's TOP 10.
@@yorgTube that is the goal for next year!
Thanks for the upload. Very thrilling. just subscribed.
You got a like a sub bro great job this was fun👊
Awesome run
Amazing run wow, Sucks for the mud and stuff hope that one racer in the end is ok x,..,x, what a rush :D
Yeah, I found the racer in the end. He was sort of okay!
@@ErikPruijssen Poor guy hope it was nothing serious, Sounded very painful though.
Mooie rit kerel 💪🏼💪🏼
Volgend jaar ook maar mee doen?
@@ErikPruijssen zeker voor in!!!
Excellent race, incredible the effort and strength that you have... it would be incredible if you could put a camera that was watching behind you.
First :D, Thank you Erik watching now, Have a great weekend!
wet forest hard test

My Dream Event❤❤❤
Great Ride
Yes it was!
Greetings from 16th Place - 1667 :)
Good job !
Thank you! Cheers!
totally mad, some better bike maintenance and more torque on your allenkeys would have helped me thinks. There is a huge load on the component's.
i always feel so frustrated for yall when you get stuck behind people
@33:22 was hilarious!
@42:09 'HEY'
im glad you passed them lol
@44:20 😭
@46:57 🥳
@48:53 those yells are terrifying

Messaged him afterwards, he was okay!
Great camera
@@haroldschaefer3777 Thanks! It's a GoPro 12!
It's cool
This is the run the Olympics should have, not that milk toast run they set up.

49:00 is he okay??
Spoke with him, he said he was okay after some checks with a doc!
Mantap 🔥🔥🔥👍
Now waiting 4 Yuri The Professional to do his part 😅
The person that fell. Is he okay ?? 10:26
Can't say, but there was help close by usually!
🇧🇷brazil 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇫🇷🇫🇷🇫🇷🚲
Bad strategy at minute 4:00 I think you wasted several minutes crossing through the snow instead of staying on the other side of the trail.
Not getting stuck behind a rider in front of me was the main idea, but went a little too far to the right. But definitely agree not the most optimal strategy.
Sizi takdir ediyorum gerçekten yeteneklisiniz. Sadece ilk sürünüşünüz olması ve ufak bazı aksaklıklar sebebiyle biraz yavaş kaldınız.
@@ercanak1 çok teşekkür ederim
you need a drop post, could use to learn some breathing tips at high elevations, you'll get a lot of smoothness once you can drop your post but, yeah, some smoothness will help you a lot. maybe some PT on your upper body. otherwize, you're a strong MF, nice run...
@@dirttdude I have a dropper post! Unfortunately I do not have the time to do elevation training. Have you seen other video's of people doing this race? I don't think a lot of people are breathing very relaxt. It's tough, hard pedalling and working the bike.
@@ErikPruijssen i wasn't trying to take anything from you, you almost won that race.
is this possible with the T8 ??
@@Brothertheresa12 Yes, I think it would be fine!

How long km for this race??
Because of bad weather the start was different, so a little shorter than usual. Now it was about 18km!
@@ErikPruijssen amazing for the 1st time got no 17 and finish the amazing race ..it's not about wining it's more then about enjoy experience the race ... beautiful place..what country it's megavalanche race??
@@raufsalam2331 It is in Alpe d'huez, France. Thank you so much
Were do they do these
@@George-n1p This is Alpe D'huez, france
Ploertige video hoor
Learn some French if you go again.
Over half of the contestants are not french, to me it seems like a logical choice to speak english as I have no idea what language they speak.
@@ErikPruijssen Carry on shouting, guaranteed to work every time, especially with the French.
@@ErikPruijssen I watch quite few videos of thoses races. And yes, it's true that some speak a few words in french. But the french riders also understand most of the time the few words in english. So i don't know. It's up to you. With time it will come eventually if you do this race years after years.
@@ErikPruijssen Allez! Allez! is all you have to know :D
stop falling off and clean your camera
Thanks for the tips Mr Alan! I'll see you at the start next year!
