Hi Emma. Thanks for sharing this topic with us. In my opinion, realize in which situations we use a proposition instead other, is easier than memorize rules. Best wishes from Mexico.
Emma, I do appreciate your lectures, for the past three years I have been watching your video on RUclips and it has helped me greatly in my academic performances. Thanks so much Teacher Emma
Your efforts put me on the platform of eternal gratitude, as my follow-ups inspired me, and the rate of my English language acquisition and achievement increased tremendously. It is worth mentioning that all those we addressed to you found the same results and more. We in Sudanese schools have benefited a lot from you, Professor Emma, and as we say our popular proverb (Thank you and receive it in your happiness, health and success, and God willing, the day of your thanks will come to you doubly) Mohammed Al Hassan Hammad / Sudan
Hi Emma! How’s it going? Great I hope! It’s always interesting and good to recall the grammatical bases. Thanks for doing it! Now, I’m looking forward to seeing your upcoming video! Take care! You rock!
Hi, I wanted to share with you few methods that I use to remember some of them. Always with depend, count and rely use "on" "On the other hand" I imagine it like a hand would be a surface like a table for example "on the table" Waiting at least for me it's obvious there can be only "for" With time always on but: On Days on monday, on sunday etc. In longer period of time a month, week, year etc. At a specific time for example at 5pm. The same goes to places. I live in a USA on Roosevelt Ave at 5 floor. But I'm not entirely sure why Emma haven't mentioned that we can use either "think about or of" Can we?
I often make mistakes with “in” and “ at” when use them with places. Can you do a video on them please. “The” is another tricky word, could you please.
Another example: My brother is “at Sarah’s home”, “in Sarah’s house”, “at Sarah’s place”. Are they correct? Are those prepositions interchangeable in these cases?
Hi Emma There are some prepositions that are related to verbs and still the verbs remain their real meaning without change like [ depend on, look at, rely on, wait for, keen on and so on . Thanks
You didn't mention in this class but for me it was difficult to understand the case with: Have you been TO Toronto? It doesn't sound logical to me. I would have said: Have you been in Toronto? However the last one is wrong. 😭
your videos is helping a lot of people Emma, tank you so much! I'm brazilian ps: preposition is pretty hard, but i have been studed a lot and i have been learned all of ,your channel is helping a lot

I'm Czech. English prepositions are quite difficult for Czechs. In many cases, one can't just use a literal translation. I'm a translator (English to Czech) and missing "for" in "search for" is one of the most common mistakes.
Hi Emma, i can understand English very clearly but I can’t speak fluently. When I’m trying to speak someone I can’t continue it because I can’t find the appropriate word to express my feelings. What should I do to overcome it?

Thanks Emma for your great lesson. I have one question however: how about the word of aim? Many Times I read the preposition after the word of aim, sometimes for, to and at. Which is correct?
Yesterday I saw one of your videos and I left a commentary about being nervous when teaching as if you were actually there. I don’t even know for how long that video was posted. All that I know is that you definitely are much more relaxed and that I feel so silly talking to “you” again the same I did before XD
Hi good afternoon ma'am i am from India i want to talk with you Ma am because i also easy how to become English speakers and then my current lifestyle and one of the fluence English speakers life that is i want to judge myself
5:07 - "ON TIME" = DONT BE LATE...BE SCHEDULELY ...LETS PUT IT THIS WAY.... "IN TIME" ALSO EXISTS.... MEANS: "OK..MANAGE YOURSELF BEFORE IN YOUR ACTIVITIES BUT FIT THE CLASS TIME IN...SO AS NOT TO BE LATE"
Hello, I have a question. Do you teach colors, seasons, animal names, fruits, numbers, and vegetable names? Do you have one that talks about these topics?
Hello, I have a question. Do you teach colors, seasons, animal names, fruits, numbers, and vegetable names? Do you have one that talks about these topics?
I work in the morning. I work in the afternoon. I work in the evening. And here you said (when I want to use “night” I use the preposition at for instance - I watch TV at night. - What about ( day) ?? Shall I say 1- I watch TV in day or 2- I watch TV at day
We use 'at' when we talk about "Night" In general. If you talk about specific that known by Speaker in that case, We can Use "In the night" And Yes. You can say "I watch TV in a day But At day is wrong. Hope this helps!
Actually, in this instance you would say "I watch TV *during the* day." "At night" is what you will use most often and it's talking about a time period. "In the night" refers more to doing something in the darkness that accompanies the night and will be used less often and in more specific circumstances.

Hi Emma
There are some prepositions that are related to verbs and still the verbs remain their real meaning without change like [ depend on, look at, rely on, wait for, keen on and so on . Thanks
I'm thinking of you, is that incorrect?
Should I say I'm thinking about you?
I like Emma's class, I'm a beginner and find her lectures very specific about some English topics, it help me a lot.
You didn't mention in this class but for me it was difficult to understand the case with:
Have you been TO Toronto?
It doesn't sound logical to me. I would have said:
Have you been in Toronto?
However the last one is wrong. 😭
I checked it and both are correct, the thing is they have different meanings. :o)
"Have you been in Toronto?" means "Have you been there recently?"
"Have you been to Toronto?" means "Have you ever been there in your whole life?"
After all these years studying english by myself, preposition to me is the easiest things that i've had seen.
Dear Emma 🙋I love how you say "OKAY" softly at the end of the sentence ....👍
