I also bought the Z Fc because of my connection with the camera. It reminds me of when I started photography in the 80s with my Nikon FE2. Also, the smaller weight helps me with my weak hands, so I'm thrilled. Thank you!
I like the retro look of this Nikon. I had an Oly OMD EM5 Mk 2 in the silver body and liked that look. Same as you experienced, many asked if it was a film camera. Replaced it with the Oly OMD EM1 Mk 2, but your video has me thinking I may like to pick up an EM5 again. (Got plenty of Oly lenses) Maybe even the Nikon Zfc, though. The retro controls make the Nikon very tempting! Thanks for the video.
I did consider the EM5 MkII - such a cool, small camera. Perfect for pairing with those super-fast manual lenses from TTartisan or 7Artisans. I actually got the TTartisan 35 0.95 for the Nikon Z and I`ll be making a video soon about this combo. Extremely happy about it for now!
Interesting that you feel the Ricoh GR has better dynamic range; it does from 320 iso onwards, but at 100 iso (and the next 2 settings) the Zfc has better dynamic range, slightly better than the Fuji X-T4 in fact. To be fair, the maximum DR for all three cameras is very very similar.
I’m thinking to get ZFC coz of the look too…but Ricoh GR3 because or the portability…ermm which one should I choose? Love the idea of ZFC with different lenses
I`d say if portability is key for you - go for GR3, but the cool retro look and interchangable lenses are a strong con for the Zfc. The 23 1.7 with Zfc is really small too. Not to mention the bokeh and rendering you can get with some manuals like TTartisan or the new Voigtlander for DX system!
As an answer for your video title - camera itself won't make you a better photographer. It might encourage you to photograph more often, give you some kind of enjoyment or make some adjustments easier/faster. However can't make you a better photographer just because you're an owner of particular tool. That's what I think. Change my mind ;)
I'm not sure if this camera will make you to photograph more. If there is no planned shooting/photo walk I tend to only use my smartphone or a compact camera as it is way more convenient than to carry a larger camera (the best camera is the one you have with you). Also the image quality of the Z fc isn't much better than the best smartphones and compact cameras - especially for amateur photographers.
Sure, owning the camera will not make you better, but the best way to get better is to shoot more - the more you shoot, the more conscious and aware for detail/composition you become(or at least you should :) - that`s at least my point here. The Zfc is definitely a cool tool, very inspiring that will encourage to take photos with more sophisticated, thoughtful way, instead of mindless bursts with a smartphone ;)
@@AdrianFilipiak I did agree that owning a camera won`t make you better. In a matter of fact everyone will interpret the title as they please - misleading, clickbait, etc - this channel represents my POV, and I believe this camera will make you a better photographer 🙃I don`t expect everyone to agree with it tho ;>
The grip can also be made good by purchasing the excellent SMALLRIG grip for Nikon ZfC (Amazon and other suppliers) or more recently the (more expensive) NIKON grip for this camera!
in terms of image quality wich one would you pick? GR IIIx or Zfc? I've the GR III and II already, that I love, I'm testing the GR IIIx at the moment but the zfc is a camera that have been in my mind as well. i work a lot with the nikon D750 but I don't know if the zfc it would replace any of these cameras.
I`m still kinda in-between with GRIIIx and Zfc. The GRIIIx IQ is a little better IMO and has better DR, but since you got the GRIII which has the exact same sensor as GRIIIx, I`d probably go for the Zfc - it has interchangeable lens, so it`s more versatile. It`s also way cooler in terms of experience. And you can mount even cooler manual lenses on it! The D750 is way out of this league as it`s a higher end Full Frame, so I wouldn`t compare it to GR or Zfc(unless you meant D7500 which is basically a bigger Zfc:)
Hi Georgios! Appreciate your feedback! I tried the X-T30 mk1 and I did own X-T20 along with Fujinon 35 1.4. The XT20 w/35mm lens was one of my best experiences with cameras ever, no doubt about it. I guess I`m still getting used to Zfc and hopefully I will be able to tell more in the coming weeks how this camera performs. Fujifilm colors and contrasts however are something different. I guess you can`t be dissatisfied with Fuji(well maybe except the XT20/30`s AF.
@@DigitalRetro Thanks a lot man for the prompt response :) It's a tough decision between Z FC and XT 30 ii but it seams that the Fuji one with the 27 mm fixed focus lens is even more portable for traveling. I will see about it and looking forward to further impressions on your Z FC :)
It depends on the situation, but mostly AF-S mode. I actually rarely got missed focus with it. You should check the lens or the camera with different lenses to rule out the camera AF problems. The Zfc with 28 2.8 is very snappy TBH.
Hello! The 24mn DX lens will give you the 36mm FF equivalent even when used on DX body. Even for a DX only lens. The 1.5 ratio is used for all DX lens, same as eg. Sony APS-C Lens will give you 1.5 times crop compared to a FF. This is because of the sensor size.

Digging you man! I also hate heavy gear and I prefer light setups that don't bother me too much.

Great I love my Mint Green Nikon zfc.
Medium length videos are great not too short and not too long!
Thank you! Agreed - Mint and black Zfc are dope!

Yes, the Smallrig grip is even better in terms of handling - the leather case looks sexier(and is lighter) tho ;P

Also Fujifilm xt30ii might also be a close option.

Great analysis!

Can’t get sharp pictures doing street with this camera, what AF do you use

Hi i believe the new 24mm f/1.7 is already a dx lens so it is 24mm equivalent on the zfc and not 36mm as stated in the video
