Mick Gordon is a musical fucking genius, he was told to not use guitars for the DOOM (2016) Soundtrack, so he used his chainsaw and his neighbour's lawnmower that he ran through a synthesizer (these were used in a few tracks like BFG Division, the chainsaw is the little WIIIIIRRRRRR you hear after every guitar part), he also has a compressor that he calls the "DOOM Compressor" which just drops everything by like 200DB. After he showed some of his skills for the first few tracks for DOOM 2016, he was allowed to use guitars too, so he pulled out a 9-string that he then used when making the next tracks (like BFG Division)
quick correction, the chainsaw sound is the original chainsaw from Doom 1 on MS-dos haha

Bfg division use in eternal was kinda lame. Used on the 2 most easiest fights.

@@BuyBitcoinBefore1Million I don't think the payoff was meant for being dedicated to a "hard fight". My take is that the payoff was about making us feel like we just got the freaking BFG. It's like the feeling of the first time our child-selves got to absolute massacre some demons with the OG BFG9000... but in song form.

@@dustinsandage9387 to be fair, the 2 times it is played in Doom 2016 are before you even get the BFG. That being said, you're right. It isn't meant for some super hard fight, its meant for an opportunity for the player to cut loose and slaughter a bunch of fucking demons.

I think the original version has more atmospheric sounding. And transitions are incredible. But version by Mick is just solid and brutal.

mick gordon is a monster, he composes the DOOM 2016 soundtrack (winning the best soundtrack award at the game awards) and composes the sequence's soundtrack, DOOM ETERNAL. you should check out more of his soundtracks, they are amazing.

Since no one mentioned it the BFG is the abbreviation for "Big Fucking Gun,"and that's canonical.It's given the name in DOOM 2,referenced right in the player's manual.

Mick Gordon revived Metal Genre in 2016. And then, the next year I was introduced Dreamcatcher in 2017 by my friend. Can you imagine if Dreamcatcher went to Industrial Metal route? Hahaha
This is the example people give when they say, "Doom(2016) and Doom Eternal are Mick Gordon Albums with a playable music video as a game." Because the man rips and tears guitars hard, drums like hell, hits some dirty bass in there and it's amazing as fuck for that reason. His music knows when to let you rest slightly before it resumes the fight for you. It ebbs and flows like art that honestly sets a bar for intense game songs as a whole cause they need to follow up after Mick fucking Gordon.

Ooooooh, not only is this track in DOOM 2016 and featured in several rather intense battles/fights... but what is delivered from the incredible mix of the song and the perfect match with the action that is on-screen (from YOUR actions, mind you)... the result is PURE TESTOSTERONE & ADRENALINE OVERLOAD.
You literally FEEL every Super Shotgun blast delivered to the demons' faces, along with every punch/stomp in the Glory Kills.

Funny stuff that i know from internet about how Mick Gordon composed soundtrack for Doom 2016, so um, his guitar is special, it has 8 strings or something, and synthesizer that he used is the old soviet model, so Mick didn't exacly knew what sounds can it make, so it mostly was him with that thing messing around, switching wires left and right, which you can see in the video.
This track is in game, i think you can hear it about 2-3 times, if my memory correct. But worry not, coz other tracks "combat" or "ambient" are top tier soundtrack ever.
