I HATE THE ANTICHRIST!!!!
based as hell -the human magpie
I hope you enjoy the game! I will note that this game's OST was hand picked from a variety of sources (credited in the Game Info + Credits readme file), so there will likely be parts of the game which trigger a copyright notice. That aside, best of luck on your future lockpicking endeavors!
Are you the game dev?
@@lucasc8972he is
If that's true and I get copyright claimed, that's single-handedly enough for me to never touch this game again. I hope that gets changed.
@@Aliensrock Oofers
@@Aliensrock I hate how games with music is now minesweeper with no numbers for youtubers
7:18 To get all the keys, you need 16 keys. You are given 16 keys. This means every key you get must be spent. You can solve it the way you did from there.
thanks for the advice, i remembered it when i went to solve the level by myself
i started with green since it was the mid term
ruled out the double green door
and solved from there
it was pretty easy level
Just when I wanted to comment this, I found the comment XD
I had the exact same thought.
16:15 The joke behind 2-8 is that it feels wrong to use 24 pink keys on a 24 pink door and master key a 2 pink door rather than the other way around, but it's the only way to solve the puzzle.
By the way that’s 2-B not 2-8
The spending every key logic does make sense in that Instance because you have 2 non blue keys for every blue key and there is no way to get a blue key without spending 2 keys
10:44 I love how they mentioned specifically that they can also be called gold keys to stop the pedants from saying "It's not a gold key, it's a master key!"
Just don't ever call an orange key gold... Or is it a yellow key? Hmm...
@@Patashu Interestingly, the keys this video's thumbnail are yellow! Like, actually yellow, not the gold in the game
It's like that thing with "Delicious Fruit™". Apple? Cherry? Whatever, you're already dead anyway
Also when they were getting excited about “multiples of 3!” they made sure to clarify that they were talking about 3, not 3!
hi!
Oh god. This is vaguely reminiscent of Tyler running through Patrick’s Parabox and trying to explain his actions.
22:40 A comment on multiple blanks in a row - it looks like it's just the level designer having a joke, but it's actually so you can't pass using master keys.
I hope you enjoy this game and make it a full series! I don't wanna tell any spoilers but there are a lot of great mechanics and gimmicks in this game! You're gonna laugh at some of the mechanics introduced too in the later worlds!
it gets absolutely unhinged later on
Fantastic editing on this video to visualize your thoughts as you talk through your solving of the puzzle.
thank you editors for highlighting what Tyler was talking about; while I probably would have been able to follow it regardless that just let me visualize his thought process a lot easier!
What an interesting take on a 'i wanna be the guy' type game
great editing in this video, made your thought process really clear. thank you
Thanks so much for playing this! This is my favorite puzzle game. It has amazing logic with, imo, zero extraneous factors except the long walks from Point A to Point B. Hope you like it!
Just wait untill the Lock Picking Lawyer finds this.
He will be unbeatable.
Never in my life would I have expected you out of all people to play an I Wanna Be The Guy fangame! I've been playing those for years and they're so much fun :)
That’s what this is?
@@christophermoore6110 ye
@@christophermoore6110 ...is it bad that i could tell from the jump sounds lol
For real, never ever i expected him to play a IWBTG fangame, but maybe it was because this is more of a puzzle game instead of a unforgiving platformer
@@aaronsullivan3174
not as bad as me being able to tell from the player sprite
As to that blue key puzzle, you can use the "must spend every key" because you start with 16 keys and use two per blue key.
And we're reminded once again how good Tyler is at logic and puzzles.
The factorial joke in 2-8 got me!
I have seen countless flash games with the same concept. This one goes way more in depth than any of them ever have, but I was never a fan of these. So while I would never want to play this game myself, even if I don't even want to try and comprehend the solution, it's still enjoyable to watch Tyler explain them .
It is a "I wanna be game" so I'm not surprised by it being like thjs.
I was about to comment the same thing. This was originally a flash game called "Cat Got Lost".
Thank god you're playing this, you're the first person I've seen post a video on it who has the capacity to actually think and observe their current situation...
I dare say he’s a puzzle god, I don’t really like puzzle games, so 8 minutes in I was pretty lost. I’m sure I could do the levels, it would just take me a lot longer
Icely was the first one that contributed a significant part in popularising the game in my opinion, and I think that he is also just as smart in solving the puzzles. But for the rest tho I agree.
I find the idea of a door that requires you to not have keys to be funny. Like, oop, my door only unlocks if I chuck my keys across the lawn.
Incredibly happy to see you play this game!
Good luck with future puzzles, they are incredibly good but also i've proved many to be impossible, which only the best puzzle games, like baba, can do haha.
1-B does use the "all keys have to be used" logic, it's like a mine counting argument in minesweeper: there are 16 doors you have to open at minimum, and you have 16 keys, so you can't open extra and all keys have to be spent!
the sound of breaking the locks is top tier satisfying
7:19
You are right that is the logic. You only have 16 keys to start and each path needs 2 keys therefore a correct solution spends every key
The sound used when you enter a level is the same as sound used in baba is you when you enter a level i think
0:06 that enter sound made me have a baba flashback
I hate that I see the thumbnail and immediately think of Limbo
through all of your videos the editing has been increased to lvl 9001 ITS OVER 9000 (great job editors)
as some one who apprenticed with a locksmith funny enough this games logic feels like lockpicking or "pin prodding" to find the right sequence to open a lock , also as to how a master key works irl is that its got an extra tooth/hight that hits an overseer pin that basically overrides the lock and or allows for the lock assembly to be extracted for maintenance/ repining
i know the lingo i picked up isnt totally correct , but regardless id recommend checking out "the lockpicking lawyer"
Imagine if the lockpicking lawyer played this game.
Glad to see this game almost immediately gets interesting and evolves the original concept quite well which is hard for a lot of puzzle games
Tyler is one of the few people I watch that are actually good at puzzle solving, it's honestly pretty refreshing to watch.
Super appreciate the captions and highlights on screen! It speeds up the comprehension and makes the video a faster and more satisfying pace.
I feel color blind after watching this video.....
I like the development of "I lose nothing" logic here. Like, first we see this applied to the whole "spend an X key to get an X key" thing: if you can get to X key without unlocking that particular gate then you may end up with more keys. Then it gets applied to the idea that you should collect as many keys as possible as soon as the no-key gates show up. The introduction of mechanics that break logic that worked in earlier puzzles is a neat way to develop things.
Loved the editing! Keep up the great work!🎉
10:00 - oh man, I mean, there's been some pretty genius puzzles recently.
But I don't recall this level of attention for the non options so they'll almost fit but not for a detail.
I know it's a characteristic of puzzles, but like "baba is you" was the last time I truly saw attention to this and even so this game is doing it EVERY TIME.
Feels like those math tests where the other options in the test are reachable by doing some common mistakes.
Nice, first icely and now you have picked up this game. Glad my two favorite puzzle game channels have touched this great game
I was confused for half the video due to being color blind
Here from icely puzzles.
You will LOVE the future levels!... Or hate.
Had a lot of fun (re)playing along. Hope you continue playing it.
2:50 Thats a pink key....
unfortunately im too colorblind for this but it looks cool
I love Iwanna games! Thanks for showing them off!
The editor did insane on this video!
Your puzzle content is easily my favorite. Enjoyed seeing you flex your logic muscles.
7:23 the “must use every key” logic was valid, because you had 12 non-blue keys left on hand, and 6 blue keys left to retrieve, each of which required the use of 2 non-blue keys. You could only obtain all of the blue keys by using every non-blue key in your possession, and therefore every purple key.
Top notch editing on this one.
I like how he tries to appease the comments by calling the teal keys blue-green but doesn't question calling the pink key red.
The difficulty really ramps up in the later game. Glad to see you try it
As a colorblind person, I have no idea what's going on in this game.
7:21 - maybe some math with combinatorics and linear algebra would work
for you guys wondering how to do 1-B without assuming spend all keys, count the number of keys you start with; 16. there are 8 branches that force you to spend two so that means you have to spend all keys
Wait a goddamn minute, this is an I Wanna Be The game, I know that sprite and that godsdamned jump sound.
I saw the video title and didn't see the uploader and I thought Icely Puzzles was trying to pull a fast one on me
What a neat game. Love how many awesome and unique puzzle games you show us! Thank you!!
This game was so cool to watch. Is it on steam?
Just saw the description. Damn but at least we can watch you play it.
It's not on steam, but it's still free to play! You don't need an account or download another app or anything
I’m very confused and I’ll probably never get an answer but why does it feel like it’s warm where Tyler is? Idk why I feel this but I feel like the outside temp is warm for wherever and whenever this is.. maybe 72°
3:10 I would say that is the "Turquoise" hue of blue-green.
7:25 There seem to be only a few basic types of challenges: Reimbursing challenge and forward paying.
The main lock is reimbursing type. 2 Purple Keys, to unlock 2 Purple Keys. You can simply crack those the moment you get enough initial Purple keys at no loss for the rest of the level. But to be truly a reimbursing type, there must be no other way to get to said key (that is the rule of spending a key, to get the same color key, with the refinement).
Most of the blocks are here are forward paying. You get the key literally in front of them. The challenge is to realize when you need to use the key on the main lock first.
Unfortunately that seems to be about the biggest Puzzle I can still follow.
The character and the name of the game is a reference to "I wanna be the guy"
so this is i wanna be the guy, but a puzzle game. cool.
Finally a puzzle game, thank you much!
I feel like everyone is going to point out the Baba is you noises, but you also have the I Wanna Be The Guy jump noise, and that makes me happy :)
We need a full series!
Yooo you actually played lockpick!
This game takes a bit to pick up the pace, but damn does it have some dastardly puzzles and mechanics later on
Oh my gosh I remember seeing you on Merg's channe back in the day.
@@ericonion3561 really? I don't comment on videos as often as I used to
Missed the puzzle games so loving this man
I very much want to see the golden master key get replaced with a gun. The true master key for any lock.
Did not think i would ever see an "I Wanna ..." as a puzzle game, that's cool revelation
inb4 the game starts throwing kamilia corners to you at mach speed
I know this comment won’t be seen but I’m mildly colour blind and it makes it difficult to follow which keys open which locks if the editors could increase the saturation just a bit on at least the green and red locks especially it would make following the game so much easier, please like so Tyler sees 👍
I love how the game has lockpick in the name but there’s no lockpicking, you just use the keys to open the doors
I was not convinced by the thumbnail nor by the title ... But this game look great !I actually want more.
I'll admit that some of the puzzle games you feature often stump me for so long that the frustration outweighs the fun. (That's my experience with Baba Is You, for example.) This game really hits the sweet spot though!
man I can't imagine how the creator make the level
solving it is hard, but making a workable hard puzzle is at least as hard if not way more
wow, an I wanna be the guy fangame on your channel. this is a huge step
this entire game:
i spent the key to get the key
I'm so glad you decided to play this game, Tyler!
me waiting all video for a random cherry boss fight to vocaloid music
this is one of an amazing games played by one of an amazing guys with one of an amazing genres
this game gets CRAZY btw, i really hope you stick with it!
oh man are you in for something, this game gets DEEEEEP
I can't believe Tyler is playing an I wanna be the guy fangame (even if it's just a puzzle game)
i can never escape from i wanna be the guy
You wanna escape the guy?
I recognize the sing from area 2. Swimming while it rains by lifeforms. Good tune
Kid named pick:
YOOOO I loved Icely's series on this, glad to see it here :) This game gets crazy haha
Tyler on 1b the reason using all the purple keys is forced was because you had exactly 16 keys and 16 locks to break
first world song : Reedz, by Ocularnebula
second world song : Swimming While It Rains, by Lifeformed
This is an interesting way of executing a 'i wanna be the guy' game instead of just a platform troll game
7:20
given how you had to go through 8 paths of 2 locks each (at a minimum) and had 16 keys to do so (so also the maximum)
Yes it was a given by the level, not game-principle, that all keys needed to be used.
Working from there was completely justified
I love this game! Also, when are you going to finish Baba Is You new adventures?
I never thought the "I wanna be the" game iterations would reach puzzle games
This isn't even the first, there were a lot of "I wanna" puzzle games before this
I was expecting this to be something like I Wanna Be The Guy based on the title, but was pleasantly surprised.
It is using the same engine and kind of sprites
@@romajimamulo fair, but the gameplay is incredibly dissimilar.
This is just an I wanna be the guy fangame, but the main mechanics are obiviously very different
13:15 - imma logic this out, hold on.
lets enumerate:
1 2 3 4
8 7 6 5
if you go 8 in the top you'll have to waste 2 oranges at 2 and 4, since 5 needs orange 8 is at the bottom.
now every gate could use an orange, and at 5 it's required, so you only have 1 orange left; paying attention to 2 and 4 you'll see you don't have enough blues, so the other orange is in there. All other paths must not use orange, because they'll be used at 2 or 4, and at 5.
Sum the keys of the forced path at 1, 3, 6, 7 and 8 and you'll notice you're out of white, so path 5 cannot use white neither can path 4.
Final order from the numbers at the start is:
up, up, down, up, up, up, down, down.
( if there's confusion this logic is valid even though at the end you need master key as a purple. wasn't a necessary observation for the solution and if you couldn't achieve 5 purples somehow the puzzle would be impossible.)
I still feel there's a solution using master key as a blue though...
tbh I might be completely wrong. I'm not verifying.
OH MY GOD THIS GAME OH NOOO TYLER SAVE YOUR SANITY
The way your brain works is just so impressive 😂
Yay, another video where you play a game so nobody else has to
I just wanna say this game's music sounds amazing
When you said lockpicking i was expecting something like skyrim’s lockpicking minigame
7:18 You must spend all the keys not because of that logic but because regardless of the path, it is always 2 other keys for 1 final key.
