Much better than the one Techmoan reviewed!
Oh, interesting! I didn't know Techmoan had already made a review of a similar device. Yes, this one is indeed much better.
@@DrCassette Here's the very weird mixer device he reviewed: ruclips.net/video/-9-DxT_lf7M/видео.html
Our experience of this unit is mixed. Using it with Apple devices, it fails miserably but with a Windows laptop, we had decent results with the audio.
On an iPhone and iPad the recorded audio is gritty, hissy and noisy - plus the 'record' level knob has to be fully turned up for any quality at all. Using it with a Macbook or an iMac, Audacity is out of the question as there are tonnes of dropouts plus for some reason, there's a delay which is annoying in the extreme.
On a Windows laptop, we had much better results and Audacity works well here.
It's a pity for us as we had purchased the unit for some remote work and being able to use it with our iPhones would have been ideal.
At £99 it's a decent kit, but simply not for us.
When you enabled that autotune type feature I could hear what it was doing to your voice, I can't describe it in words, but it was doing something.
Thank you! This was informative. 😊 Just because I stumbled across it, you can also shut off the, "Electron" setting by long-pressing it.
Thanks for an entertaining and highly informative video on this product. It seems to be really good, and on my computer it sounds really nice... even as a RUclips audio. I get the feeling that you rather enjoyed some of the effects you were demonstrating. That's a great product sell! Do you get to keep the unit? Thnk again, I always enjoy your videos!
Thank you! :)
Yes, I get to keep the device, that's why I agreed to make this review.
Fixed sounds on buttons. So useful.
Great video! It was very helpful!. Thanks!
Sadly I think the background noise will put a lot of people off this machine, and the denoise button did nothing to improve the situation. It smells to me of a really cheap soundcard and poor electronics. If they’d let you take it apart you, being a Doctor (😀😀), could probably find the cause and a solution but as it stands, it’s a toy and not really a viable solution.
Most of the noise is introduced somewhere in the connection from the Maonocaster to the phone. The output to the monitoring headphones sounded much better, almost no noise at all, that's why I said "the noise is now gone" when I turned on the denoise function, because most of the noise really was gone. Unfortunately the phone got a different audio signal...
Thank you for This Video ❤
Recently i purchased this device for singing.. the problem is.. it is only working on voice recorder..but not on video recording.pls reply me how it's works on video recording?what options should i change?
Hello,
Thank you for this presentation of the Maonocaster Lite.
I am interested in this device, but I do not want to make a mistake and I need your help.
I am neither a podcaster nor a streamer, I just participate in musical Spaces on X (former Twitter) & I want to have a correct sound.
This maonocaster allows you to broadcast but does it also allow you to chat, to hear the other speakers? And if so, which port should I plug my phone into, pod output or usb-c port?
I hope you will have time to answer me.
See you soon.
It’s a neat looking device, but the condensor without phantom power puzzles me, how is that possible? Can it take proper condenser mics with 48 volts? It’s a bit gimmicky but I like the pitch effect. I do wonder what Julian Krause would make of the mic input noise levels.
I assume there is just a standard electret condenser microphone capsule inside, this would also explain the relatively low sensitivity.
the noise level of the mic is really bad.
Most of the noise is introduced somewhere in the connection from the Maonocaster to the phone. The mic itself actually doesn't have much background noise, it sounded pretty good through the monitoring headphones.
@@DrCassette can the output be fed via BT to the phone?
@@rarbiart No, the Bluetooth only works as audio input. I could have tried the standard line output with an audio recorder, and then syncing the audio recording with the video in post production, but of course that is not one of the scenarios the manufacturer suggests.
@@DrCassette fully agree! that wouldn't be my use scenario as well! recording via PhoneBT (while filming with the Phone) would be neat mobile setup.
Great tutorial👍
Thank you! :)
Does the mic technically mute when you turn the volume knob all the way down?
How do i make it to where i can no hear myself from the headphones but still make my microphone be able to talk?
Can I use this with an ipad? My daughter wants to podcast but I`m really not well up on all these things. I`m looking at this one and the Donner unit. Thanks for any help
How many mics inputs are given?
Can it use with cubase 10?
is intended for recording Covers?
It's intended for podcast and live stream production, I don't think this would be good enough for any half-serious music production
Like this dear🌹🌹🌺
I am looking for something to denoise for my RUclips videos and this thing stinks. Sorry No sale here.
This is certainly not nearly as good as a dedicated de-noiser...
Echo is too loud.
The echo can be adjusted to have less volume.
@@DrCassette i know.
