    I hate when people act like it's a flex to not sleep a lot and there must be something wrong with people that need more sleep. If I dont get 8 houra, I have to take cat naps, and I have stopped feeling bad about it and just do it for my own sanity.

      I met a man who said "sleep is for the weak." I thought that's a stupid thing to say. That was 20 years ago. I wonder if he is still alive or sick with some cancer.

      Sleeping to much means there is a problem. You are more likely to be depressed and lack ambition in life. Anymore then 7 hours is in my opinion a lazy person

    • @morrisg5060
      @morrisg5060 Месяц назад +3

      people have different sleep needs depending on their age, occupation, current health and genetics. It is multifactorial. 7 is not a magic number and 7+ does not equate to depression or laziness. The main thing is to get enough sleep your body requires daily and hopefully with minimal interruptions.

      @@steelearmstrong9616 well your opinion is worthless, uninformed informed and completely at odds with the current scientific research.
      Research has shown most people need between 7-9 hours. It varies from person to person and there are differences between sex, age and genetics.
      I operate best with 7.5, my wife needs 9.
      One reason I sleep my 7.5-8 hours is so I can get MORE done in a day. The opposite of laziness.

      @alicat398 well done to you guys. I've given up cigs, weed, alcohol and sugar. I wouldn't say they were easier to give up, but caffeine/coffee definitely had the worst side effects during the two weeks. The body and immune system completely shut down. I have done a bit of research, and the science behind it is quite amazing.

    It has everything to do with hormones. You need melatonin to sleep. However, eating right before bed provokes digestion. Digestive hormone release prevents sleep hormone release.
    So, you have a hard time sleeping eating less than three hours before bed.

    I have a lot of trouble sleeping, and I totally feel the emotional instability. For example, when I'm heavily sleep deprived and somebody wakes me up for a stupid reason, I literally start crying and ask them why would they do that, because I know I will not be able to fall back asleep

    • @kevinc9597
      @kevinc9597 Месяц назад

      Sounds like you are already trauma about your sleeping issues. You need to change your environment to start fresh and get better sleep

    • @ItalianRetroGuy
      @ItalianRetroGuy Месяц назад

      @@kevinc9597 That's not it, it's very rare. It happens on very specific occasions, only when I pull all nighters (which happened only like 10 times in my whole life so far) for a reason or another, then somebody wakes me up way too soon for a dumb reason. What I described in my comment used to be with my parents, they just wouldn't understand that I can't just go to sleep again. Nowadays it could be a repeated phone call that bypasses my DND mode, a lawnmower, or whatever. In that case I have nobody to blame, but I still end up crying in frustration. This doesn't happen when I am just midly sleep deprived, like sleeping 2-3 hours a night. That's a very special reaction for a very special occasion 😆
      It's pure frustration, which I can't control because I've only got like 2 hours of sleep in more than 24 hours haha
      Currently I sleep decently, but I still can't go back to sleep if I wake up and realize I am up. (My sleep tracker made me discover that I wake up and don't realize it sometimes.) Going to the bathroom in the middle of the night is a death sentence for my night's sleep, I end up stopping all drinking after a certain time of the day just to avoid that, sometimes even going to bed thirsty. I assume that's going to ruin the quality of sleep though

    • @DiveInbluebucket
      @DiveInbluebucket Месяц назад

      I’ve been there. It’s so frustrating and I understand how upsetting and traumatic that is. One thing you can do is make a CLOSED sign for those who are in your environment so they are aware you are CLOSED.
      You will be back at ____.
      Make sure they respect it and follow your request. That way you are taking control of the situation and that can make you feel better overall!
      I hope this helps.
      Sweet Dreams..

      @ItalianRetroGuy 14 дней назад

      @@DiveInbluebucket i want to specify it only happens with people who know my problem, and it only really used to happen when I was younger, you know, parents and all. It hasn't happened in many years, but it would probably happen again in the same exact circumstances. Oh and on top of it all, it only really happened when I was trying to fix my sleep schedule and needed really good sleep quality, or when I went to bed way way WAY later than I should have and was dead tired.

    This is exactly why ASMR is amazing and why I needed to create my own outlet/channel.
    For sleep..💤
    A- Appreciating
    S- Subtle
    M- Moments (to)
    R- Relax
    This is not what ASMR actually stands for, however it basically does. Try ASMR sometime if you have trouble getting to sleep. There are soooo many options out there!
