One of my favorite moments in this film is when the Captain looks at EVA's memory's, expecting to see the planet as it's shown on his screens only to realize its dead. I absolutely love the first half of the movie because it’s there’s little to no dialogue to explain the story. It’s mostly visual storytelling and I love that type of narrative. There aren’t that many films out there(at least any that are mainstream) that can tell a story without any dialogue. I wish there were more movies like that. As for the second half, I did enjoy it, but I just wish it didn’t have much dialogue and continue with its storytelling like it did in the beginning. This is what made me adore Walle as a whole.

@@fish_floyd The only two overlaps are it being mostly set in space, and there being a controling AI as an antagonist. I would say they were a small amount of the "main things" in comparison to the actual overarching message of the film. But please, do explain how I am wrong and how much Wall-E copied 2001...
I liked the idea of Wall-A too. It shows that the humans haven’t learned yet. They need bigger, more effective robots to dispose of the trash. This is then turned into a cute little bit at the end when the size they once used to scoop the trash is used to help rebuild.
@@theplushshow3989 Wall-E was definitely PC. Moduler, simple, a bit awkward, and old fashioned looking, but able to repair himself just by replacing bits.
Notice how the humans in the starship are supposed to rush back to Earth as quickly as possible _as soon as_ the first, tiniest piece of plant life is discovered? When humans destroyed the planet so quickly in the first place? Instead of only coming back to the planet after _a lot_ of plant life has come back, nooooo, they _have_ to come back once discovering just the tiniest growing flower or tree? Think about it for a second.
They returned in a self contained colony ship disguised as a cruise liner. The humans didn't have to immediately put the pressure of their demands on the fragile ecology, the ship had run in a stable loop for 700 years and was still in good working order, and population control was in effect. They could wait for their robotic workforce to finish the cleanup, build infrastructure and accelerate ecological development before any of them had to live permanently on Earth. They could bring selected humans up to speed on the sciences and create a human directed robot economy that could supercharge ecological recovery. That, and they have an emormous amount of natural resources out there to build infrastructure with -- the massive trash piles full of recyclable scrap. Probably for the first generation, Earth was a place to go exploring in, and then go back to the ship. The Captain would spearhead cleanup efforts with the help of the robots and a few willing humans, and try to expand earth's capability to sutain life. Maybe they'd even get the overall WALL-E project back on track and adapt it into a trash sorting and recycling effort.
Wall-E was the perfect film to kick this series off with, a big commentary on the corporate takeover that’s been happening at the Oscars for a long time now
Now that I'm older, I laugh hysterically at how the movie makes fun of monopolies and absurdly gigantic corporations. Ironically, that is sadly what Disney has EXACTLY become.
Me: watch Wall-E for the thousands time and looks like I'm watching it the first time My family: why are you watching that movie again? Me: *you wouldn't understand my goal*
This is legit me with Ratatouille. My parents refused to go see it when it was in theaters with me. So i had to wait years to watch it. And it is absolutely amazing.
I remember watching Wall-E for the first time and I didn’t even care to pay attention because it was a “robot.” Curse my younger self because now I can’t even find where to watch Wall-E.
I knew I was right to love this movie as a kid. When I was young I had a tendency to like any (and I mean ANY) new kids movie I was. I could describe months in my life through what new movie I saw. During a year of elementary school I was in a Despicable Me phase, the next year Bolt, and so on and so forth. But then Wall-E showed up. When I saw Wall-E, of course I loved it because I was a dumb kid who liked movies with funny robots or aliens (Leo and Stitch being another movie I was right to love so much). I got the shirt, hat, lunch box, and even the video game (Leapfrog). I was obsessed with this movie. Usually though, whenever I love a movie I forget about it the next time I watch a new kids movie. But Wall-E never went away. I still love Wall-E to this day, and although I spend my time now watching Marvel, Star Wars, and Knives Out I still think about this movie at least once a month. This film was truly special, and this video describes perfectly what makes it so amazing.
To this day, Wall-E is the only Disney movie I like, which makes sense since Pixar was involved. EDIT: Also, gotta love transitioning from Terraria music to Portal music at 5:00.
i watched this movie with my father and we both agreed to murder anyone who says its bad as soon as we had seen it. he passed away in 2019 and on fathers day i rewatched it and now it has even more emotional value to it. thank you for praising it as me and he would...
I am SO glad you got to build those memories with your dad. May his soul rest in peace. And continue to remember these memories fondly! Bless you and thanks for sharing!
No joke- Of all the films I've ever seen, WALL-E has made me cry the most. Not just on first viewing either. I've seen it countless times and it always manages to squeeze at least one more tear out of me. Truly a masterpiece.
“I don’t want to survive! I want to live!” And then the sequence that was basically one long and great 2001: A Space Odyssey reference that would make Kubrick himself proud is a scene that will stick with me almost as much as the absolute masterpiece they were referencing. Genius, insane, and truly wonderful.
Weirdly enough nobody has seem to notice Portal 2 track at 5:02, its called "Halls of Science 4" i would say both Portal and Wall-e have very similar vibes and soundtrack as well, both are amazing tbh, everyone should check them out on their own.
When I was a dumb stupid kid I was afraid of WallE, why? Because the scene where EVE shot the rock in the traliers, that's why, but I eventually watched it and I loved it, I still do actually!
Some people: It’s about environmentalism. Intellectuals: It’s about love. Me: *It’s about a balance between accepting your circumstances and going for your dreams and how enemies are created without a certain source.*
I kind of feel like this thread shows just how well made this film is. The lack of dialogue lets the film be more open to interpretation because there’s never an outspoken line explaining the thesis. Most people won’t like a certain film because of what the message is. That being said, everyone likes Wall-E because, well, it can be whatever film you want/need it to be-and none of these interpretations are wrong. It’s a dystopia film, it’s about environmentalism, it’s romance, it’s open to interpretation so everyone enjoys it. This movie isn’t tailored to a specific audience, it is made for all of humanity (and robots) to enjoy

The Define Dancing scene was AMAZING. the combination of the first dance of Wall-E and Eve and the Axiom's thrusters firing in a sequence, only to be topped off with the IMPECCABLE musical score. Just blew me away.
That opening to Wall E is probably one of the best and interesting opening to a movie. Its just empty space and the only thing you hear is an antique song that really encapsulates that feeling.
the primary soundtrack number which is written in the lydian mode to emply a dreamy quality, this number is primarily played when eve is on screen. this dreamy quality can also be heard in other scores, one of which being the one for a series of unfortunate events (the film adaptation). this perfectly captures the feeling wall-e has for eve, as he feels as if she is a dream or he is dreaming. the lydian mode is used a lot, but never used wrong. it is so perfect, especially for this movie. wall-e yearns to go to the stars and love like in the musical he listens to time and time again. in short, the score of a movie along the lines of a fitting character(s), then you have what i believe to be the most perfect and most touching display of characters, your eyes are touched, along with your ears...

Not "Wall-E" but it is "WALL•E".
WALL•E is an acronym:
Waste Allocation Load Lifter: Earth-Class
I was kinda expecting that
Y'know because he was a robot
And usually humans make robots for tools and such
I liked the idea of Wall-A too. It shows that the humans haven’t learned yet. They need bigger, more effective robots to dispose of the trash. This is then turned into a cute little bit at the end when the size they once used to scoop the trash is used to help rebuild.
And WALL·A is probably Waste Allocation Load Lifter: Axiom Class.
@@MineGames131
Correct. WALL•E has lore behind every BNL robot. Pixar put too much effort in their films.

🤯🤯🤯
nah it's an among us
Notice how the humans in the starship are supposed to rush back to Earth as quickly as possible _as soon as_ the first, tiniest piece of plant life is discovered? When humans destroyed the planet so quickly in the first place? Instead of only coming back to the planet after _a lot_ of plant life has come back, nooooo, they _have_ to come back once discovering just the tiniest growing flower or tree?
Think about it for a second.
I think they left to begin with because plants couldn't even exist before they left? Idk, that's just my interpretation.
I mean, the whole movie is about a robot who just wants to hold hands, it's absolutely amazing

My brain was thrown for a loop when portal music started playing.

This movie isn’t tailored to a specific audience, it is made for all of humanity (and robots) to enjoy

the primary soundtrack number which is written in the lydian mode to emply a dreamy quality, this number is primarily played when eve is on screen. this dreamy quality can also be heard in other scores, one of which being the one for a series of unfortunate events (the film adaptation). this perfectly captures the feeling wall-e has for eve, as he feels as if she is a dream or he is dreaming. the lydian mode is used a lot, but never used wrong. it is so perfect, especially for this movie. wall-e yearns to go to the stars and love like in the musical he listens to time and time again. in short, the score of a movie along the lines of a fitting character(s), then you have what i believe to be the most perfect and most touching display of characters, your eyes are touched, along with your ears...
