This is my absolute favourite series! I love that your personalities are at the center and the chilled vibe is so good for sunday morning video. Also - definitely do a cheesecake!
Frida Rasmussen thank you! I can’t believe he’s suggested cheese cake. I haven’t got the first clue how to make one. I bet it’s really complicated 🤦🏻♀️
I loved this video - I really liked seeing you and Rich laughing, not taking yourselves too seriously and not afraid to look a little silly. A perfect Sunday morning video!
I love this! Tip: if you cover the cake with foil before putting it in the oven then it steams it as it cooks and makes it more moist. Increases cooking time by 1/3 (so your cake would take 1h20 min)
Your apple cake looks delicious 🍎😊 just a suggestion: you could clip the baking paper in and then cut the edges off, this way no dough/cake can run underneath the baking paper 😉 I then put butter on the edges with a baking brush and dust it with a little bit of flour, this way nothing will stick on the baking pan or tray 😊
Lily my family also have and LOVE this Mary Berry recipe but use an updated one from a 90s aga cookbook!!! In the 90s version you can mix all ingredients together at same time, cut the apples into chunks rather than thin slices (approx 3 times bigger than yours), and cover the top of cake with almond flakes before cooking (therefore no need for icing sugar as looks pretty). Your video brought back so many fun memories collecting apples from the garden and baking with my Aunt 💕💕💕
I loved this video, it's raining here and I'm sat watching this video feeling cozy and autumnal 🍂 looking forward to episode 3! Happy sunday everyone 🥰
I’ve never commented on any of your videos but I just had to on this one.....I loved this and found myself laughing out loud. It’s so natural and shows an insight into your family life. Can’t wait for the next one.....cheesecake please 😊
I loooove this video more videos like this please 😃 love how you and Rich were plus the ease of the video, perfectly imperfect. Do Mke honey cake, sticky toffee pudding or could you make red velvet Whoopie pies 😁. You could do a poll for what to bake next.
OMG this made me laugh so many times!! I love this series. Please make so many more :) Also I'm Swedish and never heard of this and I bake quit a bit, it always makes me laugh when stuff like this happen.
That was hilarious and wonderful and completely endearing! I love seeing you both working together and trying to figure everything out. I am far from an expert at cooking or baking, but I've always "leveled" by using the top (straight edge) side of a dinner knife by making several "slices" through the heaped portion and then swiping the edge of the knife from the handle to the tip of measuring spoon/cup so the extra heaped portion falls back into the jar/container. Also, the more you mix your mixture after adding the flour, the tougher the end product will be. Something about releasing the gluten making it chewier or some such. I'm sure there are those much more knowledgeable than I that can explain it much better. But bottom line, don't over mix flour unless the directions specifically call for a certain time to mix. If you're worried about lumps you can always sift your flour. Regardless how exact you get when baking or if you're rowing a boat... life is butter dream! (Priceless! 😂😂😂)
I love to bake and I bake a lot, and for me an absolute baking staple has to be a little set of measuring spoons! Usually this is a set of 4 or 5 spoons ranging from tablespoon-size to 1/4th of a teaspoon. You'll see that these spoons actually have different measurements than random kitchen spoons do, so your baking will become much more precise and reliable!
Vote- cheese cake. I am going to try and make this looks yummy! Laughed when you told rich off for taking more cake at the end haha! I think rich can secretly bake, he seems to know what he’s doing xx
My mum has been using this exact recipe for years! I've also adopted it, but use granny smith as they don't go so soft and make 1.5x the cake mixture for a tin that size! so yummy
Love your new series, A few years ago I wasn’t very good at baking and cooking in general, my mum use to say watching me was like looking a clown before he joined the circus, it took a while but now I’m quite good at baking last week I’ve made a triple layer chocolate cake it was delicious 😊
An easy way to get the circle of baking paper is to pop the bottom off, lie the paper over the top of the base and then close the tin around it and just trim the excess :)
New York cheesecake is so easy! I make it all the time. I wouldn’t say mine are perfect but they are sooo delicious. Would highly recommend adding it to your baking repertoire lol
So funny! Yes, definitely read the whole recipe before you start! Using a different sized pan will give a different result - just sayin'! And yes, you can overmix. If you toss the apples with a little lemon juice, you won't need to put them in water. Love the old cook books, my personal favorite is a McDougall's flour cookery book from the 50's (cost 6d)and a Stork Margarine one from 1963.
my granny's best tip for baking was: "before you start, you need to get all the ingredients out, weight and organize them (aka lay them out pre-weighted on the counter in order of use). then and only then, you can start baking."
Can you bake Anna's cookies in the next episode? And get her to review them
Brilliant idea!
Ivy genius idea!!!
LOVE that idea!
You should make Anna’s cookie recipe!!
Yesss please
Yes!!
Tip: read the whole recipe before you start, so you will know the steps and can think it all through and prepare the things you need 🙃
Haha this literally sums me up at school. I never read the exam question properly before answering 😂
That so funny I was like you yesterday I made Dorset apple cake .. you should have seen the mess
Cheese cake, absolutely!!! you two are so funny filming together!!!
I loved this video - I really liked seeing you and Rich laughing, not taking yourselves too seriously and not afraid to look a little silly. A perfect Sunday morning video!
You guy's are hilarious I'm screaming at the screen saying where's the flour? Put in the flour. And breathe👏👏👏😂😂
London Mum 🙈🙈🙈🙈 I mean, we’re not normally THAT bad
I actually like it when cakes have cracks, it makes them look homemade and yummy. ☺️
That “loose bottom” moment was so bloody cute! 😂
"peel, core and quarter the apples"
Lily: *slices apples* 😂
😂 I’m still confused. I just copied what I’ve seen my mum do. I think! 🤷🏻♀️
@@lilypebbles well it looked delicious, so it clearly didn't matter! Mum knows best!
@@lilypebbles It's when you cut the apple in 4, so quarters :) but I think what you did was better for the cake
😆😆😆
Lily is such a mood haha "oh my god, I almost ruined the cake" "ow" "my eye"
I love this!
Tip: if you cover the cake with foil before putting it in the oven then it steams it as it cooks and makes it more moist. Increases cooking time by 1/3 (so your cake would take 1h20 min)
That cake looks delicious!! I vote for cheesecake, since that seems complicated to make 😂
"Wash our hands , scales" Rick is such a kid enjoying baking lol so cute. Sending you positive energy and prayers xx
I just love the two of you together!
You should do a Mum Verdict in the end where your mum or sister give it a go .... that would be the best!
You guys are too cute☺️, I was grinning the whole way through💙
Baked Cheesecake next
Your apple cake looks delicious 🍎😊 just a suggestion: you could clip the baking paper in and then cut the edges off, this way no dough/cake can run underneath the baking paper 😉 I then put butter on the edges with a baking brush and dust it with a little bit of flour, this way nothing will stick on the baking pan or tray 😊
This was so entertaining - loved it! Definitely cheesecake next time x
Brilliant!! You are both so funny together. Laughed when you nearly dropped the cake Lily.
I definitely think a cheesecake next ❤❤❤
Lily my family also have and LOVE this Mary Berry recipe but use an updated one from a 90s aga cookbook!!! When I was little I always thought it was 'life's a butter dream' too, it conjured up lovely buttery imagery haha, made perfect sense me!
I am LOVING these videos!!! You two are genius for doing this series!
Fab video, any reason you were making your life extra hard by having the mixer facing away from you?
Catriona Marston lol. No. No reason other than that we don’t know what we’re doing 😂
So fun, looks like you guys enjoyed making it, love to see other recipes 🥧🥧🍰🍰
Thanis so much Lily, this cake is fabulous. It helps to watch you n Rich💕
I loved this video, it's raining here and I'm sat watching this video feeling cozy and autumnal 🍂 looking forward to episode 3! Happy sunday everyone 🥰
Could you please write the recipe (or a link for an online recipe) in the description box ? This sounds lovely!
Also "drying rack"? Do you mean cooling rack? 😅 Brilliant video. Perfect for a Sunday morning!
Alice Banks yes 😂
Alice Banks I like drying, think I’ll use that now.

Love the new series. You guys are so entertaining. Can't wait for future episodes.
I’ve never commented on any of your videos but I just had to on this one.....I loved this and found myself laughing out loud. It’s so natural and shows an insight into your family life. Can’t wait for the next one.....cheesecake please 😊

It is so funny watching you two learn how to bake!
Loved this!! Cant wait for more x
This was fantastic. You guys are adorable! Anna’s cookies! 😁
I smiled and laughed all the way through this! You two are great together! Cheesecake please! New York style!
I love how real and raw this video is 💕 Pls make more videos like this 😊
Im so not a baker but my little gem of advice is that if you scrunch the greaseproof paper into a ball then unfold it it will lie flat.
“I think we have all the ingredients”
*Kill Bill sirens in the distance*
Love this cooking video, so cute!! You guys work well together in the kitchen :)
I loooove this video more videos like this please 😃 love how you and Rich were plus the ease of the video, perfectly imperfect.
Do Mke honey cake, sticky toffee pudding or could you make red velvet Whoopie pies 😁.
You could do a poll for what to bake next.
Loved this and the cake looks so good! LOL at Rich's cream blob. Would love to see you both attempt cheesecake :)
Love this series with the both of you! ❤️ I really bake alot and it's so nice watching you learn how to do it. 🍰😊
Little tip for greaseproof paper, if you want it to lay flat, scrunch it up in a ball and then flatten it out, it makes it more pliable ☺️
You two are so genuine and so entertaining, i love it! Never made a honey cake and it sounds delicious!
this is exactly the content I'm here for, thank you so very much for blessing my sub box with these
OMG this made me laugh so many times!! I love this series. Please make so many more :) Also I'm Swedish and never heard of this and I bake quit a bit, it always makes me laugh when stuff like this happen.
Good one. I can not wait for the next episode.
CHEESECAKE !!!!! that will be hilarious!!!! Love it, fab fab video, my fav so far, so funnyyyy xxxx

Rich, ‘1 Mississippi, 2 Mississippi, 3 Mississippi’ 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Vote- cheese cake. I am going to try and make this looks yummy! Laughed when you told rich off for taking more cake at the end haha! I think rich can secretly bake, he seems to know what he’s doing xx
I love this video! So good to see a different more relaxed side to Lily and Rich, and to their relationship 🥰❤️
Through enjoyed how much of a real baking video this was.
Great video, so glad there’s going to be more x
Love it! So funny and relatable!
Loved this video! You two are so sweet together! Wait till Grey gets big enough to “help”! 😂💕👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 I vote honey cake! 🍯🍽🍯🍽
life hack: put the grease paper on the bottom and click the side back on. then cut! much easier and it's stuck between the two halves :)
I am really not into baking but I love seeing you together, such a great combinaison of personalities !
This was simultaneously very fun and very stressful to watch for me, lol. My baker control freak side was DYING 😂😂😂
I’m a professional baker and this was hilarious to watch 😂😍❤️
My mum has been using this exact recipe for years! I've also adopted it, but use granny smith as they don't go so soft and make 1.5x the cake mixture for a tin that size! so yummy

I love eating Granny Smith apples instead of red ones! The tartness is great Rich, embrace the tartness!
Best thing I have seen in a long time lol. You two are great together 🥰. Going to have to try this recipe 🍏🥧
Here’s the recipe! www.maryberry.co.uk/recipes/baking/the-very-best-apple-dessert-cake
This was hilarious. Please do more!
I like that you guys are not experts and aren't trying to make a perfect baking video. More relatable as I am a terrible baker. : )
Oh my WORLD!!! This was hilarious. I love you guys. Definitely cheesecake next, can't wait X
My mum always makes an apple cake with the apples on top with cinnamon and sugar. Yum 😋 you guys were hilarious 🤣🤣
It's so nice that you asked your mom instead of Siri Love that!
Tip for the grease proof paper rolling up: scruch it into a ball then flatten it out again
ooh I'd never heard this one! Thanks
If it possible I would have lily decorate and plan my kitchen for me. For some reason watching rich is always a joy aswell
New York cheesecake is so easy! I make it all the time. I wouldn’t say mine are perfect but they are sooo delicious. Would highly recommend adding it to your baking repertoire lol
Love this video and the interactions between the two of you!
You made me LOL so much that I almost ... I love your genuine personality. I wish that you would bake honey cake next.
So funny! Yes, definitely read the whole recipe before you start! Using a different sized pan will give a different result - just sayin'! And yes, you can overmix. Omg brilliant! Need one of these recipes every week
You guys are hilarious!!! Had so much fun watching this 😁
You two are hilarious bakers. It is nice.
I actually enjoyed this episode :))) Good job guys
my granny's best tip for baking was: "before you start, you need to get all the ingredients out, weight and organize them (aka lay them out pre-weighted on the counter in order of use). then and only then, you can start baking."
So cute!! Love you guys!!!!
When I’m awake at 8.30 and look for your Sunday video to get ready to lol ...tuning back in at 9.20 and it’s up and I still haven’t got ready lol 🥳😂
This was so nice to watch! I loved it! I vote on the cheese cake
You guys are absolutely hilarious and cute together!
This is just the kinda video I want to watch on a Sunday. ❤ oh and you absolutely have to do cheesecake. If you do a 'no-bake' one it's suuuper easy!
Honey Cake!!! I love this!!! You two are adorable!! I’m so glad you decided to do this series together!!!
I’m definitely baking this at the weekend, it looks so good xx
Where I live we call those springform pans. 😀
