For the viewers that cannot do their own work: Do NOT go in and ask for a 5000, 10000 mile etc service on your Harley. Simply ask to have the fluids changed. That is usually cheaper. Also, oil every 5000 miles, Primary every 10,000 miles and Transmission every 20,000 miles. Owners Manual gives the specifics. The Owner's Manual shows multiple pages of things to check on a "Service" point. You're paying for extra things that are probably never looked at. Only ask for fluid changes when the manual says they should be done.
AMSOIL is a fine oil but the price per quart is way too high. I use Mobile 1 V-Twin from Walmart, it’s $10 a quart. I do use Redline trans and primary oil at a lofty $35+ a quart.
You should never take your oil dipstick out until your oil is almost drained out. There are two reasons for if you take your oil cap off the oil draining will come out so fast it'll splash. Second reason is if the oil comes out fast with the cap on that means your oil separators at the top of your engine need to be replaced
Im using a harbor freight jack and so far it hasn’t failed me 🤞I always inspect before use & it’s a cup holder from Harley . I like it but if your tall it will interfere if your shifting.
Not defending HD service but In all fairness, the HD SYN oil change with primary and transmission oil kit is $195 alone. So on a 1000 mile service, they are going to spend about 1.5-2 hours to perform the service. Repair rates on everything has absolutely gotten out of hand. That’s why it’s cheaper to buy the tools and learn how to do your own service.
So total cost for 5 quarts was $97 . That beats $450 for Harley to service the bike . Also I only ran amsoil because it runs the engine a lot cooler than Harley’s oil .
LOL, you need to shop around bud, here in Canada it's $19 a Quart! It should be cheaper in the US. The guy that gave you the quote is not your friend! Amsoil is top grade synthetic, but use whatever you want. Oil change is cheap maintenance, and I would not use cheap oil in any motor.
Leave the dip stick in until you remove the drain plug and you'll get less spillage. By the way, you need to choose different music or don't use any at all. The choice you made for this video is irritating and distracting for a how to video.

I would never go 10k to 20k they are about 1. Quart of oil each about $15 bucks.
Awesome video. Very informative and a great way to save a few bucks. Keep these videos coming.
Thank you so much i appreciate it.

Amsoil played you sweet....

@@WalkerTexasplumber 🤣🤣🤣
If your using amsoil your not saving much. Got quoted $31 per quart, that’s more than aviation grade oil.its a ripoff price.

@@CYCLEMAVHD didn’t say to take it to a HD dealer for oil change. Jut saying amsoil is over priced.

@@Indianear7 I appreciate the feedback thank you . Yes music is always a struggle to please everyone. I will take that into consideration.
You don’t need a torque wrench
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 boy!!!
Complaining about what Harley charges, yet uses and expensive oil that doesn't provide any better protection than the cheapest Walmart stuff.
