I get the happy thing. I love it when I bring a guitar back to life. It’s like it’s happy to be in the hands of someone who appreciates it. I can play with it for hours. Then, you want the recipient to feel the same. There’s no such thing as a bad guitar. Just work on it ‘till it sings.

Hey Dave, just speaking for myself, I really appreciate your videos fixing things and showing how they are made etc. I suppose some others prefer the music 🎼 which is always great but sometimes it’s interesting to watch you make a guitar 🎸 work again. On this video I learned about the tuners. I’ve seen those on a few guitars but didn’t know what they were. Thanks for showing them. Also you did a great job cleaning it. It doesn’t look at all like trash 🗑. Nice work. 🎸🎵💛

Dave - Greetings from Sleaford Lincs.
I do a lot of local guitar repairs / set ups and have handled a couple of Encore Lps over the years which are actually not bad players. The body is usually made of basswood which as you will know is found on cheap guitars you might find in Lidl at Xmas right up to Ibanez Jems and EVH Wolfgangs.
I would love to have a jam with you someday - from one Hendrix / Trower lover to another.
    Regards - Phil.

There's a lot of fun and satisfaction in renovating a guitar - even a really cheap one. I've got a HB DC Junior in pelham blue that I have modded mechanically a lot: lower intonatable bridge, locking tuners, schaller strap locks, pickup spacer height raiser, sanded back of neck, changed screws to get an all blacked out look on the scratch plate and P90 cover - I didn't want chrome or nickel - just black and blue. It's a gem now for less than £200. Dave, you would love it! A point about locking tuners that you may agree with - they are for quicker and easier string change and not tuning stability. I will never part with it because 2nd hand, it's worth about £120 but to me it's a great looker and player now. I LOVE P90s!
You rescue that Encore feller but stay the hell away from those bloody awful Satellite guitar things man! 🤑

Fabulous video as per usual, Mr Dave. I do like me a project video and one with it seems a happy ending. I was late watching cause I spent many hours yesterday looking at guitars and amps that I don't need, don't have space for and can't afford. Some might say time wasted but not me. I stayed strong though, didn't buckle under the force. proud of me you would be. I need to stop typing like I am Yoda but once you start down the dark path of guitar gear googling, forever will it dominate your destiny. Consume you, it will.

Awesome video! I have never heard of Encore guitars! It really helps to know how to work on your own guitars, I resurrected my 1994 Peavy Reactor (Tele-style guitar, one of the first CNC machined if I recall correctly) had a bad connection in the wiring harness (tension on things that are at rest always fascinates me!) that took about 10 minutes to fix: 5min to look up the wiring diagram, and 5min for my soldering iron to heat up and me take everything apart, solder the connection and put everything back together. I probably saved $50USD.

On My recent purchase of a brand new Fender Strat player which I got at a very good price it came brand new in a box but set up the action why to high and intonation was wrong.
So I looked YT for information and put a capo on the first fret and on the 12 fret pressed down the low e string and on the 6 fret place a 006 feeler gauge and turned the truss rod until just only the feeler gauge could just about slip through.
I always thought the neck should be straight and it seems not to be the case

Encore guitars get a bad rap because the "C" is silent in that statement.
Seriously though the Strats they sell are absolute Pony. I've been given severa lin the past All very bad and on all the fretboard was literally painted on.
You can sand all the paint of back to what I presume is maple or something similar, level the frets refile the nut set the action and likely have to shim the neck, then set them up and they will play very well for a couple of weeks, and then the temperature changes the neck all goes out of align and you're back where you started. Have to say though Encores do uses better wood than some of the super cheap Chinese guitars that won't even burn properly.

Sometimes those off brands can be real gems. If it feels good you can change everything if necessary to make it sound the way you want but I don’t think you have very far to go with that one. I’m puzzled by the twisting of the red wire. I can’t figure out how or why that happened. Weird. Good to see you enjoying yourself doing something productive.
