I wish we could live in a peaceful homogenous society like Japanese. It use to be like that here in Sweden but not anymore. Its chaotic and now violence in our days everyday. I feel so sad living in my own country anymore.

I remember the first time I entered a supermarket in Japan (Australian here), I was walking down an aisle, thinking to myself "This must be the Asian Food Aisle"!!! My two years living and working in Japan (2007 to 2009) were the best two years of my life (so far).

I love how grocery stores there offer items in smaller quantities than American stores. Being single, I find it wasteful to have to buy larger sizes of items which can be wasteful.

Hi Lou for your nails invest in vitamin E oil and rub into the nail and cuticles every night I suffer from Sjogren's disease, and this has helped my nails you need just a drop on each nail so a small bottle will last a long time :)

Hi Lou! I've seen people missing you and waiting for your next vlog, and I am one of them! Of course with a full time job, it is not easy to film and edit, or plan which content to post. But sharing what you call your ordinary life in Japan is actually inspirational for most, and relaxing for others. I work remotely at home and after work, I relax before I cook dinner. I turn on the tv and watch your vlogs. My family will say, is that Lou again? See? You've become a mainstay in my home. Love your simple cooking and how much you try to keep yourself healthy! Hi Dear, Sweet, Lou. It's me, your friend from TX, USA. If you don't mind, I would like to tell you I also had the same problems as you (weight, dry nails, pain under left breast, tired, sometimes sad). These are all signs of low thyroid. Many doctors said my thyroid is ok, but, finally a specialist did the proper tests and we found out my thyroid is very low. Medication helped me so much! Doctors often don't listen or respond well to thyroid issues. Its very important for your health to make sure thyroid is at a good level, especially since you had some of it removed. Good for you for the exercising. Remember, muscle weighs more than fat so don't get too discouraged if your weight does not reduce like expected. 😊

Hello, Lou C. I had pain, also, under my left breast at your age. I had scans and biopsies more than once. I am 60 now, and have had the pain for 35 years. Otherwise, I am in excellent health. The pain is just part of my life but nothing is wrong. I pray the same for you.

Thank you for another interesting and very relaxing video. The next time you purchase green onions, save the root part that you cut off and stick them in a glass of water. After the roots become 2-3 inches, you can put them in soil and never buy green onions again. They are the easiest plant to grow. Watch a video on it for to see.
A little balcony garden would be a great idea for onions, herbs, and be nice idea for fresh garlic chives too. 🪴Not mention fun.

A good thing to remember for dry nails is to make sure when you use hand lotion to include your nails the lotion helps them as much as your skin

The soup 🍲 with gyoza (dumplings) looks soooooooo good. As well, the okonomiyaki type breakfast you made yum yum 😋 You’re a chef in the making 😆 👏🏼 👏🏼 Thanks for sharing how life in Japan is for you. Out here in Las Vegas, NV 🇺🇸 during the summer it is very dry with little rain. As well, the temperature today will be 40 degrees Celsius (next week one day may be 48 🥵 🥵) so it is very hot in the desert. The air conditioner runs but we use fans to keep cool during the day and night. If your new pillow doesn’t help, a small fan may help or (weather permitting) leaving your window open slightly to let the fresh air/cooler weather inside may help too. I also lose weight quickly, but I also gain weight quickly. I had put on weight during the cold season, but with a little extra cycling and a slightly reduced food intake for breakfast, those kilos came off quickly. Wish you all the best!

I love and embellish the fact that one can conquer obstacles in their path. I too have fallen on that path, sometimes it's hard and others a bit easier non the less it's not how u fall but how u get up so I like the way u said "fall down 7 times, get up 8"
It's such a different cooking experience from here in the "meat and two veg" UK. I had to look up what exactly gyoza and bonito flakes were. Garlic chives? Hang on, we have garlic and we have chives, but garlic chives? And pouring the beaten egg into the stock? I haz a confused. It does look sort of tasty... I need to expand my culinary horizons.
Garlic chives and regular chives are both in the onion family. Much milder in favor and delicious, they are very easy to grow in a container yourself. I recommend that you try them. The purple flowers on the regular chives can be eaten too and make beautiful addition to salads and the like. (My favorite are the garlic chives)

Everyone should know how to cook their own food and enjoy it. Wanted to say idk if you need that much laundry soap for so few clothes. I’d use half that much, even if bottle recommended it. They always recommend more than you need to make money ! Also, pain under your left breast. Could be lots of things that are not breast related. Check it out before getting too worried. Good luck with everything.

hey :) when you get up in the morning, leave your window/balcony door open and don't make your bed right away. You sweat when you sleep and should (so that no mold develops) air out the bed for 30 minutes. means that you do not lay the blanket straight, but put it to the side or from the bed, for the 30 minutes and with the window/balcony open.❤

Eggs are not refrigerated when you buy them here in Australia.
20 years ago, here in the US, you had to refrigerate them -- perhaps you bought them straight from the farm? It is because of the washing process that stripes the outer protective lining.
