    I feel bad for the pooor people trying to learn italian.. I am myself Italian and I automatically apply these grammar rules while talking but I'm sure I couldn't explain them to someone as clearly as you do! Great job! :)

    I'm an Italian living in Italy and by chance I've ended up watching this video. Amazing class Tom! This is not an easy piece of the Italian grammar, at all. We Italians do like using these pronouns together, since the conversation becomes more fluent and faster without always repeating the same and already mentioned words. Congrats Tom 👏

    You explain it very clearly. La ringrazio da cuore. I usually got confused la regola principale. There are things I couldn't ask my teacher because she can't explain it in english, solo in Italiano. I think I finally found the right channel that would help me clarify my confusions. Sto imparando la lingua Italiana, A2 e B1. Alla prossima puntata. God bless you more.

    Hi I'm Italian and I follow you to improve my spoken English because you're a very good teacher, but I've a problem I want share with you: i don't understand English spoken by youtubers, they talk so fast. Can you recommend me the way to improve the listening and how to remember the words?(sorry for my English man)

    • @ciaobella796
      @ciaobella796 6 лет назад

      Hi, I speak fluent English and I'm currently learning Italian through Tom's channel and I understand what you mean when you say they speak so fast because Italians speak so fast I only get one two words and just try and connect the conversation. For me it's easier reading Italian than speaking but there's no easy way out, we have to learn to speak it, e' meglio parlare un po di niente, giusto? 😂 Italian is a sweet language to not only speak but hear it, it sounds like one is singing, lol. Grazie mille Tom, following your lessons, stuck at ep18 but what the heck, gat to keep goin' no matter what .

    Hi Tom, I would like to know why did you change the indefinite article 'una' to the definite 'la' in the sentence: ''ti voglio offrire una birra'' as ''te la voglio offrire''. thanks

    •  6 лет назад +1

      Ciao James! That's an excellent question. Technically speaking I should have used "ne" instead because with "una" we're referring to quantity. So it should have become "te ne voglio offrire una" or "ti voglio offrirne una." But I was just trying to show how for feminine things we use "la" and when placed after the indirect object pronoun "ti" you get "te la."

    Ciao Tom una domanda per favore....in the example: can you explain the rule to Maria......in your answer----Gliela spiega subito.-----what happened to the verb can--puoi..in your answer...grazie mille ciao

    •  7 лет назад

      Ciao Louis! Think of it like in English, when someone asks you a question "Can you explain..." you don't have to respond saying "Yes, I can explain..." you can just say "Sure, I'll explain it..." so that's what we did with that example in Italian :)

  • @websterproductions5600
    @websterproductions5600 8 лет назад

    Ciao! Quick question, why is it that some words that are just left by itself, such as "faccio" which in English is "I". However, when it's followed by another word, such as "video". It means "I make videos" something completely different.
    Grazie in anticipo!

    •  8 лет назад +1

      +Webster C Hey Webster! So "faccio" is the first person (I) conjugation of the verb "fare," which means "to do" or "to make" - just depends on the context. So when you put it in a phrase and say something like "faccio un video" (I make a video), the meaning of the verb isn't "do" because in English we don't say "I do a video". I hope this helps! :)

    I got a question: "ci prometti che verrai alla festa ?" is a question, so in english I have to say "Do you promise us to come to the Party" o mi sbaglio?

    • @lucasm4299
      @lucasm4299 8 лет назад

      It is correct.
      If you want to emphasize that the event is in the future you could say
      "Do you promise us that you will come to the party? "
      "Do you promise us that you will go to the party? "
      If you wanted to suggest a friend to go then drop the "Do you"

    • @lucasm4299
      @lucasm4299 8 лет назад

      You don't HAVE to say it that way. There are multiple ways.
      Tom's translation was "Promise us you'll come to the party". Also correct.

    Italian object pronouns are so confusing! Everything is backwards! Why do the direct object pronouns and the indirect object pronouns look suspiciously similar? And now I have to combine them?!
    Don't give up your dream of speaking Italian just yet. Tom is here, with a very helpful and encouraging video.
