We documented our application to be part of an OC Bus Customer Roundtable for the year 2020. During the application process we recalled our time being part of an exclusive passenger advisory committee for the MTA twenty years ago.
These are scenes of that late evening.

OCTA have their proposals for their own "NextGen", I'll send you the file via email. But here are some changes, I'll summarize:
Bravo 543: More weekday service. But, weekend service will be discontinued in favor of frequent Line 43. This kinda makes sense as both local and bravo have unreliable frequencies on weekends. 30 minute local and 30 minute Rapid.
Bravo 560: Service will be truncated in Westminster where the short line trips Line 60 layover. Service to CSULB will be replaced by all-day Line 60 route. Line 60 will run all trips end-to-end. This will pull a Metro Line 711 card.
Line 29: Service will be truncated at Buena Park Station. Service north of Buena Park Station will be replaced by an extension of Line 129. As speaking of Line 129, service east of Brea Mall will be replaced by an extension of Route 59. I could tell why OCTA felt Line 29 north of Metrolink didn't have heavy demand and overcrowd which is likely why they didn't bother extending Line 529 to La Habra. Although, I heard rumors Line 529 could be extended south to Huntington Beach.
Line 83: Would be extended north to Fullerton Park and Ride. This sounds good on paper, but this extension could affect Metro Line 460. Hopefully, MTA continues Line 460 to Disneyland as the one-seat ride is important similar when Metro stated Line 53 one-seat to CSUDH is important.
Lines 701, 721, 794, & all Commuter Express Lines: Will be discontinued completely.
53X: Will be upgraded to Bravo Line 553. This one is approved. However, Local Line 53 will end at South Coast Plaza instead of Irvine. Modified Line 86 will provide alternative to replace the southern segment of 53. OCTA should continue the 53 to Irvine, but let Bravo 553 end at South Coast Plaza instead. The 53 proposal is not approved yet.
123: Service will be relocated to Fullerton Park & Ride, service east of Buena Park Station to Anaheim Canyon will be cancelled. This pretty much revert to the majority of Line 21 route.
38: Extended to Los Cerritos Center. I'll accept it, but Lakewood Center makes more sense as it is a direct route from Pioneer Bl. Service east of Fairmont to Anaheim Hills, abandoned.
42: Service west of Hawaiian Gardens will be discontinued. Line 46 extension will cover majority of Line 42 to Seal Beach. This change sorta reminds me of the 152/162 change MTA did for their NextGen.
37: Service will be relocated to Fullerton Station with service north of Malvern to La Habra discontinued completely.
47: Service south of Newport Beach Pier will be abandoned.
More changes are listed. Like I said, I'll send you the file about more information.

Awesome video, It was nice that you got to participate in Metro’s Transit Committee and get some nice perks! I agree with you that OCTA should restore normal weekday service on major routes while keeping Saturday service on less busy routes, and they should also extend the 529 not only northbound to La Habra or Whittwood but also southbound to Huntington Beach

Bravo Route 529 have much potential if given the greenlight to be so. We would also like to see Route 29A resume normal operations throughout the day as well. Thank you for the comment!

It turns out OCTA is now doing what Metro was doing. They are creating their own version of the NextGen Bus Plan. Though, there are no proposed route changes for now. They are currently doing a survey for its riders similar to this video and also MTA's NextGen survey video shown in the first NextGen video that was published in this video. It is currently unknown if Bravos routes will affected similar to Metro Rapid routes where 90% of the lines were abolished. However the scenario is unlikely as OCTA has plans to release Bravo Routes on Lines 38, 57 & 64 as their long-term range in the future. There are some rumors that OCTA could extend Line 529 south to Huntington Beach only. Northern terminal will still be at Fullerton Park & Ride unfortunately.

As we predicted, the MTA’s NextGen plan will spread to other agencies in another name as the underlying goal is the same. We are hopeful that OCTA will listen to its riders for future plans.

Nice video mam! Thank you for showing us how to fill it out all this. Yeah monday to friday schedules for major routes!
And your right about the route 543 bravo buses are ahead of schedule time and sometimes they are follwing the 43 .
Also some trippers am and pm . They should be ahead the regular routes so the regular route can be on time.👍✌😎

Here are my suggestions for the OC Bus service which I'll put it in the mail later on. This is I have so far.
    - OC Bus 43 and 543 should be extended to Puente Hills Mall via Harbor Bl and Colima Rd, north. Southern extension to Newport Beach at Hoag hospital. Consider operating articulated buses on the 543.
    - The 143 shuttle should be discontinued. The Brea Bl segment should be replaced by Line 47. The Harbor Bl segment given to Line 43. The La Habra Bl segment should be given by either Line 57 or Line 29.
    - Line 38, possible extension to Lakewood Mall. Consider operating Bravo service between Anaheim Hills to Del Amo Blue Line Station or at least at Lakewood Mall.
    - Line 83 and 91 would be merged and renumber as Line 172, operating one seat ride from Disneyland to San Clemente.
    - An express bus between UCI to LA Union Station serving Newport Beach TC and CSULB, via PCH, I-405, and I-110.
    - Consider adding a stop for Line 701 at Norwalk Green Line Station with an eastern extension to Irvine Spectrum Center.
    - Consider extending Line 721 to either Dana Point, San Juan Capistrano, or Mission Viejo.

Those are some great suggestions but unfortunately most of what you would like to see is not in the OCTA service areas. If this was the 1970s, maybe half of what you suggested might have been implemented behind political and public support but we can only imagine here. So let’s go over some bus lines...
It would be fantastic to visualize OCTA Route 43/543 terminated at Brea Mall while Foothill Transit extended Line 286 beyond Brea Mall operating along Imperial Hwy, Beach Blvd, Whittier Blvd and Colima road to terminate at Puente Hills Mall. This would give residents of North Orange County and Eastern Los Angeles County better transfers to and from their destinations. We would like to see this proposed between Foothill and OCTA to assist the promotion of the OC Street Car.
OCTA Route 38 extension to Lakewood Center Mall could be a possibility if it operated as a limited stop service from La Palma to Lakewood Center Mall, picking up and dropping off riders at major intersections only.
OCTA Route 83 and 91 could be combined as a longer route if riders would like this service as it would be a one seat ride instead of transferring at Laguna Hills Transit Center. Since the MTA is proposing a fareless transit system in Los Angeles County, we only assume that residents along the corridor where OCTA Route 83 currently serves would like to see a return of MTA Line 460 to Santa Ana. An OCTA Route at Santa Ana would continue further south combining both route 83 and 91.
OCTA Route 701 stopping at Norwalk Metro Greenline station would not be recommended because Norwalk is not an OCTA service area and the MTA will make an excuse to cancel Line 460. Since 2011, the MTA wanted to terminate the premium express portion to Downtown LA on three separate occasions in this decade alone. It’s a 99% possibility that the MTA will terminate the premium express portion of Line 460 if OCTA 701 puts a stop at Norwalk Station. The MTA will say something like “Line 460 will cancel the express portion due to duplication of services and to reduce overlap with OCTA Route 701” YIKES, we surely do not want that in this so called “Join the Movement” era. Look what’s happening to MTA Line 130, those residents along the Artesia corridor will be left out of the fareless transit party as their one seat bus ride will be sliced up in half forcing riders to transfer at the dangerous A (Blue) line station and will have to pay their fares to Torrance and Long Beach agencies respectably.
We would like to see OCTA Route 1 connect to North San Diego County Transit line for better connection since there is about 10 mile gap from San Clemente to the nearest transit agency.
Thank you for the comment and suggestions.

There was a question on what would we like to see after COVID-19. We suggested for Bravo 529 extend further north along Beach Blvd. Did you also apply as well?
