      It’s so far removed from what djs do, that likening it to DJing is actually probably very disrespectful. Vjing is a lot closer to DJing than what an LD does, unless the vj has actually made the content they are playing back and effecting.

      he mostly configures all the effects and stuff before hand you can even do it at home on your PC with the dot 2 program and then he selects what he wants to do on the screen and uses the faders to transition between the chases or presets. i never did anything this crazy so i could be missing stuff but its kinda that, the thing is knowing what will look good with the songs

      It’s actually kinda both since he has to know what songs will be performed in the concert and also has to see what the artist is doing on stage to make the lights react to the performance, it’s honestly a cool job to do

    • @rbgnx
      @rbgnx Год назад +23

      I'm kinda late to this but you can see at the left of the video there's a macbook with different waveforms, well, thats exactly whats happening at the DJ booth on real time (he can see when the drop is coming, how long is the track, when is the other track playing etc.), but that's not always the case, most of the time LJs work blind, so basically, reacting to the music.

      For touring concerts with a setlist they are programmed. It’s called timecode the cues will all fire themselves at the correct time if it’s programmed right. But with a live act with no setlist the only option is busking

    From my aboslutely ignorance, why does it seems that you are handling it manually? Isn´t that all automatized or programmed? Nice video btw

    • @FearDiamond
      @FearDiamond Год назад

      Thats because the DJ changes the set every night, in some shows it is programmed but if its programed then you have to use a prerecorded set which some people don't like

    • @random-ic9qd
      @random-ic9qd Год назад +1

      You have pre-programmed individual things, such as that the lights circle, then you still have a flicker that you put on it, and the color. In principle, you have hundreds of possibilities that you can pre-program and in the end only have to put together to create a reasonable show.
      Of course, this is even more complicated
