  • Use Apple Motion to stabilize your hyperlapses. Paired with After Effects this is a very powerful combo to stabilize difficult hyperlapse shots.

Nice to see you use Motion. It's so underrated.

It really is! And especially at that price point. I've covered it for more timelapse editing in the timelapse course

Is it possible to do this with just motion and FCPX?

Maybe I should also try it.
I have so many problems with after effects for a good 2 years and now also with my new Macbook. Ae just doesn't want to start the stabilizer. In Pr it works without any problems. The problem about it, you can't use masks. I've already sent my file to Adobe support and I was told they were trying that on there side...

      Explain circular hyperlapse?

@@MatthewVandeputte , thanks mate .I mean making a circular or rounded programmed flight with a drone over a building, recording a time lapse during a construction. I’m having troubles to do an acceptable stabilization. I tried after effects but since you wont have always the same anchor points visible in the end it looks terrible! Waiting for your reply. Hug.

FCPX has an adjustable 'Stabilisation' function offering 'Method' : (Automatic, InertiaCam, SmoothCam)
      variable 'Smoothing' and 'Tripod Mode'.
Highlight clip in timeline to be stabilised. Then In the Inspector window click on the filmstrip icon (next to triangular Color Board icon) Scroll down to show and tick the Stabilisation box.The default setting for Smoothing (1) works fine in most cases.
