I’m from palatka fl Putnam county,I was in lake butler back in 2000-2001. and everything he said is facts. I was shipped to FSP work camp which is next to Florida state prison. Death row was right next door from FSP work camp where I was housed. I remember the day they executed someone, because everybody was locked down and under a no movement policy. I saw the hearse back up to the building and bring a gurney out with a body wrapped up. my work detail was repairing the roof on death row and kitchen detail. I remember the long bench he talked about and busting my cheeks open. Forcibly taking my blood and cutting all my hair off, taking a lye bath with a hundred different men. And oh yeah everybody got a bald head mandatory, and if you bucked the rules you got your ass knocked out or worse. Everybody tough until they hit lake butler or any prison. Moral of this synopsis is do the right thing and be honest and live legit. Because Ronnie red is right man you can get killed in prison or get maimed in there. lake butler and Florida state prison was so scary I haven’t been back to prison since I left there with I think a hundred and twenty dollars in my pocket from the state of Florida. so for you young people or anybody I would highly advise to think about your actions because either way you go there’s consequences and repercussions for your actions. Look before you jump off on something because of your emotions and pride.

They work the shit out of the inmates. I’ve been to 7 compounds a few more violent ones but something about lake Butler is just depressing. All them Florida prisons north of Orlando are stuck in the old days. It’s the family business in the pan handle. Generations of family members are guards. They can’t wait to come to work and get in a convicts ass. They lay in bed in their trailer parks dreaming about throwing your personal property on the floor.

He went to another state to get away did 2 years there, came back to Florida did another 3 years. He's back in county looking at state time again. :(

I will say I only ever had one problem with anyone because I always kept it a buck with the pts I had. I didn’t like ppl trying to game me so if you needed something come to me as a man and ask don’t try to slick talk to get it and if it was something I could do I tried to help.
