Hi, this is an interesting vlog, it will be interesting to see how you continue. I have a 1989 Seahawk 190, now being fitted with newer 150hp E-Tec, previously mounted with 150hp Optimax. Next job is to renew the wirering. Otherwise the boat is in great condition and very seaworthy.
Im still on the fence if i want to put twins on mine with a bracket or just a big single with a bracket. Whichever way i go i will make sure that i have a backup plan for when i go 50+ miles out. Wiring the boat is my favorite part. Im a computer ride and show tech at disney l. Being off these last two weeks has let me plan all the boat repair.
I had a 1987 offshore yachts 21..same hull. I loved the Carolina flare bow. Great lines on that boat. Unfortunately mine sunk 3 times before I sold it. It had developed a crack from where your sledge hammer is to the transom. I got really good at resurrecting the Yamaha 225 ox66. Are you concerned about the sides of the boat getting out of shape with everything cut out? I see some rebuilders string a line to keep the sides from bellying out.
Before I removed any of the stringers or transom i made measurments every one foot on the top of the gunwale for 10 feet from the transom forward. Today after cutting everything out i checked the measurements and it hasn't deflected at all. I think because the outside skin of the transom is still intact and how i have it blocked i prevented it from moving. The carolina bow flare is absolutely beautiful and i agree with you 100%.
Coming along nicely!
