I did this technique on a client few days ago and it worked!!! I was so excited and yelled..lol. Client asked what happened.. I replied..nothing just perfection hehe. Thank you again Greg for your master brain and always coming up with something new and sharing it!💅🏼💅🏼❤️❤️
41 years as a manicurist. I am a great manicurist but I have some terrible habits! I am not prepared, and I talk too much. Love these videos, ty Young Nails. It’s never too late for me to learn❤️🙋🏼♀️
Oh my gosh, where have you been all my short career? I haven't been doing nails very long and Greg makes me feel like I'm learning all the secrets! Yay me!!!! Lol
You guys never cease to amaze me. Putting that to use on Monday. I ordered my box online along with some other things. Super excited for my surprise!!!!🤩🤩🤩
You guys, you don’t know how awesome is to learn this stuff from you guys. I had ideas but you reassured me of what I need to do and do it right. Keep it up bc I’m a number 1 fan! Can’t wait to take a class 👌🏼💅🏼😍
Love this video. The salon I work at will not let use electric files. We have to do everything with a hand file, they do not see the need for a electronic file. I hope by showing them your videos I can change that!
Wow those are Super Awesome tip Greg thanks so much for sharing them with us,we are on our way to being pros like you,and much big ups to Habib for his hard work as well, without him we would not be able to have or watch all the Awesome videos you so kindly share with us Great Job
Great Vlog today!!! So important in our industry to know this technique. Greg you are the best at explaining the fundamentals and best techniques in our industry!!!! Thanks for the great video!!! I ordered my $100.00 box today, thank you for the GREAT Black Friday Deals today!!! Hoping everyone had a great holiday yesterday!!!
Love your videos even though I have natural, short nails which I do myself. Would you ever consider a video on how to do a professional manicure for nails without decorations....a natural nail. Also maintaining and caring for natural nails? What nail shapes are best for hand shapes, etc. Years ago I had sculpted nails, got an infection and was told by my Dr never to do it again because I was allergic to something. Thank you.
Thank you so much for all of your knowledge that you share! You have helped me so much. My question is, why would you use the crosscut bit as opposed to an Arbour band here? I have a crosscut but am afraid to use it as I feel like it could easily cut my client. 🙂
Cuticle oil is ur best friend! Use it multiple times a day and find another habit lol. Google what is under nails and I guarantee they won't be near ur mouth again lol
Question: does this method apply for pink gel as well? I’ve trying to look for a way to getting rid of lifting the best I can, but there are certain lifts that doesn’t matter what bit I use or how much I dwell on it, it doesn’t come out. Should I just get rid of that whole area instead?
Protien bond is that like a base coat? And if a client comes in with acrylic nails and you only have gel can you use that to fix the nail or wont it work?
I watch other people as well but this is good compared to how much is how much experience some other people have in this business and that music oh my goodness it's funny I don't know if I'm ready to try to freestyle do my rap thing yet
Omg the wrist pain taking 3 hours mostly filling and hurting my “models” I don’t have clients yet but I’m just buying a drill and can’t wait to save time doing nails
Any tips for lifting (both avoiding, and removal of) at the free edge with builder gel? Similar concept to this video still? I'm very much just a diy-er and this was my first attempt at bg (used one in a bottle). I followed all the prep tips I've seen but i think it might just be my nails, they're very thin/flimsy which is why i was trying the bg (and i guess i may not have roughed them up enough first, trying to avoid thinning them further). Should i just not be using bg on damaged nails? I'd previously been using dip powder and keeping a clear dip overlay on them but i found it difficult to fill and i couldn't get peel base to work over it (despite trying so many things) so figured I'd try bg instead, i really feel like they need something on them at all times to give them strength or they'll just bend 😬
Lifting at the free edge can be a result of excess usage of the nails, which can pull the nail away from the product or from the natural nail getting dehydrated. As the nail grows past the nail bed, it doesn't get the moisture from the bed below and can dry out. As it dries out, it can begin to curl and peel away from the product. You can use the Under the Nail Bit to remove separated nail, but also using cuticle oil on a regular basis (several times a day, especially if your hands are in water or washing a lot) to keep them hydrated and flexible. You can also try doing your overlays with Fiber Gel as this works great over thin or damaged nails and has more flexibility than a hard gel over a natural nail. www.youngnails.com/products/under-the-nail-cleaner-carbide-3-32
@@youngnailsinc Super helpful! Thank you so much for responding. Can I confirm I'm understanding correctly - you're suggesting removing the natural nail underneath with that bit? Didn't even know you could do that, but that would honestly be ideal!
Im going to take a course in e file training soon and was wondering can you advise me on what drill bits are best to use for a gel tech, before i go to class? i've only ever hand filed but want to speed up my working time and get a better finish on the nails.
Is "protein bond" the same as "primer?" How is the best way to apply primer? Is it best to use the primer from the same company you purchased the acrylic powder or as I've been told; it doesn't matter what "primer" is used that they all provide the same results. Thank you!
When the nail grows out and the free edge isn't getting moisture from the nail bed any longer, it gets dehydrated and loses it's flexibility. With wear and tear, it can start to pull away. Make sure your clients are using cuticle oil on a regular basis (at least once/twice daily) to help keep the nails hydrated and flexible.
Can you fix lifting with a hand file? I’m a beginner on acrylic and practice on myself however I’m not upgrading to an e file just yet, I wanted to know if it’s possible and if so how do I remove the Lifting?
Quick question.. have ya'll ever used a product called Line Be Gone? (I'm pretty sure that's the correct name) it's in a small brown bottle. One of the other nail techs at work swears by it, I've used it a few times recently to blend tips and around lifting. I dont know a lot about the product but it seems to reset the acrylic around lifting but for a short time makes it soft enough for easy removal especially with an efile.. I've also found that applied over a gel top coat that it seems to soften it for easy removal so you don't have to soak or file very much.. thoughts from the Gurus would be appreciated lol xx
Sam Hugh I'd never heard of it before until she showed me at work recently but it seems to do it's job really well on acrylic. I like how it also seems to make removing gel top coat easier. Do you know if it's a safe product to use long term? I've been doing nails for 19+yrs and had never heard of it here in Australia before but I like it. Hopefully that's not a bad thing lol
Please help!! Somebody??? I'm using the $25 left handed safety bit and the acrylic never did pop it just kept getting thinner and thinner I was afraid I was going to get to my natural now so I stopped do I have the right bit? How many RPMs? Is it my e-file it's a Melodysusie off Amazon??
Here is a great video on removing acrylic: ruclips.net/video/2bWPB_kUvqU/видео.html Unfortunately, we can't speak on other brands as we don't test them.
When I remove lifting, I am under the impression that I am creating more lifting? Is that possible? I remove it with my bit and come back and theres more..?
Just need to be sure you have fully removed all lift not just at the start of it. Leaving any there will allow it to kind of bubble back almost like a screen protector on a phone.
I have to disagree without you, since i knew you here in Mexico City in the Organic Mayan Collection intro, i can do it hand file without damaging, 24 years experience and practice.
Morning ok my motther in law's acrylic doesnot lift but falls off i make 100% sure my prep is done i cant understand what im doing wrong im practising on her,my daughter and my own nails but her is giving me a headache. Whats your advice😢
samcraftyhands my daughter has the same issue. So here's how i fixed it. 1st, soak the nails in pure acetone for 5-15 minutes. Depending on her nails....my daughter's nail can't hold acrylic for nothing, so we had to soak hers for 15minutes, just to make sure they're good n dehydrated. Her nails will produce it's natural oil rather quickly, after being etched n prepped. So yea,15 minute soak worked. Then, i use No Lift brand of primer, monomer and powder. That works for her. Hope that helps hun :)
What would I do if A client comes in with a lifted nail , and a painful broken natural nail underneath ? Tried soaking it to remove a majority of acrylic but I couldnt even file it with my e file , even a gentle touch was hurting her pls HELP! 😫
I really do like a lot of your videos and you are great at teaching techniques but could you please refrain from saying things like you "came up with a new style" of something or you're "the first to do" something when its clear to anyone who watches other videos on RUclips that this just isn't true. This is a safety bit and while it may be the safety bit that your company makes it is one of hundreds of different safety bits out there with the smooth rounded top and they have been around awhile. It's like using the glue on tips as a form just like dual forms work and stating that you just invented that method. I'm not trying too be rude OR mean it's just very very frustrating to me and apparently others who also commented on the tip as a form video that you can't just say "our bit " instead of "the bit that I invented" or "how to use tips like dual forms" instead of "this brand new method I just came up with". It just doesn't help people to trust you if you claim things that aren't so and as a business owner and educator you need people to trust you and believe everything that you claim so its not good for you when you say things that just aren't correct . I Hope that you can see what I mean and that you make sure and adjust your statements from now on to reflect the exact nature of your videos and their content and make sure you include things you used in a slightly different manner than they were intended but that they were designed, invented, or created by someone else and/ or awhile ago. Thank you so much.
Heather W. I get where your coming from Heather..but I think you may have misunderstood our message. Young Nails doesn’t claim that they came up with using tips to form out, just that it’s a new technique we are doing with our product that we thought would be helpful to people who struggle with sculpting. As far as the Safety Bit Young Nails actually does have the patent on it. Hope that helps.
Tracey Reierson ok..i get that.. but I'm not the only person who misunderstood the message because it was definitely not portrayed as a "new idea for our product" it was portrayed as a brand new idea in the nail world that no one has thought of before and he spent months working out how to do it and if he meant anything different than that then why didn't he even mention the fact that dual forms exist so this is just like that only slightly different and doesn't require the buying of forms? Why didn't he compare and contrast ? No , not buying that he wasn't trying to say this was his brand new idea and I actually really liked you guys before you just insulted our intelligence by trying to say he meant this was just a new technique for "his product". If you make a mistake when you say something is your idea, out of excitement for a new to you technique or just because you are proud of the way you do something yourself, and people call you on it, just admit it. Dont make it worse by trying to say you meant something you didn't. We aren't that simple. Here's an example of that... you are completely right about the safety bit it was your creation and you do hold the patent. Bravo for that creation.. it has given so many people the confidence to use an e file. See how that works? I am not unwilling to admit when I said something incorrect. And trying to say he simply meant that was a brand new idea for only his product is incorrect and you know it. You can't do that on RUclips. You guys know that. We pay better attention than that. He completely tried to own that idea and should just admit the mistake. Like I did.
Heather W. Are you always this upset over nothing? Tbh I never thought to use dual forms the way they do. So to me, young nails did invent a technique :/ also, maybe do some research before making claims that a company didn't invent products when they have a patent on it. Make sure your clients are using cuticle oil on a regular basis (at least once/twice daily) to help keep the nails hydrated and flexible.

Quick question.. have ya'll ever used a product called Line Be Gone? (I'm pretty sure that's the correct name) it's in a small brown bottle. I thought it was just something similar to acetone, does it say the ingredients?
I was here!
What is the process if the nail is lifting from the free edge? Does the whole nail now have to be soaked off?
That is one way to do it or you can use your e-file to remove the lifting and reapply
