I'm not sure if anyone notices this. But they were able to animate Scott ricocheting his Optic Blast to where Bastion was suppose to dodge. A nice touch of detail with how good Scott is with Geometry.

He also used his blasts to maneuver himself too like he did in this first episode. Cyclops tactician finally get displayed.
Great to see Cyclops standing his ground on his own against bastion.

This whole sequence is a riot of colour and sound and emotion, and it’s fantastic for it!

@@kamishin7135 In the comics Emma Frost says that she is Omega cuz she can detonate matter in a subatomic level, meaning that she can throw atomic bombs whenever she wants. Also she can insert super small bombs into other people's body and make them explode from the inside. I will assume she knows this but she doesnt want to tap into that potential cuz of morals.

Jubilee always had a talent for destroying electronics. The first time they ever show her use her powers in the original show, she fries an arcade machine. She also destroys a VCR and fries a door panel.
I loved the music while they were fighting Bastion. I can’t explain it, but it had that retro and futuristic X-Men theme song. Very clever.
I’ve gotta hear it in a video game.

To be fair Hickman always wrote Krakoa with an undertone of it being wrong and compromising too much of Xavier's dream. The problem was that other writers liked Krakoa TOO MUCH. Hickman was going to nuke Krakoa not even half way into his original plans.

Showcasing the best stuff from the past and the some absolutely killer new stuff. Who else remembers playing with cyclops in videogames and doing that blast he doesn't against bastion. I swear he yells the same such a sick moment. Also when jubs hits bastion and blows half his face off good lord like let's goooooooo. This whole series was an absolute grand slam. 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
1:19 I missed it the first time watching the fight. Jubilee learned the Destructo-Disc move from Abscissa.
Same. So cool that episode had such a big pay off. Jubes was actually the tactile MVP by taking out his wings and hitting the final big blow.
I didn’t know until recently that Scott is actually a more skilled fighter than Wolverine. He’s dog walked him in the comics multiple times, and Wolverine has never beaten him.
Probably because Scott's spatial awareness and mastery of geometry makes him a living embodiment of Tai Chi on steroids. My man knows all the angles. He was a day 1 Danger Room resident.
People were sleeping on Cyclops for years, but the comic folk had the "if you know, you know" scoop on him.
Mostly because sadly people jump on more to the times writers give him crappy characterization so are less willing to give him any kind of kudos. Even versions of him like this which are better written.
Because Scott has a strong body that resist good amount of damage and pain but he doesnt have healing factor if he doesnt fight well he dies.

The fight scene is awesome either way, but I wish Cyclops put on his outfit from the earlier episodes. I kinda like it more than the og outfit.

well that was the start, he tried to play the PR game at first, but JJ did his research and found that Bastion was a nothing person, AKA he didn't exist beyond when he showed up, so Bastion went mask off and this ruined his plan.

@@MbisonBalrog lol that is so reductive and wrong. NO Bation is an evolved Human that has been genetically altered and merged with the techno-organic nanotechnology. He has Techno-kenesis. And honestly he is something very unique in fiction. The closest thing we have is a cybrog but even that is not good enough, because cyborgs are not born, but he was. He is a merger of human and tech, not a true mutant, but rather a forced (via technology) mutate. (or artificial mutant like Deadpool, Spiderman, Captain America etc.
He is the future as they say... so advanced we technically don't have a good word to describe him.
I realize that this is a small complaint in the grand scheme of things, but why does this show have Cyclops touching his visor to shoot his optic blasts. He didn't have to in the comics or the original TAS. He cotrolled them through a mechanism in his gloves.
Now, I have only seen 2 conplete episodes, the first 2. The rest is clips, but he seems to touch the side of the visor everyime I've seen him use his powers.
He wasn't touching it at all during the beam clash here. He also never touches it during the episode 1 landing scene or the episode 7 fight against Trask. He switches back and forth when it's convenient.

@@haydenblazier6751 I looked again at the Bastion fight last episode. You are right, he doesn't touch it when he goes full blast with the comment about his family. Still, it's way more touching it in that fight.
Again, it's a minor quibble. If I like the way they characterize Scott they can have him touch the visor every time he uses his powers. For me, characterization trumps all else.
