FG pushes too hard for shock comedy, the scabrous dialogue sounds forced and blood and gore doesn't always guarantee laughter. That and their Star Wars spoofs (those FG specials are favourites among the show's haters). These are just my opinion including that I feel American Dad is ten times better. Doesn't mean I'm right.
