Organ and pipes sound fantastic together. Uilleann pipes are almost like a miniature organ anyway. The instruments are distant cousins from long ago, so to hear them being played together by young men is wonderfully magical. Thank you lads, that was more than brilliant
At the third Sunday of Epìphany 2020, for me, this is utterly S+U+P+E+R+N+A+T+U+R+A+L !!! Tadhg and Colm brought the glorious music of our beloved Turlough O'Carolan to dazzling LIFE! ... Oh, My God, such MAGNIFICENCE! ... It makes me weep; I see the green misty mountains and all the Beauty of Ireland that blind Turlough was able to magically make so visible; even more than for folk with two healthy eyes!
You do not have to believe me at all, but for me Tadhg, towards the end, quite unknowingly, strikes harmonies with Colm; which both of them strike, which are chords beyond the norm; and it breaks me in two pieces and my heart into a million, and anyone's with ears to hear, who has truly learned to listen! - These two can show us perfectly how notes can fight and blend; and take us beyond the stars, to heavens we never ever dreamt about!
OK, you needn't believe me; I can hear different harmonies coming to the fore every time I listen again to them!. Just WHAT have these two lads got in their power?
The main similarity between the organ and the uilleann pipes is that you need at least one extra limb to play either of them properly..... Irish music, and Irish culture generally, are in good hands it seems. And very talented hands too!!
I'm sorry to say that my only contribution is to listen. When it comes to creating our music "bímse ar dímhaoin mar lúidín an phíobaire" - 'I'm as idle as the pinkie of the piper.'
This is stunningly brilliant, a deep long ago sweet sad sound on the uilleann pipes perfectly matched with the playing of the organ, really great playing Joe and David. If I had my life to live all over again i would learn to play the uilleann pipes but I am as old as the Sun
Lovely job lads! Reminds me of Planxty (I grew up with the black album being played a lot) although I don't think they played this particular one of Carolan's
Have ye heard Liam Ó'Flynn's first solo album (1988) -- he does a cover of 'The Faery Queen' with harpsichord. (If not it's here on YT channel 'Irish Folk & Trad'). At first I thought it was O'Carolan as well, but by Purcell from roughly the same time
Heaven sent to me tonight. Beautiful merging. 💚💚
I,m a lifelong accordionist aged 70. This is lovely, and good to learn from young people. I,ll give it a go on the box. Thanks.
.
This young man on the pipes has a gift sent from god. Unreal 👌👌👌
So good, and great to see a couple of youngsters playing difficult instruments so well..

TÁIM!
Irish composed and Irish performed by two talented Irish guys nothing to do with either Scotland or bag pipes!!!!.
The lad is literally playing Irish bagpipes, and doing a fine job, too. I know they’re Uillean pipes, but those are still a type of bagpipes.
Fabulous..
Well done!
Excellent53
Wow that Bagpipe sounds like the Chicken on our Farm Singing, Great Bag Piping Mr Scotman!!!! ... Love It.
Class
Thumbs up...and compared to you I'm "all thumbs", so that's a lot of ups!
Good on ypu!
"Ar díomhaoin mar lúidín an phíobaire." (Idle like the small finger of the piper.)
E BRAVI.
why don't they play this type of music In the Baptist or Presbyterian churches??
Who says they don't ?
We have Presbyterians born and raised in IRELAND. GET UP AND DANCE!
Admiration is not even close to what these buachailli inspire.
Like pipes, like organ...not liking this combo...sorry
To the three 👎, get a life or join a club 👿
I have one word for this piece "BEAUTIFUL"!!!!!
Best version on RUclips. Thank you
Wonderfully moving rendition of O' Carolan's Concerto, Beautifully played gents.👌
Really good Colm. Organ works well with pipes.
Very very beautiful, congratulations from France 🇫🇷

Good, keep these guys together so the fiddles and mandolins don't get drowned out 😅
They are SUPERNATURAL!!!!!!
Awesome lads. Gave me chills.
