Was driving this morning to church and this song came on, so I turned it up like I've done a hundred times before, but this time I actually listened to the lyrics. OMG! When he's talking about the man on the radio filling his head with useless information, and the man on the TV talking about getting shirts white, I'm thinking, this song is just as relevant as it was when it was written, maybe even more so. He can't get no satisfaction because our whole society revolves around people not being satisfied with what they have. Everyone has something better. You need X product in order to be satisified. In its way, it's kind of Buddhist in its thinking. Buddha pointed out that the number one reason people are unhappy is because they crave things they can't have. "I can't get no satisfaction," Jagger sings, and Buddha says, "You're right. You're not supposed to have satisfaction unless you renounce this whole system." Yup, a church-going Buddhist, that's what I am.
