Always enjoy your open water rowing. I just wish my back would let me participate, but at age 77, I was forced to retire (hurts my back putting the boat in the water and taking it out).
Thank you for another fun, positive, inspiring video. Your videos make me want to try rowing in the washing machine! There's only so many decades of rowing in flat water regattas that one can do before wanting another challenge - not that those sprints and head races get any less challenging, but variation is a key to motivation. BTW I liked seeing you row in your Yamsquad hoodie: I gave my size medium Yamsquad hoodie to my 6'3" son and it fit him perfectly, loose enough that he could wear a T-shirt under it but not so baggy that he couldn't have rowed in it if he was a rower.
It can be enjoyable! If you’re looking for a challenge for sure try it out. Similar enough to get to grips relatively quickly but different enough that it’s not easy! That’s great to hear! Glad he likes it!
Hey cam, I was watching one of your videos, dealing with injury" and noticed the seat pad but I can't seem to find them online, I can find the normal ones but not any angled ones, do u remember the make or anything. I know it's a long shot. Thanks
Bean a while since I would have made that video. I believe that seat pad was a repurposed swimming float. I would only recommend using that if you are shaped a certain way, even then, not very necessary!
Thanks for posting. I’m a daily coastal rower in the Caribbean Sea . If I could get a team together I would participate. As an observation, when you were rounding the marks your turning radius is huge on the exit. Would it be fast to hit the brakes and swing the bow around and then power up? I would think you could be up to full power before the wide exiting boat finished . So you charter the boats or bring your own?
They’re not supposed to be “in line”. It is up to you and your boat where you start and when - as long as not in front of the line. I recommend watching sailing races to get the gist of it!
There were some clashes but it’s of everybody’s interest not to collide and slow people down. Like I said, it’s up to you and your boat where you start and when - as long as it’s not in front of the line. I recommend watching sailing races to get the gist of it!

That’s why you need people to do it for you!

Looks great fun, well done 👍 against a top class field. It must be quite challenging when one wave can make a big difference.
Rubbing noses with the wealthy and famous, very nice, you guys did well out there. Keep up the excellent work.
Great work all around!

Yes we didn’t have a good turn.
For a lot of coastal races the boats are provided/rented
why did You row with the Tunisian sculls Cam?
Rented blades
Cam forgetting he’s now a world champ too
This is true
😎
🕶🕶
Seems like the starts were not exactly fair. Chaos and boats not in line.

@@CameronBuchan The overhead view in the live stream seemed to show some dangerous positioning.
