Thank you for mentioning the compression issues with the Mill Creek set. I received mine yesterday from Best Buy. I did not want to pay the higher price for the import set. I think it's a good deal for the money even though it's all on 10 discs. The saddest thing of all must be realizing what happened to Jonathan Brandis. Sad he did not seek out help for his depression.
Wow - had no idea he had died of suicide. Such a shame.
Help with what? How does seeking "help" convince a person to not wish to end their life? If the person can't see a reason to live, then how will he see it in the eyes of a complete stranger?

Great review. I maybe saw some of this when it was on TV? I'm glad you announced that it is region free. I love that about your channel. If I were to buy it, based on this review, I would get the Millcreek one.

Thanks for the review 👍 I take it mill creek is the one that decides on the compression and how many episodes on each disc? You should get them to do a interview to discuss there thought process and how it impacts how much they need to charge for the release
Yes, each company that works on each tv series Blu Ray release decides on their own, if they are going to work on remastering the content that’s given them from the studios or if they are going to just compress the content down & shove it on as few discs as possible to increase their revenue on each set sold. So yes when a TV series is compressed down to far it causes bad compression issues in the image & banding to appear!
So far Elephant Films has been one of the most consistent companies doing a good job remastering & releasing Blu Rays of older TV series!
just picked it up on sale on amazon for $33
This was helpful as I’ve imported this set, buck rogers and a few others. I always get frustrated when I do an import and then it finally shows up here I.e. Jetson’s the Movie. This gives me more peace with owning the import Seaquest but I will snag the Mill creek eventually for the bonuses.
When I buy something like an old cartoon series on DVD, I always check the disc count. As I generally try to get the first release, unless there were errors in the set like with G1 Transformers. As I find the re-releases, they tend to cram more episodes on each disc. Though, it's entirely possible that the re-releases used a larger DVD size like dual layer or something. It's one of those deals where you'd have to just buy it and put it in the computer to see what the disc size is. But I generally just stick with the first release as they tend to spread the episodes out over more discs.
I enjoy SeaQuest and grew up on it. However, it's not worth $130. I'll take the $50 set for a slight visual upgrade to enjoy some nostalgia

Is Peacock using the HD masters? I wonder how the compression is via streaming on Peacock vs the Mill Creek Blu-Ray?
I have a question for you: I bought this set, but one episode will not play. Video starts to freak out and buffer for a little bit, then it just stops playing. I put it into my computer, and can't read it there either. What do you do in this situation? Contact Mill Creek somehow? I'm not sure if they replace discs or the whole set either...
What version of the pilot do you get? the movie or the 2 parter? Same with daggers?
The pilot and Daggers are single episodes on the discs, even though they are 2-parters.
This just suggest for your channel, can tv/classic movies once month that are coming out in physical media. Like review and this show. Only did not like about show is last season.
The both have the wrong seaQuest logo/font.
Hi there, today I cleaned one of my PS4 disks with alcohol and water , and some part of the label was removed. 😥 Can it still be used on my PS4?

I think you should do the comparison shots in full screen. Maybe split it, where the left side of the image is whatever Blu-Ray, and then the right side of the image is whatever blu-ray. When you have the images real tiny, I can't really see any difference.
🤗WELCOME, You must be new to my RUclips Channel because over the last 4-5 years that I have been exclusively creating these videos I have shared & explained dozens of times that my content is created specifically to be watched on a TV - 4K TV or bigger IPad / computer monitor. These videos have never been created or ever intended to be watched on your small phone screen, that’s also why all of these videos are filmed in full 4K! Also your not going to see the differences on a phone or small tablet no matter the size of the screenshots I include because those devices can’t display 4K RUclips videos properly without horrible compression due to the RUclips apps compression algorithms! But there’s a lot more involved then just that too, but I simply don’t have the time to write a book about all the technology & things affecting phones screens lol!!! 🤣
So to sum this up, my content is created exclusively for a purpose & a specific reason & I won’t be changing how these videos are created, each video takes days upon days of hard work for me to create & the technology & software has taken me over 5 years to work with & perfect to create each of these exclusive comparison review videos!👍
