    Glass in NX8 and ATACR are EPIC. Japan has some of if not the best glass out there.

    Thank you. A very informative discussion of some things I've wondered about.

    ATACR's are available in F2 (SFP) models also.

    I have an SHV and an NXS, and both are great. Honestly I cannot see a difference in glass quality between the two. I am sure the difference is there, but it sure isn't obvious. I wish I could get another SHV for a third rifle, but as with so many other thing 'supply chain problems' have meant that good quality scopes are scarce as hen's teeth here.

    Can I ask you what is the bipod that is seen in the video ( on the table)? On your right hand when you're sitting. Thank you for your answer.

    Probably a silly question.
    Does the NF loose its water resistance when the windage cap is off?

    Hello, can anyone please tell me what the closest focus distance is for the nxs 8-32x56

    NF - NX8 2.5-20X, I was considering it but as a US Army veteran, NF does offer a veteran's LEO discount, but Leupold offer a veteran's LEO discount too at 40% where NF is about 20% let's dollars for a quality optics is better. Leupold Mark5 3.6-18x is top but also on the list is Tract Toric 4-20x50mm30mm

      How much did you end up giving for the leupold 3.6-18 ? I can get le discount but I’m not signed up

      If you look at the guidelines, your not supposed to discuss nightforces discounts, that's how these programs get removed.

      Yeah but what your not realizing Leupold jacks the price to msrp vs night force does it at retail. Price that mark V in a store and your discount. You’re not saving as much as you think. Plus you aren’t suppose to be blasting that info.

    i hate how the whole rear bell turns when zooming in; especially for models that come with flip-up caps. Seems so annoying.

      Yes I was unaware of this until this video and was disappointed

      Flip up caps are removable and they also twist around so you can position them where you want.
      The one piece rear bell was designed for military use. It’s more robust and a more water proof design ( less moving parts. )

    Is the glass the same between the shv and nxs

    • @ryancoffee339
      @ryancoffee339 11 месяцев назад +1

      yes

    • @debsmith7861
      @debsmith7861 10 месяцев назад +1

      Absolutely. Nightforce reps corroborate this fact. There are a ton of fake experts on 24hourcampfire, rockslide, snipershide, etc who just SWEAR the NXS has far superior glass. Bull sh_t. It's exactly the same. The differences between the 2 lines are largely based on production mechanisms and reinforcements which make the NXS a tad more rugged. Zero stop vs. Zero set? Big freaking deal. When you factor in the ffp element of the f1, it's an easy choice for anyone who isn't in the military, deployed during wartime.
      Many NXS owners are conceited if not a bit blind, convinced their scopes are wayyyy better. Not.

      @@debsmith7861I just treated myself to a NXS 2.5-10x42 for my 38th b'day. I went with the NXS due to it bruh a bit lighter than the SHV, having parallax adjustment, exposed turrets (I don't like anything capped...except maybe windage), and being a bit more rugged.

    NF has lost it way. They no doubt are delivering what the market wants but thing is the market is generally ignorant of the sort of features that will best support recognition for where the rifle is pointed. It seems the market thus accepts notions of what is best from RUclips “experts”. For example these experts suggest not mixing mil reticle with MOA dials, and now you can no longer buy a NF scope with mil scaled reticle and MOA dials, which is a big mistake, since this configuration supports both speed and accuracy in ranging, bullet drop compensation, wind favors, zeroing, and holds. So, the market is marched instead to mil/mil, conductive to fast but imprecise holds, or MOA/MOA, conductive to slow but precise dialing. Neither is a best solution, except for shooters who will do nothing more than zero the scope to a suggested distance. These folks will never consider hold offs, wind favors, or bullet drop compensation needs when the target appears at a distance other than the zeroed one because the math formulas,mil or MOA, are beyond their interest or grasp. At any rate, seems to me the NXS 3.5-15x50 in MOA is today’s best scope for accommodation of divergent targets/distances, as well as value pricing. I have one and it is often moved around from a match conditioned AR used in short to mid range scenarios to a Rifle used mostly in Long-Range outings. No handicap in any scenario so far but if I could get a mil scaled reticle the scope would better satisfy aiming needs. I contacted NF about this and they say they cannot replace the reticle. That is not true, they can but won’t.
