And in November 2022 he wrote on Truth Social that it would be acceptable to terminate the Constitution in order to become President again. Fortunately Cruz and other Republicans chastised him and reiterated how unacceptable, how unAmerican, how unpatriotic, that viewpoint is.

Of course it has to be stopped as round one is any goon in state authority can remove a candidate, any state court can, but it has no natural basis to stop there where any of the 5000 counties courts in the country can also make such a ruling. Elections would then have say 500 counties issuing rulings to stop candidates, litigation would take up to the statutory 20 years to go to trial, and so there would just be no more elections.
No different than the last Martyr who tried to attack the US Capitol building in Sept 2001.
