If I am the pig and I pass the other two boats and they are right on my tail, should I try to stop them from passing me, or should I keep my course? I haven’t team races before but I really wanna try it. I know that a lot of times people will get so close to your stern that you can’t tack without hitting them. How should I prevent it or escape them?

Hey, thanks for your question! If you are doing the drill, and the pig passes the other boats, the "pig" is now the "1" and the teams reset. Now the boat in second becomes the pig, and you become teammates with the boat in the "3" or in last.
If someone is on your hip and "pinning" you as you described, it's a good idea to sail a little closer to the wind than you otherwise would to "pinch them off" and force them to tack away first.
