This is actually a communication exercise. Used in IIMs 4 decades ago. We saw it in 16mm film projector on 1975!. The class is shown the movie. 5 students are chosen to be outside. A student who has watched this is chosen to narrate to the one who has not seen. He in turn to another. Till the 5th man is told the story and scenes. At the end of the session of relayed story telling, there is distortion. Both the details and the philosophy needs to be understood to effectively understand and convey effectively. The key lesson is " I need your relationship, but the exchange must be equal"
I thought they were just moving the chair with strings. Until I realized it's stop motion. The dedication this took has probably been matched by very few people.
This is one of the greatest animations (or pixellations) by one of the world's greatest animators! What a treat to have this available in 1080p high definition. Many thanks to all the NFB for making this available and for taking such good care of Norman's films. I never tire of this film, and its wonderful soundtrack - it's an absolute joy.
That's not bollywood music! It is maestro Ravi shankar playing sitar, and Chatur Lal playing tabla. Shankar is the foremost exponent of Indian classical music (the Hindustani or North Indian variety). Beatles were amongst his many students, if that would get the message across faster!
But yes, it is true that much of bollywood music *was* sitar and tabla may be 40 years back. In general, classical or "raga-based" music gives that feel. Nowadays Bollywood music is more western, more pop.

It appears to make use of both depending on the movement, if you look closely at 9:13, you can see the attached strings.
that chair is a tsundere
A clear illustration from my school age, when I had to sit down to do my homework this always happened

I like the part with the chair
Saw this in animation class in 2012 -- so glad I could find it to share.
I first watched this in high school circa 1967.
My friend and I looked up "chairy chair" on RUclips 6 years ago and this was the first video that popped up. It will forever be in our memories...
