My grandparents are buried in Blakely. They lived in Blakely in a big old house. They didn't have ac or heat. They had old fireplaces for heat. They did have indoor plumbing, but we would use a "slop" at night if we had to tinkle. During the winter when you went to bed at night, you didn't move because with 3 or more quilts you were pretty much weighted down. Those quilts were so warm though. I sure miss those days!❤
You need a Disco Cooker, works off Propane. To clean the pan you use Cooking Oil, Pickling Salt and Foil. It's Awesome we use it in the yard, camping what ever. You can cook pretty much anything in it. They have RUclips videos to show you how to use it 🙏💕
it is so nice to see you sneak in the “selfie” at least no photo bombs! by any one or thing! the overlaps were great showing the past and present at the old Byrd farm! it is nice to finally after years to get your “chicken dinner” from that restaurant. I am in western NY there are not any really good places for southern chicken. we have hot wing places, that is about it except for a few Mexican restaurants. hope all is well, take care and have a great one!
Ha! Ha! Thank you! I appreciate it. I love finding the older photos that I shot of the place. Yes! Big Chic is the best! I am sorry for you that they don't have any good Southern Fried Chicken places there. All is well here. I hope the same for you too.
I'm getting hungry listening to you guys talk about food. Robert, when those daffodils bloom, they'll be so pretty. Now where can I get catfish here in socal? Listening to you three chew the fat was fun. Thanks, Walter.
Great to see you all together! Guessing there wasn’t much loot 😆 given from the scrapyard for Robert. He didn’t seem to happy on this visit he looked uneasy anywho Overall great Video Walter!
One of our favorite places is Mac's Steak N The Rough. Steak N The Rough with Fries, Gravy and Roll with a huge Green Onion. Plus Toquito Twosome with Guacamole, Onion Rings made fresh. A Fresh Limeade 🙏💕
I really liked the part where you superimposed old photos on the current farm. I also enjoyed where you did a walk around to see what the farm looks like today. Thank you Walter.
We love this video, all our favorites included. Uncle Ken, Robert, The Old Byrd Farm, and our favorite recorder of history, past and present!Thank you Walter for another winner.😀
Nice to see Uncle Ken and some of your photos of the Old Byrd Farm of the past Walter thank you for these trips down memory lane Love to Uncle Ken glad he enjoyed his cat fish xxx
👍👍👍👍👍 "Big Chicken is open" with a big grin and aaalllllll by yourself. Hahahahaha That farm means a lot to you and Ken. Your pictures show that farm was a big part of your lives.
I still can't believe he dumped all that clay soil onto the field road. I was cringing as he was doing it. And I've said this dozens of times- I wish he would either say the date at the beginning of each video, or put it on screen in editing. I've wished that from the very beginning. So Robert went and bought another old car. Crazy. But Corvairs are cool. Well that was a fun video. Thanks, Barry
Very good video! Lots of interesting stuff and stories. Oh my stars, I live in a rural part of Virginia where everything is closed on Sunday, because everyone respects the Sabbath, but then most businesses stay closed on Monday, also! So frustrating. Lol. Sigh. Things start opening up by Tuesday or Wednesday. I need to move 😂
I heard Robert talking about rats damaging his 57 Chevy. I had a terrible rat problem in my chicken house. There were dozens and when I would go out to feed my chickens the rats got friendly and didn't run away. It was creepy and I didn't want pet rats. We didn't want to use poison and got a rat terrier puppy. She was amazing and she killed the rats and terrorized them. They left my chicken house and haven't come back. My dog passed away 3 years ago and still haven't seen any rats. Just a thought since Robert has rats around the farm.
Walter, this was a beautiful video of the farm. The pictures were awesome to see what it used to be like. Don't worry about guineas. They are hard to control and have minds of their own. Best wishes to Uncle Ken, and it is so nice of you to take him to his appointments. Could you tell us the family tree? I am sure it is somewhere in yours and Robert's RUclips videos, but I am still unclear.
Thank you, Margaret! Those guineas definitely have minds of their own! Ken is Brian's (Down The Road With Brian Mallard) and my uncle. Ken is Mom's baby brother. Robert is Brian's and my nephew.
Thank you for clearing that up. Robert's Mother is your sister? I love your family is so close. I try to stay close to my cousins in Arkansas, but we moved away from the farm when I was 9 and I ended up in Illinois when I was 17, went to college, got married and have lived all over Illinois. When I was younger, I kept wanting to move back South, but now I have children and grandchildren and my mini farm. I love the videos. I was interested at first in the history and then got hooked on the house preservation. Then I found out my 3rd great grandfather Reuben J. Crews, lived in Ellerslie. I was amazed and love seeing where my ancestors lived. My best to you and your family. Uncle Ken is in my thoughts and prayers.
Hey y'all. At least it wasn't raining which actually made the visit that much nicer. Funny how u couldn't figure out what was where since Robbie has changed the landscape so much here lately. Luv that .. Manchester by day & Winchester by night ..LOL. Y'all b safe & well .. Peace ☮️❣️😊
The Old Byrd farm should hired out for horror movies. Those old dresses hanging around the overgrown wisteria gives me the creeps. Perfect setting for a scary movie.
It's obvious that you guys have a deep love for one another At the time you took the pictures of cowboy Brian was your mom living at the old Byrd farm you mentioned bringing her back after the car was hit. When did she acquire.the old Byrd farm. You must have been very young when you got into photography. It appears Brian and Robert also love photography. So many questions you need to write a book. Thanks so much for sharing your life.
Mom was living there then. Brian was 17. I was about 24 when I began to regularly use a camera. Brian has a recent intense interest in still photography. Robert is more interested in video photography.
Maybe Walter you can tell us why the clothes are hanging all round the farm?? Another great video!! Uncle Ken is looking well. Maybe you could organise him a haircut…..it’s getting very long!! Enjoy your catfish!
I was wondering why the dress was on the chicken coop and then this one. Kind of a creepy factory going on. 😄 My only guess is to scare away predators. Poor Robert, he looked plum tuckered out.
Was going to ask Walter. Did u see Jerry? Haven’t heard Robert speak of him or show him to us I’d like a whole video on the chickens roosters turkey would be fun to watch them
Big Chick is open huh lol...poor Robert looked really tired. I bet Uncle Ken can fry up some mean fish. I dont salt my fish either, I cant remember the mix I buy for when I fry up a mess.
Why is that dress hanging at the chicken coop? I wondered about it while you were hauling off scrap iron and metal. Then you went walking and there is another dress.
Glad you all enjoyed your chicken 🐔 and your fish😅❤
It was delicious!

You're welcome, Sandra. He is my favorite Uncle. We shared our childhoods together, and that really stays with me.
Enjoyed thanks for sharing 😊
Love seeing the pictures of how things used to look.
It's sad, making the comparison.
Glad you got your chicken!! 😂😂😂
Great video, Walter!! Your family is so close, and it warms my heart how you help Ken! 🙏
Thank you so much. Yes, we love Ken!
What a nice time at the Old Byrd Farm. Cars, mud, birds, catching up with Robert, food...and a Hello Kitty sticker. Great stuff! Thanks Walter 💕
Ha! Ha! Ha! You're welcome!
I agree 👍 💯

You're welcome, Pamela! I was Blessed to get Ken back there.
Those stills are awesome, really fills out the history of the farm.

Yes. It definitely has been a big part of our lives, and many 'Ken Tapes' we're recorded there.
Oh Walter, what a soulful, deep video this is.
Thank you so much, Kaye.

What a troop!---Thanx for showing the tree canopy, Robert doesn't, can't imagine why! Waddya suppose it'll look like this spring!
You're welcome, Alana! It's going to go wild in the Spring!
You all are sweet men!
Ha! Thank you, Deanna!
Walter good times for sure with Ken and Robert down on the farm stay safe guys.
Thank you, Larry!
Great pics of the cowboy. LOL. Still a lot of vines on the farm. Wonder what it will look like in the spring when they bloom again?
Thank you! Those vines are a nightmare. They'll come alive in the Spring.
Hello Walt and Uncle ken
Hello Andrea!
You look tired Robert. The Farm is a lot of work, you are doing very well. 👍👍😊😎❤️
High dollar eggs walking around there at the Bird Farm. Walter. Thanks from. Sc.
Sure enough! Thank you!

Thank you. I'll mention that to him. We had a rat dog there years ago. Between him and the cats the rats were wiped out for many years.

You've got that right!
@Cici Kids - I HOPE they are scary. They are to keep the Buzzards and other predatory birds away from the chickens. Robert said that a year ago.
All good deed deserves rewards. I hope the chicken was good.
It was!
They have a big chick in barnwell, Aiken and bamburg, sc
Aloha 🌺🥰

The dress on the chicken coop is from a previous vid that Robert did while exploring a abandoned house.
It’s a secret
Robert looks wiped out! Nice video
I was so beat this day.
I was wondering why the dress was on the chicken coop and then this one. Kind of a creepy factory going on. 😄 My only guess is to scare away predators. Poor Robert, he looked plum tuckered out.
It's in case Pig Man needs a date.
@@WalterMallardPhotography 🤣😂
Uncle Ken looks good. He needs a job on the bryd farm..
He does; both.
Was going to ask Walter. Did u see Jerry? Haven’t heard Robert speak of him or show him to us

Yeah! I think Big Chick used to be closed on Mondays.
Ken sure enjoyed his fish.
I have a Fish Fry mixture I plan to use.
@@WalterMallardPhotography I love fried fish especially crappie and its a shame you have to fish for it. 😁
Red clay.
👍🇺🇸
Why is that dress hanging at the chicken coop? I wondered about it while you were hauling off scrap iron and metal. Then you went walking and there is another dress.
Hi Walter! You mentioned that Ken was looking tall. Do you happen to know just how tall he is?
According to his MySpace Bio years ago, he was 6ft 12.
Y’all are so Cool!
I wanna some big chick!
It's the Best Ever!
Robert was not very friendly
I’m sure anyone would come across as not very friendly after loading a literal ton of scrap metal 🤷♂️
Robert wasn’t to talkative. Looked like he needed to go to sleep
He did need a nap!
Tell uncle Ken I will share some of my weight with him. He is so skinny. I have a lot to give. Ha! Ha! Ha!
Can you explain how yall are all related?
Ken is my Uncle. My Mom was Ken's older sister. Brian Mallard is my brother. Robert is Brian's and my nephew.
