    Windows and mirrors are tough ones for suction cups. Not only does the glass have to be clean, but so does the suction cup. Also, any glass that is subject to atmospheric conditions (heat & cold), suction may be an issue. Plus, the plastic-whatever it is of the suction cup has to be good quality, which you indicated you have tried several different ones. My recommendation as a video guy, who has stopped using suction mounts, is to use the GoPro sticky mount or directly screwing a mount into the column. Use a swing arm or friction arm to move the GoPro where you want it.
    BTW, video editing has stepped it up a notch. Props!

    • @bluemaxsix
      @bluemaxsix  10 месяцев назад +3

      Thanks so much. Great feedback. I did put GoPro sticky mounts in 2 places - forward view over the nose and overhead in the cockpit. Felt super guilty about those in the jet but I agree, it seemed to be the best bet. I'll keep exploring and hope to make a minimum impact on my plane. Thanks for your words on the editing...it's SO MUCH harder than I had anticipated. I thought that certainly, it had to be intuitive. Nope. I do find a,ot of satisfaction it in and I'm not nearly successful enough to job that part out.
      Keep it coming - I'll take all of the advice I can get.

As a retired person, I'm no longer flying (too expensive for me) however I continue my love of flying on MSFS and the HondaJet (recently improved) is surprisingly close to your jet's system. I'm from Sydney Australia, so I don't expect you to do any flights in my direction any time soon but I have been seriously simming for over 30years and my current setup allows for me to fly in Virtual Reality, which is amazing, as it puts you in the plane and you interact with the avionics etc in the usual manner. I run group flights off the Microsoft Official Forum and the events typically run up to three hours at a time with up to 30 pilots sharing the event with you. Simming is a special place for me at the moment. Pilots offering content like yours helps provide direction to the simming community. We appreciate it.

      No worries, I get a lot of questions but you're the 1st to ask those. Here goes. V1 - Take Off Decision Speed. The maximum speed at which the pilot must the first action to discontinue the take off. VR - Rotation Speed. So even when I'm alone in the cockpit with no cameras (like was earlier today), I still do it exactly the same way...and out loud. I do that to build consistency. I've read through a couple comments section and can't find if you answer this; what would happen if you flare the HondaJet when landing? What is it about the plane that makes it so that you should land it how you do? Thanks!

    • @bluemaxsix
      @bluemaxsix  7 месяцев назад

      Great question. It's more about how the plane (and other high performance jets) is designed. Flaring tends to use-up runway. The HondaJet has a very high performance wing which continues to fly after you touch down. So for landing performance, it's about getting the jet firmly on the runway and then dissapating energy as effeciently as possible.
      When I land at longer runways (8000'or longer) I will is just a it of flare to s,tooth out the touchdown.

    Hi there Blu Max Six just have a weight and balance question I hope you can answer as I can't find an answer anywhere, doing my manual weight and balance calculations for the Honda Jet standard as per the example in the AFM, I have worked out how to calculate % Mac etc but there is one entry that I can't understand where the figures are coming from.
    It's the sample weight and balance line item 19 Minus Taxi / Run up fuel its 100 Pounds of fuel to minus off the ramp weight to give the take-off weight but I'm just not sure where they are getting the arm and moment for the 100 pounds of fuel that's being removed to get to take-off weight, they have -100 pounds fuel with an arm of 288.59 and moment of 288.6. Its driving me nuts trying to understand where these moment and arm figures were derived and how, because I can't see any where how this was derived from the Fuel graphs, thanks for any assistance you may be able to offer.

    • @bluemaxsix
      @bluemaxsix  9 месяцев назад

      Sorry it took me a few days on this, I got to fly this week.
      Wow, good one. To be honest, I do all of my W&B in Foreflight. I also get my %MAC from Foreflight. The later versions of the HJ have Graphical Weight & Balance built into the G3000 so they're able to save a step or 2 in the preflight/programming process. Also, I use 80lbs of fuel for startup/taxi as does everyone else I know so I wonder why that's at 100lbs?
      OK so on to your question. I reached out to the owner of Turbine Aircraft Logistics (FlyHJ.aero)to get the best possible answer. I'll share what I hear back.

    • @bluemaxsix
      @bluemaxsix  9 месяцев назад

      So here's the better and more complete answer from Carson at Turbine Aircraft Logistics
      I understand the confusion surrounding the weight and balance calculations for the HondaJet, especially when it comes to the specific arm and moment values for taxi/run-up fuel. The intricacies arise due to the aircraft's unique fuel tank distribution and the resulting changes in center of gravity (CG) as fuel is burned.
      In many aircraft, the change in moment as fuel is consumed can vary significantly based on the initial fuel load. This is particularly true for the HondaJet because of the different locations of its fuel tanks. The fuselage tank, for instance, has a much larger arm than the carry-through tank. Therefore, burning 100 lbs of taxi fuel will have a different impact on the overall moment and CG, depending on whether that fuel comes from the fuselage, carry-through tank, or wing tanks.
      In their effort to simplify calculations for pilots, Honda provides an average change in the moment for various fuel loadings in a single table. This means that instead of calculating the change in CG for every possible starting fuel weight and burn-off amount, you can refer to this table for an average value.
      The specific figures you mentioned, an arm of 288.59 and a moment of 288.6 for the 100 pounds of taxi/run-up fuel, are likely derived from this averaged data. They may not directly correspond to the exact values from the fuel graphs but are representative values meant to simplify calculations.
      As a quick reminder, the arm is calculated using the formula: Arm = Moment/Weight
