Counterpoint. Thorny path did have use if you upgraded it and had a good amount of potency inflicting moves. It was just the resonance part that was effectively nonexistent due to the sheer lack of lust skills with Sinking IDs prior to Season 4.
With the new Bind EGO, I made a same team but replaced spicebush yi sang with hobo healthcliff, I played around the additional gloom buff it gives for resonance since everyone on the team has gloom skills, and used garden of thorns to apply more gloom buff. Although the buff won't be applied next turn, it give you a one turn burst window to do as much damage.

Sinking has been my go-to team from day one. I’m actually on a team similar to yours, but use Dieci Rodion instead of Molar Ishmael. Gotta love it when half the team is just there to throw hands.
Spice bush Yi sang truly helped me through Fish boss Project peak, please make Maid Ryoshu sinking deluge and better than W corp 🥺 Edit: Not what I expected but I actually really love her kit still ❤️
@@ramadanikurniawan8541 yeah the clash win sinking count really helps maintain count. Like, Greg, if he wins a clash with his S2, he has a net positive of 3 sinking count. Echoes of the Manor also helps sustain it thanks to the 50/50 sinking count
I think it's mostly the new ID's since they have that "On Clash Win inflict Count" that rupture also has which is pretty good These ID's are good for sinking also I was thinking of taking Rodya instead of Ish because of rime but I don't like using EGO too much because of SP
Due to most fights being against humans, stacking sinking does not help your dps and only helps in increasing your chances of winning clashes. This causes the later floors of hardmode to last an eternity due to how spongy the enemies are
As someone who consistently runs Sinking Team to the point I have muscle memory on what to do and not what to do, here it is: For Active Team (in order of deploying) = Spicebush Yi Sang, Dieci Rodion (Uptie IV), Butler Outis (Uptie IV is preferable, but Uptie III is fine), Edgar Family Heir Gregor (Uptie IV if you can), Molar Ishmael (Uptie III is OK, but if you can Uptie IV her), Butler Faust (Uptie IV) Notable EGOs: Rime Shank (Uptie IV), Bygone Days (both Gregor and Yi Sang if you can), Sunshower Outis (Uptie III, if you want more Sinking go Uptie IV it) Notable EGO Gifts for MD runs: Black Sheet Music (Fuse Midwinter Nightmare with Headless Portrait), Thorny Path++, Broken Compass (upgrade if you can, if not thats fine too), Skeletal Crumbs (bro this is basically Fox Plushie but for Sinking), Artistic Sense, Melted Spring (optional, but it does help in keeping clash power), Phantom Pain (extra boost for ST Damage, good for Bloodsteeped Scent), Grey Coat (a nice sustain gift since many Sinking IDs have Gloom IDs. Also boost AoE attacks like Moment's Flower Breeze), Blue Zippo Lighter, Coffee and Cranes (you'd love this gift since you'll lack a lot of Wrath, Envy, and Gluttony skill thanks to uneven Sin resources distribution) Hope this helps!
