NO NO NO! that button is on the neck, it goes on the heel of the neck.

Informative. Would be helpful to not have the camera right behind the drill so we can see the actual point of contact on the neck, but the after photos are a big help.

You mentioned measuring 1 1/4 inch from the binding, are you measuring from the top or bottom of the binding.

I just measured for you. I still have the guitar - Love it! It is 1 1/4 inches from the top of the binding (fretboard) on this model of guitar. Just make sure you re going into the "fat" part of the neck. You know, 1/8" here or there shouldn't matter as long as it looks good to your eye. All the best!

Absolute wrong placement...its to high up the neck and a lot of players would find the button & strap in the way of playing in the upper register. I'm a tech in Canada doing this for a long time.
