I have a feeling that music is a way to express himself without really having a boatload of social interactions. When I was in bands in my 20s, it was really almost like a release valve for the other issues in my life, and Jay (and Jeff, to be honest) seems to be stricken with alot of social anxiety.
I didn’t think Jay was ever gonna shut up! Poor lady couldn’t get a word in edgewise lol! If he had his guitar he would have sang his side of the interview; without it, he’s lost.
This interviewer throws a serious mom-trying-to-be-cool vibe.
more like guy trying to be cool. how hard is it to talk about something you made
I remember that awkward interview.
great band, poor lady
That was painful to watch.
Nathan Reimer I was about to say the same thing. I love son volt, but this is the last band that needed to be featured like this on 📺
I feel so bad for that poor woman, trying to drag sentences out of Jay. I love him, but holy crap he's a hard interview!
He's actually not very nice at all in person
I also don't like it when people don't put any effort into speaking loud enough and not slurring their words together. Also wouldn't hurt to smile.

My thoughts exactly!
why do we expect people who are amazing at stuff to tell us all about it affably? Can't they just be good at what theyre good at????
I love how bad he is at being on tv. He’s like an anti-rock star. Incredible music, incurable allergy to publicity. It’s pure
I’ve met Jay he’s very shy and sweet ❤
two chatty dudes

Hahaha it starts with blue by the jayhawks
@curragh 42 that's fantastic
when an interviewer says "I totally enjoyed it" they are fucking lying.
Amy Scott seems ..insincere 😆 🤣
Wonder if he talks like that in private with friends and family
