I hope Dan is okay, what you all do means the world to me and has saved me from a deep depression over a break up back in November. I cancelled Netflix and this is literally all I watch daily lol. Sending love and healing to all!
We wish you the best in feeling better. Dan's all good - they removed a fatty lump from his head. But sadly I'm still here! hahahaha! Big love man, if it's any help, This Too Shall Pass. Probably the most useful phrase anyone has ever said to me.
I remember when i used to have relationships & breakups. They always seemed to end in such devastating sadness at the time. Little did I know that was just useful preparation for what comes in the remaining 2/3 of ones life. If I were better at playing music, I could have written some very pithy song lyrics about it. And i guess got a teenage girl to mope around mumbling them and sell a billion copies! Oh well, I’m sure someone will have the idea before long...
We all need this crazy endeavor. Its therapeutic. It's part of that medicine that has as its object the cure of many diseases and doubts. TPS, hands down the best show in this electric circus. Thank you Dan and Mick.
Wow - what a show!! So many wonderful fuzz and endless thanks for cranking up the Zonk/MK1 - my my it sounded sweet with that SG! Love that you were able to highlight the impedance interaction with the following buffered delay. Your pedal is true to the originals with higher output impedance and the extra brightness and attack into a buffer. Our latest version of the Zonk/MK1 makes this interaction controllable by lowering the output impedance and adding a trim control to boost or cut the upper highs in your signal - so you can match it to your rig and dial in how bright it gets to taste. Is so much fun - I'll send you one to compare. And you must both come and visit New Zealand - I'll take you fushing with a full barrels of fizz. Cheers and all the best, Tim Cunningham
Its That Pedal Show. Its an episode on fuzz. For just under an hour all is right with the World. Thank you Dan and Mick as always for fantastic sounds, playing and vibes. A beacon of light on a dark winter night. Great.
Thanks for continuing with "Noel's knobs"! I think most of us out here appreciate it to give some context to what you're doing. I love watching you guys play fuzz pedals, they sound fantastic and brutal, but when i play it can sound quieter, flubby and with no definition at all. Noel's knobs showed just how low the volume knobs were set on the MIG50s, so i did the same and set my JTM45 at around 3 and such a revelation! Thanks so much for all you do 😊
The MIGs are pretty loud at that level. They don't get //much// louder after that. A bit, obvs, but moreover just more distorted. And when there's two of em...
@ThatPedalShow I think I just got used to running the JTM45 at higher volume settings (where it does sound really nice but not actually any louder) but then if I added the fuzz it just had nowhere to go.....
What an assault on the senses. All of them absolutely brilliant. Masterclass in getting great sounds out of each and every fuzz...with more in the tank. What a talent you both have.
The Cunningham was the only one that sounded life like. Incredible. When you start playing music and not making gimmicky licks then you know you have something.
Fuzz plus loud driven amp equals happy days. But 16 year old me hated fuzz because tried a bug muff into a clean fender amp. Then I was enlightened by these gentlemen 👌
Outstanding! I really loved the Cunningham and the Jam pedals - super fun with a little extra schwingdiddle and low key graphics. Music to my ears and eyes. Happy Friday and thank you.
Aha, this guy gets it. Yes, the Bass knob is pre gain, you will get thicker fuzz type of tones by maxing it out. Not Fuzz like ToneBender Fuzz but fuzzy sounds. 😊 Anyway, thanks Dan & Mick for the awesome feature! We are very very grateful! ❤
Thank you Dan & Mick ! Love hearing these different flavors of fuzz. "Deader than the ass of a dead thing" is a great Michael aside. Grateful for all you and the TPS crew do for us here on RUclips - John
fuzz videos always remind me of the first time i plugged into a way huge russian pickle i was instantly in love. mick just cant stop making me smile when he plugs into a fuzz just godly tones and seeing dans reactions to mick play is always awesome dont worry dan we both make the same faces lol. best of wishes to you all.
Holy grit the Holy Grit sounds amazing. Really really lovely clean up and incredible fuzzy tones to boot. Even as a man who has found the only fuzz I think I'll ever need, this was a great show. Would love a bit of a history lesson on octafuzz because it's just one of those things that I've never really appreciated and I wonder if it's because I don't understand where or how it came to be.
I’ve been a fan since around 80k subscribers and I have to say it’s awesome seeing this Channel grow so much. That Pedal Show is a weekly watch for me.
I haven't started the video yet, but I'm struck but the beautiful black contrast ratio and clarity of the picture. Looking amazing today! Now... on to the video.
I love hear Dan relax in his playing and just go. It often feels he's thinking too much while he's playing and thinking maybe too much about the audience. I know all guitarists do that to some extent, I just like it when you can tell they sort of let that go.
Had that same SG model, but with a fixed bridge (SG Standard 61). The most friendly guitar I ever had. It played nice with everything I threw at it, amp, pedal, amp setting, just about anything. It was hard to get a bad tone out of it. Since Dan pulled out his SG, I kept thinking, that’s it, it’s the always good tone guitar. Then at the the two of you had a hold my beer moment and almost make me fall off my chair. Finally. Not surprised it had to be an unhealthy about of fuzz pedals all on to push that guitar over the edge. Lol Thanks for the wonderful show and the laugh. Cheers

Had one of those muffs and sold it thinking I’d never need anything as sordid. Years on, they’re unaffordable. But it allowed me to go on a small muff journey, so that’s good. Still using the Bigfoot King Fuzz. Went around the houses with fuzz - but that’s the one that seems to be hanging around. Perhaps because it’s not a trad fuzz. That Cunmingham btw - that thing is killer. Stellar ending btw. More noise pls. ✌🏾
Mick switched on the tacit blue and instantly gave all of RUclips a fully comprehensive lesson on the importance and the correct use of the guitar volume control. Sounded glorious !
New fan of the show … love your passion and obsession for tone .. how you are exploring the sound … the guitar .. the connection to inspiration… Thank you Dan
Loving the John Mayer Crossroads Cover inspired riffs. Fitting for the Pete Cornish NG-2. Man Mick and Dan were really on fire today! Love the Strat tone
Whoa, had not been watching the show for some time due to a crazy work-load, but couldn't miss your show on Fuzzes and what i see straight away is Dan's head. No idea what is going on, but, Dan, i hope you're doing well and what ever it is, you will get back on a good track ASAP. Sending my warmest thoughts to you!
I have to say this is some of the best playing I've seen from you guys, just in terms of taste and comfort across the fretboard. Mick around the 21:00 mark, for example, and Dan around 41:00
Hi guys. I have been leant a very early Tim Cunningham combo, and one of his ge fuzzes. You guys really should get him on your show, the amp is pure magic, as is the fuzz. Just a thought.
I feel that graphic at the end with all the pedals probably needs to be a shirt... and the fact you did not epilogue with voice was perfect. You just fuzzed into oblivion. Bravo
Rhodium electronics fuzz are amazing Antonio is such a genius when it comes to vintage electronics, I have a valvecastor that he made and one of his Tonibender mark 3. Go check him out , he is the real deal.
Thank you! Great espidode. Can I just put this out there? Adrian Utley on TPS would be amazing. Definitely one of my favorite guitarists and musicians.
Was waiting for this one as it was announced earlier this week! I'm currently in a very fuzzy period listening to almost nothing but doomy stuff so thank you lads! Great content as usual
Thorpy makes great pedals! His drive stuff is up there with the best! I also love Caroline guitar company pedals, just bought a Caroline Hawaiian Pizza Fuzz! Love it
Seems the trick with a great fuzz is getting frequencies that will cut and sing, without those harsh extra-high frequencies. I hear those nasty frequencies in the Ross, and somewhat in the Cornish. Cunningham gets it right imo. And - although I have my doubts it will cut in a mix - that Big Muff sounds fantastic.
The two bits I liked best were the Holy Grit which I thought would be really up my street and the ending with everything switched on. I find it really hard to judge Fuzz pedals when they are not in the context of a mix.

As so well said, a studded glove rather than an icepick can be what you're looking for. But, I may add, an icepick really, really does the job. Fuzz was made for fun with over-the-top wave deformation, and therefore the gnarliest, most crushed wave could be your happy place! That was an amazing display!
You really need to try the Bleak District Electric Antistatic Fuzz. In fact you should get Phil on for a show. He is making fantastic analogue pedals that do traditional stuff but also crazy creative things. The Antistatic is also a micro looper. I got Phil to play it on my last album. It sounds amazing and took the song to the summit it was reaching for.
I miss my green box Big Muff so much. It was the best fuzz pedal I’ve ever had. I bought it brand new. One day I let a cousin borrow it and it never came back. No other fuzz I’ve had has ever matched it.
I haven't watched yet but I ordered a ThorpyFX Tacit Blue yesterday, and now I'm on the hunt for a Rat or a Rat derivative (JHS Rat Pack?). Looking forward to this episode. Thanks and.......Cheers.
May I suggest checking out the not so obvious Decibelics Reverend (or XX dual version), based on the Bixonic Expandora which was a Rat derivative. Very Ratty color but much more to it than that, especially with the 3 different clipping modes on the dual version. Otherwise the simple Jam Rattler is hard to beat and TPS approved
I have finally nailed the attack. 2024 will be about the sustain. Ant Macari will be shipping several boxes. and I am about to get my first Marshalls! 🙉
