I own two of these Tele Acoustasonics. They sound good, play well, weigh nothing, fairly easy to maintain, & I get a lot of people asking about them when I’m on stage. Checks all the boxes for me :)
That's a Goochacaster if I've ever seen one. However, I do like the bolt-on necks on acoustics. Remember the old Eko acoustics? Easiest neck resets in the world. Sounded sweet too.
A note here I found out by my mistake. Putting that string height gauge on my frets. My cheapo gauge had some sharp, rough edges that scratched the **** out of my frets. Be aware of cheap stamped out Amazon gauges. Fixed and polished the frets and the string gauge edges. No worries. Love the videos Dave. I've learned so much.
Almost bought one of these years ago, until I bought Gretsch Electromatic and it did all I needed it to. Still, the Acoustasonic looks like a cool guitar.
Great job. I like them. Not a substitute for a good acoustic or an electric obviously. Great for live if you have just a couple of acoustic songs in the set list. Not dragging your precious d-18 to the bar gig😅
I got my American made Acoustasonic Telecaster in June 2019. The onboard battery failed after just three months. Fortunately, a local authorized Fender serviceman was able to order the battery and do the replacement, but it took over three weeks to receive the battery. Four years later, I'm needing to replace the battery again, but now I'm out of warranty. I wish that Fender would have installed a replaceable 9-volt battery as they have in the MIM Acoustasonic Telecaster Player Series guitar. FYI, after I received my guitar in 2019, I bought a Fender hardshell case, installed Fender locking tuners, and a string tree for the B & E strings. The E string tended to pop out of the nut with moderate playing. I will say that the guitar sounds great, it is very versatile and easy to play.
I have one of these. Tele pickup is in position one-A. The knob close to the switch is an A/B blend knob. All the way counterclockwise is A. All the way clockwise is B. So there’s 10 sounds. 1A to 5A, and 1B to 5B. Position 1B is boosted Tele pickup. Position 3A is an acoustic model, 3B is internal mic… 4 & 5 A and B are other acoustic settings

Keep a chart in your pocket whenever you play. "What song's next? I gotta look at my chart!".
...... Great Fix Dave : - Not that we expect anything else??!. Cool guitar too, looks right - and, sounds decent also..... Hats Off To The Mexi-Fettlers = Proof you don't need to shell out the big bucks for a Yank model. Cheers Brother - Nick, England.
This might be a silly question and I'm missingh something but it's always bothered me why don't guiatr manufacturers have something like brass inserts around the pegs that hold the strings in on the bridge? They ALWAYS end up eating into the wood otherwise.
I own 1. Love the lightweight. Dislike everything else about it. No, wait, it is also the prettiest girl in my collection. Maybe electric strings will help....
Fender hasn't improved on any of Leo's inventions, yet they keep trying. Just make the guitars and amps be rock solid and affordable! That's all they need to do to stay in business forever ! No one needs their "innovation".

This is one of those guitars that kinda make sense at around $600, but not $1200.
I have one....very handy live.....lots of colors, plays pretty easy...stays in tune...
@@fasteddie4145 How many songs can you play before the 9vt battery goes dead?
Fender lies!
I really like the looks of that instrument.
Lovely.
Fender Acoustasonic range: a solution in search of a problem
It's nice to have both electric and acoustic characteristics in a single guitar.
A pick inside. Well if there was any doubt that these are acoustic guitars.... 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Didn't he say pickup?
Ok both.
She’s a beauty ! Rare and never seen by me - how old? ❤❤❤❤❤
If thats a Dunlap 60mm its mine!😊
That guitar looks like what you get when you ask someone that has never seen an electric guitar up close, to draw a picture of one.
Goochasonic
Those things intrigue me but not enough to own one
Pretty cool guitar
Thank you Dave for sharing your video I always enjoyed watching have a good one love thy guitar

I had a nice old Eko six string, superb guitar to learn on !
I think I like that kind!
That was a very interesting guitar. I learned some things too.
That's a very nice looking guitar fenda have made there.

George Conway has one of those.
A loose pickup is what was causing the buzz on my Acoustasonic!
I dont know man....those things have never sounded too good to my ear. Hollow and tinny
Sounds like absolute dogshit. A toy at best lol.

Brilliant job,again Dave,,Thanks mate!
I always wondered what those things looked like inside.Where else can you find out things like this?

Good job Dave!
I almost purchased one of those Fenders when they first came out. They are actually pretty good sounding, if you need to be able to plug in.
Called it. A pick.
I've always looked at these as WTF?
Nope
That neck was straighter than me

That guitar grey pick looked like a Dunlap 60mm critter!
Mine buzzed badly and my tech replaced some parts with some kind of wire. Fun guitar.
Nice guitar, not sure what fender was thinking though.
I appreciate you and thank you for making content.
Is the wood on that thick enough that you don’t have to worry about humidifying it or would you still put a dampit in it?
Good question.

Suction pig, suction pig, does whatever a suction pig does
Does he do acoustic things? Sure as hell. workin pig. look out here comes the suction pig.
Acoustasonic, all dressed up and no where to go.
Empty skivvies is an interesting unit of measure, how many pairs would a Les Paul weigh? I know I don't have that many!🤣
The 9 volt battery does not last very long and will go out right in the middle of a song.
I actually liked playing it unplugged though.
Very unusual guitar - nice sound though. I can't imagine that they would ever supplant the ole standard acoustic.
About $1700 in Canada, but interesting. Kinda like a Godin A6
good
The "back bone" has 3 curves front to back. Not straight. 😁
Fender Floppy 🎸
it justs sounds like a $hitty piezo guitar like they all do.

$$$
@@DavesWorldofFunStuff Thank you - thought as much, although I was erring on the side of me missing something.
They dropped their pick in hole, shook the guitar (as one does) trying to get it out, pickup gets loose. Just guessing.
what the pickup height
set ..no adjustment
I own 1. Love the lightweight. Dislike everything else about it. No, wait, it is also the prettiest girl in my collection. Maybe electric strings will help....
Nice guitar! However it appears dropping a pick into the sound hole is a cardinal sin.
Who is Debbie? Link? is she a performer, or just a random friend?
Nice guitar . I've looked at them for a decade or so, not sure...
I've played one for about a week. Didn't like it. Oh well.
I played one at the local music store. Kinda neat, versatile.
Krappersonic?
I knew these would be garbage

For the extortionate price these guitars are costed, this should never happen.
These things are time bombs. A design flaw was pointed out to me that affects the bridge. No thanks.
Jeez don’t shake the loose stuff / if it’s metal it can short out the circuits!
shut up ..it ain't plugged in FFS
@@DavesWorldofFunStuff it doesn’t need to be. It’s not dangerous it just blows the circuit boards and is an expensive fix.
@@bbb633 If it ain't plugged-in, the battery is disconnected. No juice, no damage.
Oh! I stand corrected then. Thx!
