That is my same deer rifle. 150 grain ballistic tip over 27.5 grains IMR 3031 has been my loading for decades. Countless whitetail have fallen to it. I sighted that rifle in at 100 yards in the mid 1980s with a Tasco 3x9x30 scope and have never had to adjust it.. It still prints 2 inches high at 100 yards ! The forearm is polished to almost a glow from the countless miles I have carried that rifle
3031 and 4895 seem to be the powders that work best with lighter bullets for shorter barreled guns. I will try 3031 vs 4895. Same C.O.A.L., Same trim and similar velocity. Those Tasco golden antlers were the best 30 dollar scope ever. Good until it went bad, then replace. Lol
I just loaded some 100, 110, and 130g bullets with imr 3031. . . . . This little gun shot them GREAT! I wouldn't deer hunt with them, but man did it do well.
I have the same gun and i would not trade it for anything one of the best gun i have i feel like i cant miss with it great video God bless you all stay safeout there
@@jabsoutdoors3859 Ok thanks. Because I have to chance to get one the same and it does have the same orangy recoil pad on it. So must be original. Thanks again
@@Daniel-xq7ny I have no fear taking a shot at 200 yards. I have hand loaded for it and I know what it likes, but factory 150g silvertips shoot wonderful in this thing. At 100 you can easily keep 3 shots in a golf ball.

That flyer was actually shot #1 lol. Shot #2 and #3 were damn near stacked on each other.
I actually just loaded up 100g and 110g M1 bullets with 3031. . . . it shot them great too.
Nice I have the same gun without the recoil pad and I have always used open sights.its my favorite out of several.
Got my first kills with this rifle. I love it
Would absolutely love one of those babies.
I want it!!!!!!!!!!
Oh and I have this gun with the .410 barrel and the .30-30
Hi, Is the rubber pad original? Thanks
To the best of my knowledge. I didnt alter it and the fella I got it from isbt the type to change things, but I cant be 100% certain.
