Donal Skehan I once made a chocolate pavlova topped with different exotic fruit like pineapple, kiwi, star fruit (very pretty!), mango. I think all kinds of fruit are great!
My friend and I gave this a try. We folded blackberry jam and lemon zest in to the whipped cream. We had never made meringue before so we slightly overcooked it. In the end though it was heavenly, and i will add it to the rotation. (The next day the lemon zest had permeated the whole thing and made it bright and summery)

Fabulous video as always, Donal! I noticed that when you were putting your meringues in the oven that you had secured the wax paper to the corners of the baking tray with some little blobs of the meringue. A wonderful kitchen trick! I am off to smear meringue on things!!

Hello - I'm sure someone will correct me if I am wrong but I'm pretty sure the vinegar (or lemon juice) helps stabilise the egg white and retain its volume. The cornflour aids with stabilisation. makes a soft marshmellow-y centre and it helps stop it from separating or weeping. Everyone has their own rules/ways to make this so its a much debated thing lol (especially in NZ & Aussie).

Yummy. But I would blend some strawberries in a blender with some honey. Spread in between the layers and then decorate the top with whipped cream, sliced strawberries and blackberries then drizzle the top with some of the blended mixture to drip down all around the cake. That will be my Pavlova 🤗😋🌹

Hiya Donal, now that you are in the Sates you might have seen cartons of Eggbeaters or Better Than Eggs, egg substitutes in the grocery stores. They sell both the whites and the yokes. Can I make meringue using the egg white product?
+Isabel Martins you can make it at home whipe cream is so easy to make ,,,, First chill your metal bowl in the freezer until cold After that add the heavy cream and icing sugar and mix it until it become heavy and stiff you can add vanilla extract 🌸
Tips: put strawberry slices between all the layers, add cocoa powder to one layer of the whipped cream for chocolate whipped cream, use cream of tartar instead of cornstarch and vinegar (is found in the spice isle at the market) and yeah :3 Making this for my b day on the 21st. I like to bake my own cakes lol

what a easy and beautiful recipe! But I have a problem with meringe, mine it's liquid or cream texture every time I've tried.
+Beatriz Polo yeah you have to keep an eye on it as it goes from liquidy to too thick quite quickly!
I think this is better in the winter than in the summer
