Thanks for this. I actually had this blues pentatonic memories but I thought it only fits in for 12 bars or funk but I didn’t realised it can be used for other key scale. It is really good tips thanks so much !

The minor blues scale with the tritonel... I find myself resorting to that scale way too much. Im trying to solo without it these days, but yeah it is useful.

That was very neat. I'm not as dexterous as you, but I have a few cheats of my own. I was gratified when I went to see the Grandmothers play (Zappa's old band) and Don Simmons was using the exact same cross hand solo technique I used (and thought I was cheating horribly!) I haven't played keys seriously now for a long time, but the world of the iPad opens up a whole new world of cheats, chief amongst which is the facility to solo and change the available notes on the fly. No more bum notes, but all the flexibility of the kind of inter-key modulations that make a track sing. I agree 100% that so much lies in the modulation, and again the iPad is so great for that. I love the likes of AniMoog and ThumbJam, which allow modulation in multiple directions of travel as well as over time. Delish!

Thank you for this! I am not a good keyboard/synth player, therefore assumed I will never be able to play a nice (not note by note learned) solo. But thanks I found this. It sound really nice, even by me:-)

I'd LOVE if you transcribed a few of the essential riff variations as a PDF. After a few months go by, I'll forget all except the basic scale. Or haha maybe I should do this myself.

Great stuff! I "discovered" the blues scale quite a while ago (in an iPad App actually) and used it a lot. Then I felt it sounded always similar... But you gave me lots of inspiration to use differently!

    • @MrNorsewise

Kranty & keys just get s great keyboard or amp. If you already have a cool enough keyboard go to the synthesizer settings and pick one of the loudest and crispiest you can find when just plucking a single note they're great for deep What I Call Guitar whammy bar Benz when you get down to the low end of the scale

This is just superb, I have been researching "learning lead guitar beginners" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you ever come across - Ganyatty Guitar Gainify - (do a search on google ) ? Ive heard some unbelievable things about it and my brother in law got great results with it.
