Congratulations! My opinion during a big Woods southern Appalachian mature mountain buck especially on public land is the most difficult challenge. Any outdoorsman can ever pursue. Love your genuine excitement! God bless you.
What a great plan. Great diligence to hike in, and patiently wait out the rain. Great return to an authentic hunt. Great buck. Well done (not the meat🙂)! God is great. Thank you for the efforts in your production of this story. 🦌🥩💪
Awesome hunt and a great buck! Congrats man! Your style of hunting and terrain looks a lot like what I hunt here in Northeast Alabama. I’ve backpacked several out so I know how much your putting into this especially filming the hunt too. Keep up the great work!
Congratulations, sir. Just stumbled across your channel today and watched this one and the 11 point so far and I have to say I have enjoyed the genuineness and respectful way you go about these videos. I love this kind of mountain hunting with a white hot passion and I’m genuinely happy for ya, sir. Well done. Thanks also for the soft music instead of the blasting, blaring junk so many use today. 🙂
Fantastic Buck. Congratulations! Excellent video. Love your excitement and enthusiasm. Those National Forest monsters are out there, just need to get way off the beaten path.
Congratulations from a fellow hunter from NOVA! It's a MONSTER for the National Forest! I've harvested two smaller bucks in the National Forest in the past week with a rifle. But I am always looking for a monster like this when I still hunt on mountain tops of Appalachian. ❤
Congratulations. An impressive deer. I really am enjoying the work you put into these videos, the voice over, camera shots and music make them something special.
couldn't agree more! We are pretty blessed with a TON of great land in VA if you'll work for it. Exactly the kind of hunting I have come to love! Great job filming it all too. Accurately portrays a REAL mountain hunt that most Virginians have access to without treking across the world! Well done man!
Thank you! I have just recently started hitting national forest hard last year. This year I was lucky enough to take this buck, and another big 11 point. It’s safe to say I’m hooked on the big mountain bucks!
You have to go to tops of mountains most people want go because of the hike ive killed all kinds of big bucks in va on top of the mountains in national forest
Damn just found your channel and love it already...what a deer I live in Ohio their all corn fed and big here but that deer in the mountains he didn't get that big being stupid congrats on a monster and great video
What a great Buck. The excitement and joy in your voice makes watching your hunt fun. I’ve always wanted to hunt the National forest in Virginia, but usually just stay close to home and hunt a few properties I have permission to hunt. I need to try this one year soon. Could you do a video on what to look for when hunting the National forest? And how to pick a spot.
@@johnparker9139 I’d love to make a video about it. A buddy of mine started a podcast, and I’m planning on going on and talking about it. I’ll put the link in a video if they decide to do it! If not I’ll try and make a video about it.
@ oh im all about getting my bear tag notched now. If you know a spot or two that could bring some success let me know. I love me some bear meat, and I need more fat for rendering.
@@danielcollins6106 well if you notice I said the rain stopped at 8, we ate something, and had to shoot her muzzleloader cause she had a fall and hit the gun. We also went to make sure we had water. By the time we left it was 10:30 when I put the time card in the video. It had plenty of time to dry out in the sun. Thanks for watching.
Congrats on the buck! Just had my first mountain hunt this weekend and had success myself. Just curious what elevation were you finding the deer, we got on 2 down in the bottoms and never made it higher than 2600
If your hunting a piece of public that’s land locked off of from the public ppl by private land that’s not a PUBLIC buck I live in SWVA and hunt only 2-3 tracks that aren’t land locked this way. It’s completely different worlds the piece that I hunt is heavily pressured as it truly public land but you go hunt a piece that’s land locked and it’s almost the same as private land hunting.
It’s definitely connected to the road. We actually walked in by following the Appalachian trail that goes straight through the road. It’s 9,000 continuous acres with a road that goes right through it. There was even another guy camping about half a mile past us. There are deer that big that roam them mountains. You just gotta go find em. Good luck!
@ ik they’re not at the public entrances but they need nutrients to get those horns and acorns aren’t it really. That’s got to be an old dude for sure. I’ve personally never seen any that caliber yet but I’m young still on public land honestly I need more time to be able to do like you guys did with the camping but nobody ever wants to go with me that deep in there lol nice buck either way!
Much congrats!!! I enjoy tent hunting this content was fun great buck
Thank you!

You remind me of Patrick Swazy. You've got a voice of a good narrator for movies and such. Nice deer
